Easter egg

Junior Quest

Leeteuk was sure that if there was some kind of prize for being a pro at spoiling, Heechul would have earned it. It was true kids hated vaccines, but the Kim family took it to the other level when it came to that issue. Maybe it was because Heechul also hated shots himself or because he had a soft spot for his children. Probably both.

“They cry because YOU can’t stop sulking about your ‘babies getting hurt’ “ - Leeteuk scolded the parent - “You are the one responsible for this chaos”

“I didn’t cry” - Yesung showed off his sticker on the arm - “I’m a big boy now! I’m not afraid of needles!”

“DADA DADA DADA!” - The twins kept climbing their dad like if their life depended on it. However, Heechul had his arms busy holding little Henry who just like his siblings, hated the idea of having a shot.

“Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, look, Henry cried” - Leeteuk tried some psychological approach- “He did so because he is a BABY. Are you babies too?”

“NUH” - The boys’s pride was a thing

“Good! Does that mean you guys aren’t going to cry?”

“Uhm...” - The twins exchanged looks. Ryeowook nodded.

“What a brave boy!” - The doctor praised as Ryeowook sat on Heechul’s lap

Without making a fuss - “Don’t move~ everything will be over soon~”

As expected the boy did cry when he felt the needle pinching his soft arm. Funny thing was, he refused to admit so and kept sobbing in silence while wiping away his tears. Kyuhyun had lost that single drop of courage he gathered and was now trying to hide from Leeteuk in a try to not get a shot.

“Well, I guess we can do the triplets now” - Heechul scratched his head - “Who is Having it first?”

The triplets were nervous. They were obviously having that silly illusion that Heechul would say it was just a ‘joke’ and they could go back home without a shot. Reality wasn’t as good.

“Cmon guys” - Heechul sighed - “It has to be done”

“NOOOO” - Eunhyuk wailed on the floor. Leeteuk was sure Eunhyuk and Donghae were pretty famous at the hospital because of shots. They both hated it so much their vaccinations always ended in the wrong way. Siwon wasn’t different at all.

Leeteuk almost crashed with a young nurse thanks to Kyuhyun. The toddler was small enough to just go between the girl’s legs but Leeteuk wasn’t as lucky.

“So Sorry! My bad!” - Leeteuk blushed deeply seeing the situation- “I swear I wasn’t trying anything weird I’m just—“

“Its ok” - The girl widened her eyes - “It’s... you”

“Me?” - Leeteuk was confused. He was trying to not lose sight of the silly toddler that was now trying to hide behind a trash can - “Uhm, I don’t know what you mean but thanks? Now if you Excuse me...”

Leeteuk tried to continue his task of returning silly boy with his dad but he got stopped as the girl pulled his arm.

“Uh? Is there something wrong?” - Leeteuk tried - “I already said I—“

You are Leeteuk, aren’t you?” - The young nurse asked

“Yeah, thats... Right?” - Leeteuk wasn’t really in the mood for conversation. Kyuhyun was starting to get interested in the contents of the trash can and it didn’t feel right - “Miss, I’m afraid I must go. Again, I’m sorry for what happened ear—“

Leeteuk had never received such a slap before. It sounded so hard that the toddler behind them turned to see them. Heechul was mesmerized by the scene. The young nurse walked away in a bad mood and not even Heechul dared to say something until she was totally gone.

“What did you do?” - Heechul asked amused - “Did you ask for her number? She is actually pretty”

“I don’t know” - Leeteuk tried to recover from the shock - “She was fine and then... Nevermind. Maybe she got mad for something I said”

“Ukwee... kay?” - Kyuhyun was next to them trying to get a better view of the nanny - “No Huwtz?”

“Oh~ Honey~” - Leeteuk found cute how the toddler would worry about him - “I’m fine!”

“Why nuwze hit Ukwee?” - Ryeowook asked as he the big rainbow lollipop he got from his dad - “Ukwee bad?”

“Uhm...” - Leeteuk looked at Heechul asking for help. Ryeowook was such a clever boy there was no way he was getting distracted until he got a proper answer to his question - “I...”

“Uncle got in troubles for not getting a shot” - Heechul whispered to the boys - “Nurses hate boys that don’t listen well”

Kyuhyun gasped. Ryeowook nodded in understanding and kept his lollipop relaxed.

“Wookie go’ One” - Ryeowook showed his sticker to the babysitter - “Huwtz”

“Ah sure” - Leeteuk tried not to think about the fact Heechul had used a lame trick to get Kyuhyun interested in the shot - “But you know? Most nurses won’t hit boys, ok?”

“Kyu?” - Kyuhyun worried

“They won’t hit you, honey” - Leeteuk was sure Heechul’s answer would bring troubles - “Even If you don’t get a shot, they won’t hurt you”

“But If you don’t, I’m gonna cry” - Heechul urged - “Cmon. It won’t hurt and you will get a big lollipop like the one your brother has”

“Ung~” - Kyuhyun wasn’t really in the mood of getting an injection but it sounded better than getting slapped just like his uncle did. Also, Ryeowook was sure of making the lollipop looked tasty.

“All done” - Heechul sighed as he buckled all his kids’s belts - “Ryeowook, buddy, please don’t take it off until we get home ok?”

“Ung” - Ryeowook nodded in understanding. He was still enjoying his lollipop.

Unlike his twin, who ate full of grace, Kyuhyun was messy. His face said ‘lollipop’ all over. Not only his hands were sticky but his face and hair got a good amount of the candy.

“Kyunnie will need a bath as soon as we get home” - Leeteuk commented - “By the way why didn’t you buy lollipops for the others? I mean... you know”

“Siwon got a new car of those he likes” - Heechul swayed his head - “Yesung and Kangin preferred money. Henry is too young for that thing so he got a cookie”

“And the triplets?” - Leeteuk wasn’t asking because of the others but them - “Why didn’t you—-“

“Because they weren’t good” - Heechul twisted his lips - “I did bought lollipops for them as well but if they want it... they have to earn it”

The three boys looked down with guilty eyes.

