Chapter 03

Dreams

"I'll see you later for dinner Yura!" Minah called out as she stepped out the door for class. Yura gave her a quick wave and smile before settint out her easel and paint supplies. After deliberating from last month's events and realizing that she lacked an art identity, Yura decided to try and find it. She didn't care whether it would take her a semester or a lifetime, just as long as she would find it.

"I need to make this painting good..." Yura mumbled. Suddenly, a light bulb went off in her brain. What if she set up everything as how she had when she prepared for her first exam? She got a 100/100 on that exam. Not only did this earn respect from her classmates, but even praises from her admirable professor. Taking out a bucket of paint bottles, she began arranging everything in a unique order. As soon as she was done with that, she lifted the bed sheets off her bed to reveal the many art supplies she stored there.

"This needs to be perfect." She grunted as she pulled a few blank canvases from the underside of her bed. Placing one on an easel, and the rest leaning against her bedside drawer, she unfolded her chair and placed it in front of her canvas. Taking a step back, Yura analyzed every angle, making sure that everything was in the correct place.

"No no no." She gasped as she noticed that she was missing a few paint brushes. Luckily, she found them on her study desk. She quickly grabbed them and ran back to her easel. Her hands were sweating from the sudden spike of anxiety that she had just received from the incident. Instinctively, she began rubbing her sweaty palms against the course material of her jeans.

From the hole that was in her wall, Hyeri was watching Yura fussing and staring at her mini art studio in her dorm. Hyeri couldn't help but feel that there was something wrong with her friend, but shrugged it off thinking that perhaps her friend has just been stressed lately. The poor girl has been getting a lot of work lately. Not only that, but the other night Yura explained to the girls that one of her art professor was offereing to nominate four students to be in the upper classmen end of semester showcase. Yura reiterated a million times that being in that even though this showcase was just a general one, it is secretly more so as a competition for freshmen to get their name out there. Not to forget that being in that showcase as a freshman is extremely impressive.

"Okay...everything is good now..." Yura whispered. Letting out a relieved sigh, she sat down on her chair chair and began taking out some acrylics. Today was oddly warm for autumn, but it inspired Yura to take out her warm-toned colors.

"Hey, I don't think Yura would appreciate you spying on her." Sojin quietly warned Hyeri as she stepped into the dorm after finishing classes for the day.

"Sorry Sojin! It's just that...don't you think Yura has been acting a bit weird lately?" Hyeri inquired as she stepped away from the hole.

Sojin only shrugged as she pulled out her textbooks from her backpack. "I'm not exactly sure. Even though we're close friends, that doesn't mean we know everything about her."

This only made Hyeri even more nervous. "I don't know Sojin...something inside of me is saying that there's something wrong with Yura. I don't think she even knows that about herself yet either..." Taking one more glance, she saw her friend mixing a beautiful red-orange color on her palette.

"Relax Hyeri everything will be okay. Chocopie? I got it from a friend today in lab!"

"Yura!!"

Yura had just finished her ceramics class and was just exiting the studio when she heard Woobin call her.

"Woobin?! What the hell are you doing here?" Yura was shocked to see Woobin standing outside her classroom. He only shrugged in response and began to walk back to the dorms with Yura.

"We need to discuss more about you and Jonghyun." He said.

Yura rolled her eyes, "Woobin whatever your plan is it's not going to work. Do you remember wing night?"

Woobin's brain then conjured up wing night in his head. The night's memories rolled out with Yura and Jonghyun sitting across from each other like a couple on a date. It was a beautiful picture, no doubt about it. However, the next memory had just spoiled it. Youngkwang wanted to order another round of soy sauce wings, and gestured a nearby waiter. However, she had a tray of beer with her and accidentally bumped into Yura, getting icy cold beer all over the poor girl. Yelping from the cold, Yura abruptly stood up, accidentally knocking over the table which it's contents inconveniently all landed on Jonghyun. The next thing he knew, Yura was jumping around covered in beer, and Jonghyun was letting out colorful curses as he was prying chicken bones off of himself.

Woobin winced from the memory, "Okay first of all, my plan would've went well if Youngkwang hadn't tried to order more!"

Yura considered his reasoning, "I guess I can't blame you, what happened wasn't your fault at all."

Woobin smiled, "See?!" Grabbing Yura's head, he began giving her an old fashioned noogie. Yura yelled out in response whilst laughing at Woobin's actions.

Sungjoon was folding his newly done laundry when he heard a squeal outside of his opened window. He peered out to see Woobin and Yura messing around as they were on their way back to the dorm.

"That's weird, I thought Woobin didn't like Yura." Sungjoon stated as he observed the two playing around.

"What do you mean by that?" Youngkwang, his roommate, asked him as he was flipping through a magazine on his bed. His left leg being iced after an incident during soccer practice.

"Look outside the window!" Sungjoon directed with his left hand, which was also holding a pair of boxers.

Youngkwang did his best to lean over without moving his left leg. Craning his neck, he saw Woobin and Yura joking with each other before they were out of his sight.

"Hm, maybe someone likes a someone."

"That doesn't make sense though. He's been trying to set up Yura and Jonghyun together." Sungjoon pointed out.

"Well we don't know. I'll text him to come up here so we can talk."

"There's nothing going on I promise!" Woobin cried out as Sungjoon threw pair of socks at him.

"Then why do you two keep on acting like...like that?!" Youngkwang asked while trying to hold back his laughter after Sungjoon's boxers landed on Woobin's face.

Grabbing the boxers, Woobin threw it back at Sungjoon with all of the strength he could muster. Woobin continued, "She's honestly like a little sister to me...I haven't felt this since..."

