Concept: ANGST & FLUFF 

//Just to introduce myself my name is A Ra. It was just a typical day at the café I’m working at. Another busy day, I’m all hog up at the coffee machine trying to do all the orders as fast as I can. Back facing the counter, as the only job I have to do was drinks order. I’m a barista at this café. While my friend, which I had made when I first moved her 3 months ago, Soo Mi. Was tendering the cashier and orders.//

*Ding*

//Sound of the café door opening, indicating a new customer is coming in. A guy walked through the door. Wearing a black fitted t-shirt tucked in his black ripped jeans with a black bucked belt. While wearing a black hoodie over it, with both of the sleeves raised to his arms. He had dark black hair which was gel back. His skin was a little tan, with evenly thick eyebrows. He has double eyes lids, while the shape of his eyes was a little droopy like a puppy. Button nose and perfectly pink lips. Perfect jaw lines as if it was sculpted and a cleft chin. He walked in to the café, going to the counter.//

Soo Mi: What would you like to order, sir?

“2 vanilla latte with extra foam”

Soo Mi: Sure. Would you like to have anything else?

//Raising his left hand, pointing at the person behind the counter. Who was back facing him tendering all the drinks order to even notice anyone has come in.//

“Her”

Soo Mi: Ehmmm? Her?

“Yes, Her”

Soo Mi: I’ll try. So, it would be a total of ₩14,500. Thank you. I’ll serve it to you when the drinks are done. Have a seat.

//The guy went a table which was near the entrance, which was behind a pillar. Which is blocking the view of the counter.//

Soo Mi: YA! A RA!

A Ra: what? I’m busy!

Soo Mi: There’s this handsome guy that just order this. And when I ask him if he needs anything else he said that he wanted you.

A Ra: What kind of joke is that.

Soo Mi: I have no idea. So, are you going to see him?

A Ra: No way. I have too much on my hands.

Soo Mi: Okay, but here is his order.

A Ra: (Vanilla Latte with extra foam? It can’t be right? No. No way it’s him.)

Soo Mi: Sir, here is your vanilla latte with extra foam.

“Where is she?”

Soo Mi: I’m sorry sir. As you can see we are very busy right now. Our barista has to comply with all the orders.

“What time does her shift ends?”

Soo Mi: 11 pm sir.

“Okay, I’ll wait.”

Soo Mi: ? But it’s only 11 am in the morning.

“I’ll wait.”

Soo Mi: Okay.

Soo Mi: A RA! He says that he will wait for your shift to end.

A Ra: What? Whatever. Just let him wait. He’s going to give up sooner or later.

Soo Mi: He doesn’t look like he will. You sure you don’t want to go see him?

A Ra: Nope. Not a chance. I don’t even know anyone around here.

Soo Mi: He looks like he knows you.

A Ra: Not possible. I have no family or relatives. I have no one.

Soo Mi: Well, you have me!

A Ra: I know! And I’m grateful for that. But I would be more grateful if you send all of these drinks out as well.

Soo Mi: I’m on it!

*11pm*

Soo MI: I’ll lock up today.

A Ra: OMG! Finally! It was such a hectic day! I’m so done with work.

Soo Mi: Just for your info. The guy is still waiting for you.

A Ra: What? Is he crazy? Whatever. I’m just going straight through that door not even looking at him.

Soo Mi: Just be careful.

A Ra: Don’t worry.

A RA’S POV

//I grab my things, and headed to the door. Eyes glue to the café door, slowly approaching it. While I passed by the pillar, I could see a guy sitting there at the corner of my eyes. (That must be the guy Soo Mi is talking about.) Ignoring that presence, I headed straight to the door. But before I could even go further. That guy stopped infront of me, preventing me to get out of the café. He put his hand out infront of me. Making me lift my head, to look at him. He smiled while saying “Let’s go home”. My world stops at that moment.//

(The guy infront of me. Him. Is smiling? Smiling like it’s the first time we had just met. I’ve never seen him smile for so long. Yet he is standing here with a smile on his face and a gentle glaze in his eyes. Asking me to go home. Someone like him, who couldn’t even stay up for me and wait 10 minutes for me to be done showering before we go to sleep together. Is here? Waiting for me for almost 12 hours.

What does he want from me? I thought I made it clear that day, I was never going back to him. Why did he come and find me? It’s not like him to come all the way here, just to get me home. It’s not like I’m important to him. Well, not after we got married and he was busy with his work all day. He always puts his work before me. That’s why I’m shocked. Why is he here on a Monday when he was supposed to be working? I guess all the work as gotten to him. He looked terrible, more terrible then the day I left him 3 months ago. His bags under his eyes, have gotten worst. But he is standing here smiling at me. Something I thought is impossible.