“But they did received the shot” - Leeteuk trying to convince Heechul- “They Are sure sorry for whatever they did to you”

“We will discuss it later” - Heechul shook his head - “I need to focus. This van is way bigger so parking isn’t that easy”

“I get it” - Leeteuk was sure it wasn’t a total lie and yet, Heechul was trying to get away using that as a excuse. The parent finally got his new car a few days earlier. He was happy as the new van had many seats and now he could take all his kids with him if needed even if baby chairs were big enough to occupy more space than a normal person.

Heechul was driving in silence while glancing at the boy that kicked his seat as a game. Eunhyuk was sure getting a scolding for that.

“Pee” - Kyuhyun broke the silence - “Uh oh”

Heechul went pale. Leeteuk hoped for the best.

“Honey, do you have to pee?” - Leeteuk wanted it to be a ‘yes’

“Nuh... Kyu pee” - Kyuhyun pointed at his seat - “Awkcident!”

Heechul did a squeaking sound. Kangin laughed. Yesung was unamused.

“Thats EW” - Yesung complained - “Kyu this is a new car! How could you do that?”

“Sowy...” - Kyuhyun felt guilty. Ryeowook wasn’t happy at all with Yesung shouting at his twin

“Zhut up” - Ryeowook told his oldest sibling

“He told you to ‘shut up’ “ - Kangin laughed - “Gosh, Ryeowook is so insolent! Hahaha”

“Kangin...” - Heechul warned

“It’s not funny! Those two are sure getting troubles!” - Yesung whined - “Kyuhyun shouldn’t have refused to use the toilet back in the hospital and Ryeowook needs to learn about respect!”

“Yesung...” - Heechul warned again

“ZHUT UP” - Ryeowook covered his ears annoyed by Yesung’s shouting - “BLAH BLAH BLAH!”

“YOU SHUT UP!” - Yesung shouted back - “STOP ASKING ME TO SHUT UP!”

Ryeowook screeched. He hated loud noises and when people shouted. Kyuhyun was now worrying as his twin wasn’t in a good mood.

“Yeye bad!” - Kyuhyun protested - “Shhhh!”

“Dont ‘shhhh’ him” - Kangin laughed again. He loved provoking his little siblings - “You were the one that started this! If you haven’t peed your pants like a baby we wouldn’t be having this discussion!”

That was it. Kyuhyun lost it and threw his candy to his brother. Sadly, he had a bad aim the candy ended hitting the wrong boy.

“BUAAAAH! THAT HURT!” - Siwon lamented as he also lost his toy car between the seats - “My car fell! I can’t find it!”

“I help” - Donghae decided to take off his belt and go down his chair to look for the car.

Everything happened so fast Leeteuk’s heart wasn’t ready for it. Heechul had stopped driving and parked the car before time.

“PUT IT BACK” - Heechul barked to the boy

Donghae flinched and went back to his seat without protesting. Sungmin helped him to buckle his belt. The boys stared at Heechul full of terror. The older boys were anxious as well. They knew that face wouldn’t come for free.

“You are all in troubles” - Heechul’s voice was sterner than usual - “As soon as we get home, you all will receive a scolding”

Leeteuk gulped down anxiously. He knew this time, Heechul had all rights to be mad. The kids cried. The younger ones were crying loudly but the older boys just teared up in silence.

“Oh! You are back!” - The old lady greeted them - “Oh... look at those poor faces! They all cried! I thought they wouldn’t—“

“Heechul is in a terrible mood” - Leeteuk hoped their mother could read his lips

“Hi mom” - Heechul smiled to his mother as always - “Would you mind going upstairs for a few minutes? I will be quick”

“Sweetheart, I think—“

“Please” - Heechul kept that fake smile with skill - “I promise we won’t take that long. Right boys?”

“Uhum” - Yesung nodded scared. By experience, he knew that quick scoldings weren’t better than long ones. Duration wasn’t the problem.

“Alright~ you know what to do” - Heechul kept smiling awkwardly- “Take a sit. It won’t be that long but I think being sit would help”

No boy refused. Heechul gestured at Leeteuk to take Henry upstairs as well.

“Teuk... close the door, ok?” - Heechul smiled one last time as Leeteuk entered the room where the grandmother was - “I don’t want Henry to get scared”

Leeteuk did as asked. He closed the door and sat on the bed next to his mother with Henry on his lap. Both adults exchanged nervous looks.

Heechul’s smile faded away as soon as Leeteuk and the baby were out of sight.

“WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING, UH?”

“Maybe you should go downstairs” - The old lady urged- “I will take care of Henry but someone needs to make sure Heechul doesn’t get too carried away”

“Why me?” - Leeteuk replied automatically  - “I’m also scared... can’t you go? He will listen to you...”

“I’m not sure of that” - The old lady sighed - “I guess we need to wait until he calms down a bit”

“Kyuhyun, you told us you didn’t need to go potty and then wet the car” - Heechul was starting from the youngest - “Accidents do happen but you shouldn’t do that ok? Also, throwing things is a no no! Specially inside a car where you can cause a really bad accident!”

“Ung...” - Kyuhyun cried in understanding. He knew Heechul was mad at them. He wouldn’t dare to test his patience- “ Kyu Sowy!”

“I feel bad for Siwon and Sungmin” - Leeteuk sighed on the bed - “They didn’t do anything...”

“Ryeowook. If I ever hear you speaking like that to ANYONE older, younger, family or not, Dumbo will have short ears compared to yours, ok? Don’t be disrespectful” - Heechul was being firm with the boy - “Do you understand?”

“Ung” - Ryeowook had such puppy eyes that his dad always had a hard time scolding him. This time it didn’t seem to work.