Soon, a somber mood took up the room with Sungjoon and Woobin exchanging glances, finally understanding why Woobin was like this with Yura.

"You've never had someone like your little sister since..." Youngkwang whispered.

"Since Soomi died." Woobin finished for him. Before he entered college, his sister Soomi was involved in a car accident. The girl was hit by a drunk driver when she was on her way back from a night study session at the library with her friends. This affected Woobin deeply since the two were extremely close. So close that Woobin even deliberated about pulling out of college in order to grieve more. But his parents and friends pushed him to continue, reminding him that Soomi would want her older brother to continue with his life just for her. Now in his second year, he realized that his family and friends were right, and that Soomi would've been proud that her older brother was moving on and no longer grieving as much.

"I just couldn't help but get involved right when I saw Yura stare at Jonghyun...Ever since Soomi's death, I realized that I can never do certain things now...I'll never be able to see Soomi go to college, get her first job...her first boyfriend. What's worse is that I will never witness her walking down the aisle with her love..." Woobin couldn't help but cover his face with his hands.

"So when Yura came along, she became like a little sister, and now you want to help her and do the things you could have done if Soomi was still alive." Youngkwang concluded.

"But even though this does have something to do with Soomi, I probably would have still done this regardless for Yura. It's like having two sisters" Woobin admitted.

Tossing some rubbish into the trash can, Jonghyun went back to his desk to continue studying. He had an exam coming up, and he could not afford any distractions. He may have to cancel coming to dinner tonight just for the sake of getting as much study time as much as possible. Unfortunately, that meant that he wouldn't be able to see Yura. He secretly smiled to himself whilst reviewing his logic homework. Although he would venemously deny it if his friends were to ever accuse him of taking interest in Yura, he would eventually admit it. Love at first sight was something he objected, and even frowned upon whenver his friends were cast in that spell. But now he understood his friend's antics, because he was now under that spell.

Never had someone entranced him as much as Yura. From her unique laugh to her hearty eating, there was just something about the girl that attracted him so. But this caused him to be so shy and quiet near her, so much that he barely ever uttered a single word during dinner.

"Jonghyun open up! We're so hungry!" A knock abruptly ended his study session. Sighing, he got up and went to go open the door which revealed a hangry Sungjoon.

"Everyone else is waiting in Yura's and Minah's room." Sungjoon explained for the other seYen absences. Jonghyun nodded.

"I don't know, I think I'll skip out on this one. I have an exam tomorrow." Jonghyun sighed while scratching the back of his head.

"Well that's unforunate, because Yura is coming.." Woobin winked at Jonghyun.

"She always comes to dinner?" Jonghyun confusingly responded.

Woobin couldn't help but let out a sigh, "Alright, have fun studying. Do you want me to bring something back for you?"

Jonghyun shook his head, "I'll be good." And with that, the two friends parted ways.

"It's unfortunate Jonghyun couldn't come, right Yura?" Woobin asked as he opened the door for everyone at the dorm.

Is he trying to expose me?! Yura angrily thought. "Uh..um yeah I mean eating is necessary to survive." She hesitantly answered.

Minah grinned, "I always look forward to our dinners, it's like hanging out with your friends, but every day!"

"Except it always consists of you four eating like pigs and we're just watching." Youngkwang joked, which earned a collective hard slap from all four girls. They all then entered the elevator, feeling cramped like a can of sardines.

"I just wanted to ask Yura since you decided to get him something." Woobin pointed at the plastic bag Yura was holding. A blush emerged on the girl's face out of embarassment.

"What's so wrong with being nice?" Yura retaliated.

"Nothing." Sungjoon laughed. The elevator reached to the fourth floor.

"Are you coming Yura?" Sojin asked.

Yura shook her head, "No, I'll stop by Jonghyun's room to give him his food. I'll be back soon!" And with that, the three other girls waved good bye as the elevator doors closed.

Once the elevator got to the seventh floor, the boys lead Yura to their rooms.

"This is Jonghyun's room! I share it with him. Youngkwang's and Sungjoon's room is right across from us here." Woobin guided Yura. Opening his door, he entered with Yura following him behind like an obedient puppy.

Jonghyun looked up from his textbook to see Woobin and Yura enter the room. Wait Yura?!

"Hey Jonghyun, someone was nice enough to bring back dinner for you." Woobin grinned. Yura walked over to Jonghyun's desk and placed the plastic bag on top.

"You need to eat regardless if you have exams or not." She reminded him as she pushed the bag towards him. Jonghyun was hesitant to take it. Looking at her face, the light from his lamp was making her eyes more bright and her lips a much brighter red. He could only gulp in response.

"Take it! I insist! If you really feel that bad, you can always repay me sometime in the future." Yura kept pushing the bag towards him. This time, he did take it, and thanked her quietly.

"I got you bibimbap, but I asked them to put the hot pepper sauce on the side since I know you're sensitive to spicy food." Yura added.

Jonghyun looked up in surprise, "How do you know I'm sensitive to spicy food?" He asked, almost in amazement for her innate knowledge of people.

"A few weeks ago when we were at that noodle soup restaurant, and you started choking on a green chili pepper. Those aren't that spicy, so I figured you couldn't handle spice very well." Yura laughed loudly, her arms clutching her stomach. Jonghyun could only blush in response, feeling quite embarassed that she had actually seen that. He was absolutely sure that no one else saw that incident.

Woobin couldn't help but feel happy for Yura and Jonghyun. It seemed like the two were making good conversation. In fact, it was amazing to see Jonghyun even engaged in a conversation to begin with. He smiled to himself. You did well today Woobin.
