Chapter | 33
Erased | KrishoThe last two weeks have been eventful as well as uneventful. Jongdae isn't sure how to explain it. It's like he's living outside of his body, watching as his friendship with Chanyeol turns to an uncomfortable mess of slime or whatever you want to call it. Being ignored by the giant is tearing him to pieces along with the fact that Minseok hasn't turned up to school in a week and hasn't returned any phone calls or answers. He's on edge and he's not sure he can take it anymore.
Walking through the halls alone and unsure of what to do isn't what Jongdae imagined he'd be doing during finals week, but that's exactly what he's doing. Originally, he planned to study and hang out with Kris and Chanyeol for the duration of finals but it seems like those plans aren't happening any time soon with Chanyeol giving him the cold shoulder and Kris having completely disappeared.
However, Jongdae can't help but feel guilty. He feels like this is his fault because he was the one who became distant, but then again, Kris and Chanyeol started the whole thing by telling Minseok about his feelings.
it.
Jongdae doesn't even know what to think. He doesn't know what he did to deserve this.
Why can't things just back to how they were?
When Jongdae gets home, he lies down for about an hour when he hears the doorbell ring through the loudspeaker of his home. Frowning and sitting up, Jongdae goes to answer the door. His mother and father shouldn't be coming home anytime soon and even if they did, they wouldn't ring the doorbell.
Dread and maybe a slither of relief floods through him when he finds Chanyeol waiting at the door, bouncing on his feet.
"Chanyeol?"
The other looks up and Jongdae masks his concern for the other. The bags under his eyes have darkened and it's obvious he hasn't been taking care of himself properly because he's got a slight stubble. Holding the door tightly, he waits for the other's reply.
"Can I come in?"
Nodding, Jongdae steps aside and leads Chanyeol towards his room. Every step is heard and the house is silent. Jongdae can't recall a time when he and Chanyeol had ever felt this tense, this awkward around each other. The other's confession is still fresh in his mind as well.
He is acutely aware of how close Chanyeol is as he turns the metal knob and enters the room. It takes a lot of self-control to stop his hands from faltering. Jongdae sits down on the side of his bed. Chanyeol shows himself to the armchair beside the window.
"Why'd you come here?" Jongdae asks, not meaning to sound annoyed even though that's exactly how it comes across.
Chanyeol keeps his eyes trained on the glass. "It's about Kris."
"What about him?" Jon