“Donghae, never never NEVER take off your belt during a car drive” - Heechul sighed - “And of course, getting out of your chair is even worse. You could get hurt”

“Uhum” - Donghae nodded - “Sorry”

“Eunhyuk, don’t kick someone’s seat. That’s annoying and since it was MY seat the one you were kicking, you were distracting the driver” - Heechul explained - “I need to focus when I am driving. I can’t lose concentration just because you guys keep fighting and yelling non stop”

“Sorry” - all boys apologized

“Kangin, you are one of the older boys” - Heechul took a deep breath - “Please don’t add wood to the fire. Provoking your brothers or having fun because of fights isn’t good”

“I understand” - Kangin agreed - “Sorry, dad”

“Lastly... Yesung” - Heechul pulled the boy’s ear - “Don’t talk like that to your brothers. Yes, you were right! Kyuhyun caused us troubles but... still, he is a toddler ok? Getting mad at him like that wouldn’t change the fact he already wet the car. Shouting to his twin only made things worse”

“I’m sorry” - Yesung sulked - “I will try to not do it again”

“Thanks” - Heechul swayed his head - “I think you don’t need to be told but you are all grounded. You guys need to think of your actions ok?”

Sungmin looked at Heechul with wide eyes. The boy wasn’t sure of why was he getting scolded but he was too afraid to ask. Siwon had something else to think about.

“Uhm... Daddy” - Siwon often called Heechul daddy when he was scared or needed something. Leeteuk called it ‘manipulative’ but Heechul was ok with it - “I cant take it off”

“Uh? What?” - Heechul haven’t realized it yet, but his boy had a lollipop stuck on his hair - “Oh, God”

“Can you take it away?” - Siwon asked scared - “It hurts”

“S-sure... just let me see” - Heechul did his best but the candy was so sticky it was really stuck on the boy’s hair. He even called his mother for help but the old lady gave up after a few tries with common solutions.

“It won’t come out” - Leeteuk got defeated as well - “I think we need to cut it off”

“C-cut it?” - Heechul worried

“His hair, honey” - The old lady agreed - “Dont worry, only a little bit will be enough”

But it wasn’t true. Heechul ended taking the kid to the closest hair salon and asked for help. They ended giving the boy a whole hair cut since the candy was really stuck and they couldn’t just cut the part were it was.

Siwon cried silently the whole time. He started crying even more after he saw his reflection on the mirror.

“But you look handsome!” - The girls tried - “Having short hair is so manly!”

“You look like a business man” - Heechul teased in a try to lift the mood - “Gunhee liked his hair short. It looked so well on him I thought I would never met someone who rocked it better than him, but hey! Yours is even better”

“Do you think so?” - Siwon asked between tears. He wasn’t used to getting that hair cut and thought he looked weird.

“Yes, of course” - Heechul smiled - “I truly like it”

In fact, he truly did so. He never thought his boy could look so handsome just because of  a hair cut. After all, he never chose another style for them. All Heechul did in the hair salon was asking to cut the length of their hair but never thought of another style. He thought Gunhee and Hani had chosen the style that looked the best for the boys but he had just realized that maybe, it was a hair style they liked more than being good. Siwon used that old fashioned bowl cut and honestly, it didn’t look well on him. The only ones that had gotten different hair cuts were Yesung and Kangin because they were old enough to decide what they wanted.

“You look so handsome” - Heechul kept admiring the new look of his boy - “How come we didn’t do this before? You are like movie star”

Siwon blushed. He was happy since Heechul bought him another toy car. That made two for the day.

“I have an idea” - Heechul stared at the triplets in the living room - “Teuk, lets cut their hair”

“Uh? “ - Leeteuk was lost staring at Siwon - “Sorry. I just couldn’t stop watching him”

“He is handsome right?”

“Yes, of course. This hair style suits him a lot better” - Leeteuk agreed - “I thought you liked that bowl style and said nothing”

“No... I just... I guess I wasn’t thinking about it but it makes sense they can’t all use the same hairstyle” - Heechul sighed - “I mean, their faces are different... the hair and head’s shape are different as well”

Heechul ended taking five kids with him to the hair salon. He took some time reading catalogues before choosing a style for each boy. For his surprise, all his boys looked so handsome. Eunhyuk and Donghae’s hair was now shorter but they looked great. Eunhyuk’s face was better now that he didn’t have bangs covering his forehead.

“OH MY GOD, SO CUTE” - The grandma was also pleased when she spotted the boys with their new hair cuts - “THEY ARE SO SO SO SO CUTE”

“Oh dear lord” - Leeteuk gasped as he saw the twins - “I thought those two couldn’t be cuter”

Kyuhyun had what Heechul called ‘mushroom’ hair. Ryeowook had layered hair now. The boy couldn’t keep staring at the mirror Heechul got him.

“Maybe he doesn’t like it?” - Heechul worried - “I think he looks cute but he haven’t said a word”

“Honey, Your hair is so pretty” - The grandma tried - “I love your bangs!”

“Wookie...” - Ryeowook seemed to be thinking of the words he wanted to use

Everyone got nervous.

“Wookie loo’z liwe lion!” - Ryeowook chirped - “Wookie Pwetty!”

The adults relaxed.

“Why would my brother cut their hair like that? It didn’t suit them” - Heechul was in a better mood as his boys were now extremely cute

“Well, I cant speak for Siwon’s but the other five didn’t have that many hair before” - The old lady smiled - “I remember Ryeowook used to have very thin hair. I think Sungmin was the only one that had a lot of hair by the time Gunhee and Hani were in charge but... I get the feeling they just wanted to do it simpler...”

“Uh?”

“Taking care of so many kids at once... sometimes parents try to not complicate themselves” - The old lady explained - “Maybe they just said ‘bowl cut’ for everyone and that was it. It happens with clothes as well... I never liked the fact they used to dress them all very similar”

Heechul froze. He didn’t remember that. It was true he used the clothes their parents have chosen but as soon as the kids started to outgrow those and he and Leeteuk got in charge of buying new one, Heechul made sure each thing suited the boys’s looks and personalities. For example, even if the triplets used the same t shirt, they would need different pants as their waists were different. Heechul often joked about how Sungmin had a big compared to the others and how Eunhyuk had none.