Because he was never the type to come to people. Everyday when he come home from work he would look terrible. I would greet him at the door. But his mood would be bad, and he would be too tired to even talk. He never smiled at me. We would eat dinner together that I have prepared. And he would get to shower first after that. And by the time I was done with my shower, he would already be in bed sleeping sounding. Never waiting up for me. Before I go to sleep, I would always give him a massage even though he was already sound asleep. It was a cycle every day. I understand, he is having a hard time at work. That’s why I didn’t mind. But I would also prefer him to talk to me about his day, that way I could understand more of how he is feeling.

 But he never did. That’s why I got tired and left. I didn’t want to leave him. I loved him, I still do. But that day, he didn’t even chase me, he didn’t even show any emotion and most importantly, he didn’t care. So why is he here now? What is he trying to do? I can never understand what he was thinking anymore and how he feel anymore after we got married. It was like everything has changed. He used to be the sweetest guy. Used to.)

//I was snapped out of my thoughts by him.//

“Baby?”

A Ra: (Wow, I never heard that in such a long time.) I’m not going.

“….. Please?”

A Ra: (Wow, he even said please. That’s another new one.) I know how this is going to end. It’s going to be the same after I go back. So, I’m never going back with you.

//He grabs my hand and swing it over his shoulder. While his other hand wrap around my leg carrying me up totally on his shoulder.//

Soo Mi: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PUT HER DOWN!

“She is my wife”

A Ra: I’M NOT! PUT ME DOWN!

Soo Mi: Put her down!

‘Bye, I’ll be taking her with me today. I’ll send her to work tomorrow on time. Don’t worry.’

A Ra: KIM JONG HYUN!

Jong Hyun: //Chucked// You finally called my name.

//He brought me to his car. Letting me down, and getting me in his car while fastening my seat beat. Before closing the door and getting to the driver side.//

A Ra: What are you doing? Where are you bringing me

Jong Hyun: ……

A Ra: YA!

Jong Hyun: ….

A Ra: (I give up. Why am I trying to talk to him? He never changes. He is still the same. He never talks to me and does whatever he likes.)

//He park his car at a hotel car park. Getting off. He got to my side and unbuckled my seat belt. Pulling me out of the car. Dragging me to the hotel lift, all the way up to the room. When both of us got in the room he make sure to locked the door.//

A Ra: Why did you bring me here?!

Jong Hyun: There’s clothes in the bathroom. Go get a shower.

A Ra: I’m out! //Getting to the room door, trying to open all the lock to get out. But before I could he pulled me facing him and slam me to the door with my back. Slamming both his hands on the door with my head in between his hands. With his head down not looking at me.//

Jong Hyun: Please. Don’t go. Just tonight. Don’t go. I promise I won’t do anything to you. Just. Don’t go.

A Ra: (Why is he doing this? Why does he sound so desperate, as if he really needs me.) Fine.

//I pushed him away getting in to the shower. After I come out, he went in. I was drying my hair, when he was done. He went straight to bed. (Well, as always. It’s not surprising.) I got on to the bed as well, facing his side. But he was back facing me. (How long have I not stare at his back before I fell asleep to it. How long has it been, being so close to him? How long has it been, since I last felt his warm.)

I decided to close my eyes and sleep. Telling myself I’ll be alright. It’s is just for a night. But it wasn’t long since I close my eyes, when I felt the bed shifting. (Is he looking at him? It can’t be. But I can feel his warm breath on me. He is so close to me. What am I going to do? Why is my heart beating so fast.) I was snapped up of my thought when I suddenly hear him speak. //

Jong Hyun: I’m Sorry. I know I said I won’t do anything to you. But I can’t help myself.

A Ra: (He is so close to me and his warm and gentle voice I didn’t get to hear for so long. I missed that.) //Before I knew it and try to understand what he was talking about. He slips his arms between my neck. While his other arm wrap around my waist pulling me closer to him. I was still closing my eyes. Hoping he would think that I was already asleep.//

Jong Hyun: I know you’re not sleeping. Your heart beat is racing, I can feel it. But so is mine.

