Hi everyone!

As you probably read from the title, yes, this is an announcement regarding the hiatus of this fanfic. Over the past month, I've been doing my best to write the next chapter. While doing so, I've come to the realization that I don't actually like how the story is unfolding. It gets harder and harder for me to write something cohesive and that makes sense to the past chapters. I think a big part of it is the pace of the story; I realized that it was too slow during the earlier chapters and now I constantly feel like I have to keep the plot moving so that the story won't reach a hundred chapters. I feel quite uninspired in what I'm writing and thus, feel demotivated to actually finish it.

However, I'm completely in love with the concept of "Songbird" itself; reimagining these characters as gods and goddesses and the stories they tell bring me so much joy. I wasn't expecting this story to go the way it did and now, I'm quite conflicted with how the present chapters can make sense with what I have in mind. With that said, I will be putting Songbird on a hiatus while I rewrite the whole thing from scratch. I will probably be retaining some main elements but it will follow a different plot and context. I hope that it will be just as enjoyable to all of you as the original version was. I'm also very excited for it and I'm currently planning and detailing it more carefully