“I never thought of it before” - Heechul bit his lips - “I... I took for granted they would have thought of it”

“Each parent is different” - The old lady smiled - “I used to choose all your clothes by myself. Donghee was always chubbier than you and Gunhee~ you three were so well dressed”

Heechul was having a cheerful conversation with his mother. Leeteuk decided he would check on the kids to make sure they weren’t doing something wrong. After all, silence was the best indicator that they were doing something bad and didn’t want to get caught.

He found Yesung tiptoeing to his room. Leeteuk sighed.

“Hi there” - Leeteuk smiled - “Are you going to feed Donnie?”

“Shhh! Don’t say it that loud” - Yesung whispered - “I don’t want my brothers to come into my room. Donatello will be better if is just me”

“I Keep thinking that you chose a funny name” - Leeteuk giggled

“It’s from the ninja turtles, you— Nevermind”

“Just one last question” - Leeteuk teased - “If you have bought a rat, would you have called it ‘Mickey’?

“I would have called it Splinter” - Yesung hissed - “Now, bye”

“Did I say something wrong?” - Leeteuk felt hurt as the kid sent him away - “I was just trying to have a conversation with you”

“Don’t be dramatic” - Yesung felt sorry - “If you are here, then they—“

“UNCLE~!” - The triplets were hugging Leeteuk

“Too late!” - Yesung closed the door in a hurry. The noise wouldn’t pass unadvertised.

“HEY” - Heechul shouted from downstairs- “BE CAREFUL WITH DOORS!”

“SORRY!” - Yesung shouted from his room

Leeteuk took a deep breath. The triplets were depressed as they wanted to see the turtle eating. Since the turtle was new, the kids here highly interested on it.

“I will let you have a look at it later” - Leeteuk promised - “Lets wait until Yesung stops playing with Donnie”

“Donnie~~~~” - Ryeowook kept scratching Yesung’s door - “Donnieeeeeee”

“Ryeowook, Yesung is going to get angry” - Leeteuk carried the toddler - “He doesn’t like it when you interrupt his time with the turtle”

Ryeowook pouted. The toddler was clearly upset. Leeteuk could even say he was in a bad mood, but he hoped he was just wrong. Lately, Ryeowook’s emotions had been a topic in the house: the kid would exhibit either anger or sadness from one moment to another.

“He looks upset” - Heechul warned as soon as Leeteuk entered the kitchen holding the silent kid - “What did you do now?”

“What do you mean by ‘now’ ? Did I do something wrong earlier?”

“It wasn’t me the one who earned a slap from a nurse”

“What?” - The grandmother widened her eyes - “What did you do?”

“That’s the problem. I don’t know”

“Are you sure it wasn’t something YOU did?” - The old lady was pulling Heechul’s ear - “It would be more likely”

“Geez! I haven’t seen her before” - Heechul complained - “Teuk, be careful. The kid”

Leeteuk didn’t realize what was Ryeowook up to until it was too late and two of his buttons were missing.

“Bad boy, Wook” - Heechul scolded the toddler - “You ruined your uncle’s shirt”

Ryeowook turned away and stared at his new treasures.

“If you give me the shirt, I will sew them back in no time” - The old lady offered

“Give them back” - Heechul tried - “Ryeowook give them back”

The toddler refused but he wasn’t strong enough to protect his treasure. In just a few seconds, it was a sea of tears.

“He is in such a bad mood” - Leeteuk tried to calm him down without success - “Time to go with Daddy”

“Come here” - Heechul held his fussy son - “You have been acting out more than usual”

“Dada” - Ryeowook sobbed - “Wookie zad!”

“I think you are just tired” - Heechul kissed the boy - “We woke up earlier than usual and you got a shot~ All you need is a nap”

“UHHHHH!” - Ryeowook kept crying while he hugged Heechul tightly - “DADA DADA DADA!”

The boy finally seemed about to calm down. Heechul was his head carefully in a try to soothe him and it was working. Ryeowook was almost asleep when the door’s bell rang.

“Aw Aw Aw” - Leeteuk was forced to take the toddler as Heechul went to check on the door - “You are so sleepy!”

“DADAAAAAAAAAA!” - Ryeowook cried out loud as he was annoyed

“Mr Kim! Hi!” - a bunch of people Heechul recognized as their neighbors were standing in the front door - “We came to invite you and your kids for this Sunday’s event! You know, Easter~ every year we go Easter hunting”

“Ah... Yeah” - Heechul scratched his head - “The thing with the eggs. Yeah, I remember. If there is something the Easter bunny needs please let me know~”

Heechul winked. He was aware that some of his kids could be listening and he didn’t want to ruin their innocence.

“We were just wondering if you are taking part in it this year”

“Uhmmm” - Heechul twisted his lips - “I’m afraid no. I don’t think so”

Leeteuk pouted from behind. He wanted the kids to participate on it... He felt sorry when the kids couldn’t join last year but at the time, he knew Heechul wasn’t well enough to go. This year, however, things were different.

“It’s just Easter” - Leeteuk sulked when the neighbors were gone - “Do you have any trauma with it?”

“Uhmmm no” - Heechul shrank his shoulders - “I actually loved Easter hunting. My dad used to hide several eggs in the house and brothers and I would wake up early just to find them”

“Then why? The kids would love—“

“Because they are grounded” - Heechul was being honest. He did had intentions to participate that year - “You told me to be strict with them when setting limits and scolding”

“But...” - Leeteuk insisted - “Easter is just once a year?”

“So? They earned it” - Heechul folded his arms - “I think they need to learn the lesson”

“Oww... I wanted some eggs” - Leeteuk pouted - “Please? Make an exemption...? Please?”

“I... I will think about it” - Heechul sighed - “Maybe you can go with Henry. He is not grounded, he didn’t do anything”

“Speaking of which—“

Heechul paled. Leeteuk turned to see what was wrong and found the cause walking towards them with what it looked a bunch of eggs.

“Honey” - Leeteuk worried - “Were did you get those from?”