 //Taking one of my hands putting it on his chest to make me feel his heartbeat. His heartbeat was like mine, it was racing. (Why?)//

Jong Hyun: I’m sorry I force you here. I just couldn’t get the fact that you really left me. Every day I go home thinking I could see your face to make my day better. But I forget that you’re not there anymore. The bed felt so empty without you, I couldn’t sleep. I was going crazy without you. But I know it’s my fault that you left. I was always busy with work and drained by the time I was home. I couldn’t tell you what I been through because I don’t want you to worry. I never show you how much I love and appreciate you. And I never talked to you much. But you stay through everything. I was thinking a lot before I come to you. I know you wouldn’t want someone like me back. I understand. So, thank you for staying for the night. With you here. I can finally get a good night sleep. //Kissing the top of my head.// Good night baby. I missed you. I always will.

//Those are the last words I heard before drifting in to a deep sleep.//

*1 week later*

Jr’s Pov

(I’m so drained! At least I’m finally home. Arghhh… I’m so hungry. But I have nothing to eat. Forget it! I’ll just sleep through this hunger. )

//Opening the door to my house. As the opened. I thought I was dreaming. I rubbed my eyes, hoping what I see was true. I closed my eyes and opened it again. It’s still the same. But how, why. Her. She was standing at the door in our house greeting me. As if this was a dream. A dream I hope would come true. She is finally back?//

A Ra: Welcome back.

//I ran to her hugging her. Not caring if I was really dreaming anot.//

A Ra: You must be hungry. I cooked your favourite, that includes your potato pancake as well.

//Breaking the hug. She pulled me to the dinning table to sit down. We had a nice meal together. All I could do was stare at her face while eating. Because I couldn’t believe my eyes. After I was done, I went to shower a usual and she went after me. I stayed up waiting for her to finish showering. Because I’m scared that if I go back to sleep again. Everything is just a lie. And what I’m seeing was not real. I was snapped out of it when she talked.//

A Ra: Why aren’t you sleeping yet?

Jong Hyun: Waiting for you?

A Ra: It’s okay. You don’t have to. I know you’re tired. Let’s go and sleep then.

//She got on to our bed, the empty side. Her side, filling the bed up with her presence. I couldn’t help but hugged her. Because I’m scared that when I wake up she wouldn’t be here anymore.//

A Ra: You know, I’m not leaving right. You don’t have to hug me this tight.

Jong Hyun: But why?

A Ra: Why what?

Jong Hun: After everything that I’ve done. You came back.

A Ra: How could I not. I miss my baby.

Jong Hyun: I promise, I’m going to cherish you from now on. I’m going to treat you better.

A Ra: You will be too tired. It’s okay. I don’t want you to overwork yourself.

Jong Hyun: I would rather over work myself then to lose you again.

A Ra: Get to sleep. You still have work tomorrow.

Jong Hyun: I love you. Good night baby. //Placing a kiss on her head. It really felt like a dream come true. I wish this would last forever.//

A Ra: I love you too baby. Good night.

*Next morning*

//Walking up, but I still refuse to open my eyes and get out of bed. Surprisingly, I got a good night sleep. I haven gotten such a good sleep ever since, that night at the hotel with her. It was then, memories of yesterday came back to me. Making me shot out of bed. Because I feel no presence beside me. I woke up, wide awake. Looking at the other side of the bed that was still neat. It was then it hit me. It was all a dream.

I sat at my bed side with tears filling up my eyes. Tears started falling as I finally realise, I could never get her back. Just then a warm hand started creasing my head. (This warm!) I shot my head up to look for the warm I have felt. (Her. She is really here.) I pulled her hand to me, wanting her to be closer to me. Which made her fall on me instead, I didn’t really care. Hugging her tightly.//

A Ra: What’s wrong? Did you hurt yourself? Why are you crying?

Jong Hyun: I thought it was all a dream. You were not there when I wake up. I thought I could never get you back.

A Ra: I was just making breakfast.

Jong Hyun: DON’T DO THAT AGAIN! Don’t leave my side until I wake up.

A Ra: But I need to make breakfast for you to eat.

Jong Hyun: You don’t have to. I just want you to be by myside. I don’t want to wake up without you anymore. It’s scary.

A Ra: Alright I won’t. Now. Go and eat your breakfast, you need to go to work.

Jong Hyun: I don’t have to.

//I broke the hug, pulling her on to our bed again. Covering both of us with blanket. Hugging her close to me while I go back to sleep.//

A Ra: You’ll be late for work.

Jong Hyun: I don’t have to go today.

A Ra: What? Are you even hearing yourself? Are you okay?

Jong Hyun: You’re my priority now. Skipping one day of work is no big deal. I just want to cuddle with you the whole day. The weather is really nice.

A Ra: Are you sure you’re okay?

Jong Hyun: Yup, I love you baby.

A Ra: But the food is going to get cold.

Jong Hyun: Let it be. I just want to be here with you now.

A Ra: Okay my baby boy. Whatever you say.
