The last thing that Seulgi remembered seeing was a bright flash of light that emerged as the Sun and Moon finished speaking before she lost consciousness.

The next thing she knew, she was completely surrounded by infinite darkness. She looked around and called out until a small, faint light appeared and circled around her. She reached out to touch it but as she did it started to glow a bit brighter. Steadily, it grew in size until it started to form a figure of a lady. Again, the light circled around her and it shifted to a different person. With each turn around her, the figures shifted and changed until the light grew brighter and brighter. Then suddenly, there was a soft poof as the light formed a spiral. From it emerged a being. She was also a creature of the light but unlike the others, she was clearly formed and Seulgi could see her face.

She was very gentle looking with soft eyes and lips. Her hair was wavy and long. There was something about her that seemed very familiar although Seulgi had never seen her in her life before. Then suddenly, the lady’s eyes lit up. All the figures that Seulgi had seen started to form around her until she was completely surrounded. Their eyes all glowed the same way the lady’s did. The lady stepped forward towards and extended her hand to Seulgi, revealing a small, faint light. It floated around her, just like the first one did, but it also started to approach her. As it made contact with her skin, Seulgi could feel a warmth grow inside of her and completely consume her. The eyes of the figures around her continued to glow brighter and brighter. Seulgi shut her eyes as there was a burst of light. When she opened them again, all the figures were gone except the lady and a majestic bird. They stared hard at Seulgi, who was suddenly rendered unable to move. The bird shrieked at her and before Seulgi knew it, it started to fly straight towards her. She tried her best to fight against whatever was keeping her frozen but she stayed still as the bird got closer and closer.

Just as it was about to hit her, it disappeared and everything went black.

Namjoon looked curiously at the frail girl that laid on the bed. It was the first time he had actually studied her face since he had seen her. She had been wearing a mask when they were first introduced and he had been so busy trying to bring her to her lodgings that he didn’t properly look at her.

As one of the oldest deities to exist, Namjoon, at least his consciousness, if not his physical form, had seen a fair share of peculiar things. He had witnessed the birth and rebirth of the world over and over again. He had seen men fall and rise. He had seen more than he cared to remember.

It also meant that he had seen his fair share of songbirds. When he had first seen the girl, he hadn’t thought much of her. She was just another songbird, after all. But after everything, after the peculiar light she emitted and the appearance of the Crown spirit as she sang, he couldn’t help but look at her once more.

It was then that he realized that there was something much more to this girl then he had realized. There was a specific aura around her that he had not felt in so long. Before he could begin to recall where he had felt it before, the door of the room opened and two handsome men entered.

“Taehyung. Jungkook,” he greeted as the three shared a respectful bow to each other. “I suppose you are in charge of caring for the girl upon her arrival. The crown prince?”

Taehyung shook his head in reply and the two shared a knowing look. “He is preoccupied at the moment.”

“Right,” Namjoon replied. “I shall leave her in your care then.” He started to move towards the exit when he couldn’t help but glance once more at the sleeping figure. “She’s an interesting one. Take care of her.”

With a mysterious bow, he took his leave.

“What was that all about?” Taehyung asked as he turned to Jungkook.

His friend had already stepped forward to look at the sleeping girl. “Namjoon says a lot of things we don’t understand. He’s seen more things than us. It remains to be seen what he means.”

Taehyung stepped closer to his friend. “I suppose we should begin the healing process. Her body will need all the treatments she can take in order to recover from the influx of power and energy she received.”

Jungkook simply nodded. Taehyung called in the servants that had been waiting outside the door. They were two ladies, clad in flowy fabric and their faces covered by masks. They bowed to the two gods before they went toward Seulgi.