“Kidchem!” - Ryeowook was hugging what it looked like a basked filled with eggs - “Wookie giwes Ukwee eggz”

“He heard you wanted eggs” - Heechul rushed to help the toddler - “Wookie this aren’t the ones your uncle was talking about ok? Thanks for helping you are such a sweetheart but if you—-“

Heechul’s face was a poem when Ryeowook tried to hand out one of the eggs and it ended on the floor.

“Oops” - Heechul tried to remain calm despite the mess - “It broke. I will search for something to clean this mess and then we will pretend nothing—“

“BUAAAAAAAAAH” - Ryeowook was crying out loud - “MY EGGY!”

“It’s ok! We have many!” - Heechul tried - “See? What’s wrong? Do you want an egg?”

“UNG” - Ryeowook sobbed - “Egg”

“Are you hungry?” - Heechul almost laughed

“Ung” - Ryeowook nodded - “Wookie wanna eat egg”

“Ryeowook is so funny” - Leeteuk giggled as he came back with something for cleaning the floor - “We thought he was in a bad mood because he was sleepy but turned out he was just hungry”

“I still think he is sleepy” - Heechul chuckled - “Lets feed him after a nap. Mom is still cooking dinner and she will definitely kill us if Ryeowook doesn’t eat later”

Heechul succeeded and the twins were now taking a nap. Yesung seemed to be in a good mood after playing with his turtle and Kangin finally managed to finish his homework with Leeteuk’s help.

“Are we going to go egg hunting?” - Siwon asked innocently - “I wanna find many many many eggs!”

“Yay!” - The triplets cheered

“Uhm, boys” - Leeteuk didn’t want to say it - “Your Dad said that this year you will be skipping it. He said you are still grounded so... I’m sorry”

“But is not fair!” - Kangin protested - “All we did was to misbehave five minutes!”

“It’s ok, I guess we are staying home then” - Yesung wasn’t really enthusiastic when it came to activities like that

“I wanted to find the eggs” - Siwon pouted - “Why can’t we go?”

“Hyukkie wants choco egg!” - Eunhyuk was also begging - “Pleaaaaaase”

“Pleaseeee!” - Donghae helped as well

Sungmin just hugged his bunny plush. The boy haven’t said anything since Heechul scolded them.

Leeteuk felt guilty. He wanted to take the kids to Easter hunting and yet, he understood why Heechul had refused to do so.

“Ok” - Leeteuk sighed - “Maybe if you are really really really good then daddy will change his mind”

The kids knew how to earn their dad when they wanted. Heechul was beyond pleased when all his kids showed a sudden interest in making him happy. That included massages, cuddles and lots of kisses. Peace was broken when Ryeowook woke up crying.

“HU’GWYYYY!” - Ryeowook was desperate

“Are you That hungry?” - Heechul found funny how the boy kept crying over food - “Lets See If Grandma is Done, ok?”

“GAMMA!” - Ryeowook cried louder when Heechul took him to the kitchen - “WOOKIE HU’GWYYYY”

“Oh Poor boy! You must be starving!” - The old lady also found funny how Ryeowook behaved - “Lets have dinner! I don’t want my poor boy to starve!”

“Dad haven’t arrived yet” - Heechul sighed - “I don’t think is nice to start without him”

“We can start feeding the young ones” - The old lady smiled - “I bet Kyuhyun and Henry are also hungry”

As the old lady predicted the kids were truly hungry. The younger trio was already in their high chairs when the grandpa showed up with a colourful basket.

“Ta cha~” - The old man giggled - “Easter bunny is here! Look what I brought”

“Eggs!” - Ryeowook chirped excited. He had never seen eggs of so many colours

“One for each boy” - The Grandpa gave the boys one each - “But you can only have it after dinner, ok?”

“Uh? Chocowate” - Kyuhyun was smiling as he observed the inside of the egg. The boy had removed the colorful paper with skill and was now tasting it - “Yummy”

Ryeowook seemed confused. He kept staring at the egg he was holding carefully.

“Gappa, diz egg” - Ryeowook showed the egg to his grandpa - “Piyo... Chirp chirp?”

“Ah?” - The grandparent wasn’t that used to Ryeowook’s language

“No, that egg isn’t from a bird” - Heechul understood what the boy was trying to say - “It’s not from a chicken either. It won’t hatch”

“Wainbow egg” - Ryeowook was focusing on the egg with an intense stare - “Choco egg”

“Its colorful in the outside but it’s made of chocolate” - Heechul was being patient. He was used to Ryeowook’s curiosity - “Lets eat dinner~ You said you were hungry”

“Who mawe diz egg?” - Ryeowook insisted. It wasn’t common the boy used complete sentences when his dad was around

“Wow, He is so good at talking” - The grandpa was shocked

“Easter bunny” - Heechul tried

“Nuh” - Ryeowook shook his head - “Bunny no eggy”

“Easter bunny is a different bunny. He doesn’t ‘lay’ eggs like a chicken. He just ‘cook’ them” - Heechul was getting tired - “Ryeowook, dinner”

“Uhmmmm” - Ryeowook seemed to be thinking of his next question - “Da—“

“Please eat” - Heechul rushed to feed the boy a spoonful of rice - “You said you were hungry”

Ryeowook nodded. He was used to it. He kept eating by himself while observing his new colorful friend.

“When was the last time you took him to his special classes?” - The old lady shook her head - “I know you have been busy but the boy is obviously overflowing with curiosity and you get tired easily ”

“He makes too many questions” - Heechul complained - “Some days I spend the whole time just like that. He gets in an extremely bad mood if we stop replying to him”

“Then why you don’t take him to his special classes anymore?” - The old lady insisted - “He obviously needs attention and maybe you and Teuk aren’t enough to provide it”

“I know my boy, mom” - Heechul took a deep breath - “And I definitely know what is the best for him”

The kids were getting ready for bedtime after playing with their grandparents for a long time. Heechul was almost fall asleep when Sungmin climbed his bed and started pulling his sleeve.

