[CONTENTID1] Rivendell, or Imladris, was an Elven town in the Misty Mountains on the eastern edge of Eriador. Because of its location, it was called "The Last Homely House East of the Sea" from the point of view of a traveler going to the Misty Mountains and Wilderland; and also the First Homely House from the point of view of someone coming from these lands to the civilised lands of Eriador to the west.

[CONTENTID4] i Welcome to a new layout based on The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
ii Why? Because I am currently loving the movies (no, I have not read the books and yes, I am way late into the craze).
iii You may (or may not) be wondering why I chose Rivendell of all the places in Middle Earth. The answer is simple: one of my favorite characters is the Lord of Rivendell, Elrond Halfelven. I love his character traits.
iv The Gallery of Rivendell has Thranduil in it because... okay, I have no other reason aside from the fact that it's Thranduil/Lee Pace looking magnificent.
v That being said, The Council is also technically wrong.
