Itโs Saturday. Dani came to the meeting place to meet her blind date at a certain 3 star hotelโs restaurant and Gion is as well at the same place with his own blind date. In fact, they are just actually seated back to back. Gion is sitting on a chair just behind Daniโs hence; they could effortlessly eavesdrop on each otherโs conversation.
โWhatโs your perception about marriage?โ Daniโs blind date, Don, asked.
โWell, marriage is a sacred matter for me. Itโs the most core relationship between man and woman because it is sanctified by God and united by Him.โ
The same inquiry was asked to Gion by his date, Janice.
โMarriage? Itโs just a title now. A piece of paper you can tear into pieces whenever you please. You get hitched but once things go out of your expectations you end it.โ
Don and Janice can only smile at them.
โI think people who regard marriage as a game are narrow-minded ones and those who donโt believe in it are really pitiful.โ
โWhat about out of marriage? Do you agree with that?โ Don asked again.
โOf course not! Like marriage, is sacred that only married couple must do. It really makes me sad that most of the people in our generation now consider it just a mere enjoyment but once problems occur they donโt know how to take responsibility. Whatโs more saddening is through it disease could be spread out. They treat it as something they could do as they please and whenever they feel the heat. You donโt do it just with anyone you meet in clubs or to someone thatโs not even your spouse. Thatโs really wrong in my opinion but, people have already forgotten about that.โ
โ? It makes everybody happy! And definitely I agree. I mean, why not? Weโre already in modern days and old ways are already not a trend anymore. Moreover, people who canโt move forward from the old ways and accept the new world are the ones who donโt flourish. They are forever stuck.โ
โTrend? So what? Why would you follow a trend when you know that itโs wrong? Not because the world changes, you also have to change along it. The world changes but not the word of God.โ
โOld fashioned people are pitiful, because they are always the one who always get left behind. They should have just entered the seminary or the convent and become a priest or a nun.โ
โLiberated people are more pitiful because they actually know nothing.โ
โI really dislike spoilsport people. If they donโt want to be happy then, they should not also stop others who want to be happy. We only live once so enjoy it, do everything you want that makes you happy rather than die doing nothing that made you happy and that is whatโs really regretful.โ
โHa! I beg to disagree. Thatโs not being a spoilsport, thatโs discerning what is really right from wrong. Liberated ones just want to enjoy but what they donโt know is while they enjoy everything they want their soul is already burning in Hell.โ
โWhat the! Oy!โ Exasperated by what he had heard, Gion finally swung his attention to the woman seated behind him and Dani annoyingly turned to him at the same time.
โOh?!โ They both exclaimed in surprise seeing each other.
โGrandma?!โ
โPlayboy?!โ
โYou know each other?โ Don and Janice asked in unison looking at them curiously.
Gion smirked while Daniโs lip twitched up to the side while looking at each other.
Their blind date went just fine even after the exchange of (heated) opinions between the two of them but for sure that date wonโt have a follow up one, which they are glad to know. After their blind dates left, Dani and Gion crossed paths again at the lobby of the hotel.
Gion walked towards Dani and promptly stated, โI see youโre still an old-fashioned woman.โ
โAnd youโre still the same playboy from 5 years ago.โ
Gion just conceitedly shrugged his shoulders. โWas the guy earlier your new boyfriend?โ He wiggled his brows once to her.
โNope. Mom and Dad just set me up on a blind date.โ Dani started her pace and Gion followed her.
โWhoa! Youโre actually going on blind dates now, huh?โ
โShut up.โ She dismissed the matter. โIs that your new girl again?โ
โWell, Mom set me up on a blind date, too. Sheโs so desperate to marry me off.โ Dani laughed at him. He eyed her.
โThatโs because youโre such a pain in the head.โ
โHuh, Grandma, if you don't know I am now a professional and a sought after photographer. I am earning my own money from my own business.โ
โOohโฆ what a smooth way to meet a lot of women, huh?โ
โSorry to say but they are the one whoโs coming to me. What can I do? Iโm a born girl magnet.โ
โGoodness. I wasnโt informed itโs going to be windy today.โ She fanned herself and gazed at him.
Gion judgingly eyed her but he smiled eventually and so is she. โItโs nice to see you again, Gran.โ
โYeah. Nice to see you again, too, playboy.โ And he laughs at that.