“Papa” - Sungmin whispered - “My bunny”

“Uh? Your bunny? I’m sure it is in your room” - Heechul tried - “Go back to sleep, Minnie”

“Its Not There” - Sungmin sulked

Heechul took a deep breath and the lights. He was exhausted but he knew there won’t be peace until the boy found his favourite plush.

“You were utterly quiet today” - Heechul ruffled the boy’s hair - “Were you mad  at me? Maybe upset because I scolded you?”

“Minnie was good” - Sungmin pouted annoyed - “No bad boy”

“Yikes” - Heechul realized it know - “You are right. You and Siwon didn’t misbehave right? I’m so sorry~ I’m a fool”

“It’s ok” - Sungmin looked at Heechul with sad eyes - “But my bunny...”

“I didn’t take it” - Heechul rushed to clarify- “I seriously thought it was— wait a minute”

Heechul’s mind raced. He was now sure of the culprit.

“Whats that?” - Sungmin seemed amused by the new arrangement in Heechul’s room - “Bunny has a baby!”

“Uhum” - Heechul twisted his lips - “Apparently, your brother took seriously that thing of the Easter bunny having eggs. I think he built some kind of nest”

Sungmin giggled. He liked the idea. Ryeowook had made a nest where the bunny plush was sitting on the Easter egg he got from his grandpa.

“Aish That kid” - Heechul rolled his eyes - “Lets go back to bed, Minnie. Here. Take your bunny”

“A nest” - Leeteuk repeated amused - “Ryeowook is such a bright boy”

“I think Kyuhyun is smarter” - Heechul teased - “He convinced Ryeowook to trade his chocolate egg for a normal one”

“Both of them are smart” - Leeteuk laughed - “Ryeowook asked Mrs Jung to  fry it . He had it for breakfast”

“PAPA~ LOOK MY EGG” - Sungmin was running around with a silly drawing of an Easter egg. He had gotten the printed thing in daycare and his homework consisted in decorating it - “PRETTY”

“It’s beautiful” - Heechul was proud of how his boy chose the right colours and drew carefully - “Are you going to add glitter to it? I heard your teacher said you could use anything”

“YES” - Sungmin’s eyes sparkled - “Glitter And and and...”

“Yeah, I should help you with it. Glitter can be dangerous if you don’t use it properly” - Heechul went to the table he had set for the kids to work - “Lets See... Whats wrong with you two?”

“We ” - Eunhyuk folded his arms while staring at his failed egg - “It’s ugly”

“Really ugly” - Donghae seemed about to cry as he showed Heechul his Easter homework - “Daddy, help me”

“Uhmm sure” - Heechul smiled. Those three were so different - “What about Siwon? How is that Easter homework going?”

“I have to draw” - Siwon was also good at drawing - “No problem”

“Cool”

“I have to write a story about Easter” - Kangin said annoyed - “Man, I miss kindergarten. All I had to do was being cute and draw”

“In daycare your biggest achievement is to not wet your pants” - Heechul teased

“What we have here?” - Leeteuk was in love with the younger trio teamwork - “Are those Easter eggs?”

“YAY!” - the three younger boys chirped

“I can tell who did each one” - Heechul liked to fool the kids saying he was some sort of magician - “You wanna see?”

“Ung!” - Kyuhyun nodded - “Diz?”

“Lets seee~” - Heechul said his magic words and then pointed at Henry - “Henry”

“WOW” - Kyuhyun did a shocked expression. Ryeowook giggled. Henry seemed excited.

“And this one...” - Heechul squinted his eyes making the boy’s laugh - “Kyunnie”

“Silly” - Leeteuk laughed as well. The kids’s drawings were easy to differentiate. Henry only could draw a few lines while Kyuhyun was old enough to give some shape to his drawings. Ryeowook was pretty skilled when it came to it. He was even better than Donghae and Eunhyuk.

“So, who did this again?” - Heechul was playing with Henry - “Who drew this?”

“Hewy!” - The boy chirped happily

“I didn’t hear it” - Heechul pretended he wasn’t listening - “Who?”

“HEWWWWYYYYY!” - Henry loved it. He learned his name and now he wouldn’t stop repeating it to call his dad’s attention - “Hewy~”

Leeteuk was helping the triplets with their homework when he spotted Ryeowook heading to the kitchen. The babysitter thought the boy could be hungry or thirsty.

The babysitter decided to watch over the boy as the toddler was unaware of his presence. The little boy worked out the lockers and managed to climb a chair to get high enough to steal an Easter egg from the basket Mrs Jung had made for the kids. Leeteuk thought the kid would just eat the egg but instead, Ryeowook headed to the backyard.

(What is he doing?)

Leeteuk got scared when he understood Ryeowook’s intentions.

“No no! Robin can’t eat that!” - the babysitter retrieved the colorful egg from the boy - “Robin will get sick if—“

“Wobin no eat eggy” - Ryeowook frowned - “Wobin iz chirp chirp”

“Robin is a bird” - Leeteuk translated - “So?”

“Wobin zits eggy. Eggy baby” - Ryeowook explained.

“Do you think Robin would sit on it?” - Leeteuk found cute how Ryeowook expected the bird to take care of the egg - “Ryeowook, are you trying to make this egg hatch?”

“Ung” - Ryeowook nodded softly

“Honey, this egg wont hatch” - Leeteuk sighed - “Its just a chocolate”

Ryeowook seemed dissatisfied. He kept staring at Leeteuk waiting for another explanation of why his colourful egg wouldn’t hatch even if a bird took care of it.

Leeteuk took almost twenty minutes convincing Ryeowook that the Easter egg were just filled with chocolate and in some cases, toys.

“I would have put a chocolate bunny in the place where the egg was” - Heechul teased - “He would have thought the egg hatched and the bunny came from it”

“Don’t you think Ryeowook’s thinking is awesome? I mean he is just two and he understands some things that even older kids have troubles with” - Leeteuk was happy - “He is moving so fast! In just a few months I bet—“

“Stop” - Heechul cut him quickly - “Ryeowook is a baby. He is still two”

“Yeah, I know” - Leeteuk worried - “did something happen?”

“I lied to mom” - Heechul sighed - “I did take him to classes this week. It’s just... Ryeowook is truly a genius and... they want him to start formal education rather than staying in daycare”

“What? He is just two” - Leeteuk grew concerned - “He is still not ready for kindergarten”

“Of course he isn’t. That’s why they have this special program for kids like him... let’s say it’s really suited for him but... I don’t want him to stop going to daycare” - Heechul bit his lips - “and I don’t want him to attend both places because it would be exhausting for him”

“But... he was doing fine with his special classes” - Leeteuk tried - “Can’t we keep it like that? I mean, just taking him sometimes rather than studying there”

“I guess so” - Heechul was concerned - “He is doing great. I’m proud of him... but I also worry”

“You think he is growing up too fast?”

“No” - Heechul shook his head - “and that’s the problem. He is smarter than any other child I have met but he is still a toddler at heart. For example, he knows that eggs are supposed to hatch after incubation but innocently thinks that a chocolate egg can do that as well”

“What are you going to do?” - Leeteuk sighed - “I’m almost sure you already took a decision”

“I will let him decide”

“Who?”

“Ryeowook”

“But he is a toddler” - Leeteuk shook his head - “It doesn’t matter how smart he is—-“

“I will figure it out” - Heechul nodded - “Dont worry”

In a try to convince Heechul to let the kids take part in the neighbourhood’s Easter tradition, Leeteuk dressed the boys cutely. The babysitter even worked overnight decorating a few basket that the kids could use to carry the eggs they found.

“You got me” - Heechul smiled - “This is way too cute”

“I know, right?” - Leeteuk was pleased with his work as he kept taking pictures of the kids - “Kyunnie~ look over here”

“Henry is trying to eat his ears” - Heechul laughed as the baby boy was now the bunny ears that were once in his head

Egg hunting was a total chaos. It was fun and yet a lot of work for the caregivers. Excepting the older kids that seemed to understand the game and were able to hang around for themselves, the others were having a hard time as they wanted to find several eggs but were bad at it.

“I WANT EGGS” - Donghae was already crying again - “I CANT FIND THEM!!”

“Daddy...” - Eunhyuk was also at the verge of tears as he hugged his empty basket- “Hyukkie wants an egg too”

Sungmin was dragging his feet as he held a basket that only had one egg inside. The boy had only managed to find one after two hours playing outside. He feared they were probably heading back home any time yet he could only find one egg.

“Kyunnie gave up after finding one” - Leeteuk sighed - “But at least he is happy”

“Eggy~ eggy~ eggy~” - Kyuhyun was still rubbing his treasure against his face - “Kyu pretty eggy”

“I had no luck” - Siwon commented as he showed Heechul his empty basket - “I guess older kids took them all”

Heechul sighed. Siwon was probably right. The older kids were smarter and faster. He was sure Yesung and Kangin probably would return with full baskets.

“Hey, Teuk” - Heechul whispered to the nanny - “Plan B. We are going to do ‘that’ “

“Oh~ Ok!” - Leeteuk smiled. He was relieved as Heechul took precautions. The parent knew this could happen.

Heechul was hiding a few colourful eggs around the mansion’s garden. That way no other kid would take them and his boys would have full baskets. He and Leeteuk had prepared several types of eggs filled with chocolate and toys. He was focusing in his Easter job when he almost crashed with a little bunny.

“Ryeowook” - Heechul didn’t expect the toddler to caught him - “Hi”

“Dada eaztwe bunny?” - Ryeowook tilted his head

“M-me? No~ why you Say so?” - Heechul got nervous. His toddler was judging him - “This? Oh no, I happened to find those here but it wasn’t me! The Easter bunny did it!”

Ryeowook shook his head and pointed at Heechul. The parent grew nervous but then something caught his attention.

“How come your basket has so many eggs? You filled it up “ - Heechul was surprised by the amount of eggs in it - “You did a good job”

“Wookie liwez Pwetty eggy” - Ryeowook smiled - “Wookie shawez wi’ Kyu”

“Are you going to share with Kyu? Aw, buddy!” - Heechul ruffled the boy’s hair - “Lets take those inside so you can keep playing ok?”

“Nuh” - Ryeowook refused to hand over his basket- “Mine”

“Sure” - Heechul sighed - “Take My hand ok? Let’s search for your brothers. They need to find more eggs or will cry”

Ryeowook yawned. He was tired after running everywhere looking for eggs. As expected, the triplets fell for it. The kids were extremely happy once they found several eggs in the garden. To make it better, Heechul also made sure of hiding some inside the mansion so the kids could have fun together even after their time outside ended. Yesung and Kangin had so many eggs Leeteuk feared they could die from eating so much chocolate. The babysitter ended setting a maximum of daily Choco eggs they could eat.

“Oh! This has something inside!” - Kangin was checking the type of egg by shaking them - “I can hear it!”

“Teuk” - Heechul seemed amused - “Look”

Ryeowook was gathering all his colorful eggs and counting them.

“I think Ryeowook Can inherit our company” - Heechul laughed

“Pwease” - Kyuhyun was trying to convince Leeteuk to help him open another egg that contained a toy - “ Hewp Kyu, Pwease”

“Are you going to share with Henry?” - Leeteuk tried

“Nuh” - Kyuhyun was too honest - “Hewy om nom”

“Thats... right” - Leeteuk agreed with the toddler - “Your Baby brother could eat this”

“Diz” - Ryeowook was showing his dad one of the eggs

“Do you want me to open it for you? We can play with the toy that comes inside and eat the chocolate” - Heechul explained - “Ta da~”

Ryeowook seemed curious as he inspected the inside of the egg. Heechul tried offering a piece of chocolate to the boy.

“Chocolate” - Heechul tried again - “No? You love chocolate”

Ryeowook went to the corner where Heechul had put a few books and returned holding his books about animals. He opened it in a page that had several pictures of eggs and the animals that belonged to them.

“Diz?” - Ryeowook tried again as he pointed at the chocolate egg - “No hewe”

“Sure is not” - Heechul giggled - “Easter bunny is different. Like the tooth fairy”

“Fwiendz?”

“Yes, they are friends” - Heechul was sure Ryeowook was somehow making the connection that bunnies didn’t lay eggs and most eggs weren’t made from chocolate. The boy was probably confused with all of it - “You know, sometimes you only have to enjoy. Don’t think so hard”

“Wookie egg too? Liwe chirp chirp?” - Ryeowook asked with a curious face

“You? From an egg? ” - Heechul couldn’t about giggling despite the toddler’s serious face - “You didn’t come from an egg, Wookie. But if you had, you would have been the prettiest egg”

“Dino egg” - Ryeowook nodded - “Big”

“Sure” - Heechul played along - “You came from a big egg. I thought it was from a dinosaur but it turned to be you... and Kyuhyun. You were sharing the same egg”

“Dada zat Wookie eggy” - Ryeowook tilted his head. Apparently, Ryeowook thought that Heechul had incubated him - “Liwe chirp chirp”

“Yeah” - Heechul was having fun with Ryeowook’s thinking - “and after you hatched, I Carried you like a baby kangaroo for a long time”

Ryeowook’s smile was prettier than ever. The boy looked at him in a way Heechul wouldn’t forget. He was happy. Really happy.

“Are you happy?” - Leeteuk realized Ryeowook’s sweet expression while looking at his dad

“Happy” - Ryeowook nodded - “Wookie iz happy”

“Why Exactly?” - Heechul tickled the boy - “Do you find amusing my stories?”

“Dada iz Wookie’s mama” - Ryeowook giggled softly- “Wookie ‘n Kyunnie’s mama”

Heechul’s heart broke. He didn’t expect that. Ryeowook probably thought he didn’t have a mom. He therefore had been ‘studying’ how it worked and believed he must have been born from an egg.

“Wookie, you did have a mom” - Heechul corrected the boy - “But she is not longer here. She went to heaven remember? I have shown you her pictures and—“

“Nuh” - Ryeowook shook his head - “Dada iz Wookie’s mama. Dada zat eggy”

“I...” - Heechul looked at Leeteuk but the babysitter was asking him to stop - “Uhum”

Ryeowook hugged Heechul tightly and rubbed his face against him. The boy seemed to be happier than ever. Heechul was worried about it, but Leeteuk thought him not to worry.

“After all, he is a toddler” - Leeteuk smiled softly - “He believes you are his mom as well and... that’s not crazy at all. You are the one raising him so... it makes sense”

“Does this mean he wants a mom?” - Heechul sighed - “I worried this could happen. The triplets often introduce me to their friends’s moms and say I am not married”

“Nah. It means he realized everyone had a mom and he wondered why he didn’t. Now that he believes you are his, he will stop caring about it”

“It’s unfair to Hani” - Heechul sulked

“He will understand when older” - Leeteuk patted his friend’s back - “At least he is happy”

The long weekend ended. Heechul arrived earlier than usual at daycare to pick up his kids. He was greeted by the twins’s teachers who invited him to wait inside the classroom.

“We are almost done” - The teacher smiled to him - “The kids are almost ready”

“What is this?” - Heechul was checking the wall amused by all the drawings - “The kids sure worked hard”

“The kids were supposed to draw their parents” - The teacher Informed - “But you can’t really tell what they drew at all”

“Its me” - Heechul felt warm as he found his boys’s drawings - “And this one...”

“EH” - Leeteuk choke when Heechul explained him the drawings - “NO WAY”

“Apparently, the twins believe you and I are a couple” - Heechul raised his eyebrows - “Funny thing is, they both say I’m ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ but you are an ‘uncle’. We are lucky that the teachers don’t take seriously what the kids say”

“Well, If Ryeowook believes he came from an egg... I guess everything is possible”

“MAMA!” - Henry chirped - “MAMA!”

“What the...” - Heechul stared at the baby that stretched his arms towards Leeteuk - “Oh boy”

“I’m not ‘mama’ Henry” - Leeteuk shook his head - “I’m Uncle Teuk”

“Mama” - Henry giggled

“He barely speaks but is clear he believes you are his mom” - Heechul laughed - “Oh God”

“It’s not funny” - Leeteuk worried - “He is confused”

“Don’t worry, he will grow up and forget about this”

“But—“

“He will understand when older”

Chapter 106: Authornim, you're back!🥹 and this crazy family as well 🤭

Watching TV is a good way to gain knowledge, so proud of Minnie here. But, like the saying goes, too much is bad, so don't do it fora long long time.

Henry being jealous of Cherry, aigoo, protesting by rooming out of Heeyeon's and Heechul's room. 😂

I knew Yesung's case is smelly armpits... and yes, it's hard to undergo puberty. Good thing he have supportive guardians

I wonder if Teuk's phone call with his real uncle is about his own schooling or his identity or a teaching oppurtunity?

I'm excited for Cheery's arrival... though I'm hoping for a teuk-centric as well. I wonder if they'll tell the kids regarding teuk's real attachment to them.

By the way, I find it cute when Hae and Henry fight for Teuk 🤭🥰, I like those moments, you know

I love everything, author, waiting for the next... 😊😊😊

Chapter 105: Here's me thinking Mina wanted to give the role to Mimi because she wanted him to practice and be better like his 2 older brothers. Their family are sweet 💙

Mrs. Kim and Teuk's "talk" made me cry. I envy them. Their love is so pure!

Aww, Minnie... for a second I think it's his hypothermia kicking in. Good thing it's ear infection.

Thanks authornim. Looking forward to the next

Chapter 105: Sungminin annesi için özür dilemesi çok tatlıydı. Gerçekten ince düşünen bir çocuk. Leeteuk un bayan Kim'in yanında küçük bir çocuğa dönüşmesini seviyorum.
