Your POV

~

'would you like to go on a date with me _____ ?'

~

It was a sunny Friday morning and you were rushing to the bus stop, hoping you weren't late. Thankfully, you could see that the bus hadn't left yet and people were still getting on. You also saw Eric standing in line to get on the bus; he turned to you and waved, flashing a cute smile. You were friends with Eric since the beginning of middle school, and ended up attending the School of Performing Arts in Seoul together. You always had a small crush on him, but didn't have the confidence to tell him since he was one of your closest friends - you were scared it could possibly ruin your friendship with him.

You panted as you finally reached the bus stop. Eric put his arm around your shoulders and looked down at you, lightly teasing you for almost being late again.

Eric happened to live in the same neighbourhood, so you went to school on the bus with him every morning. Whenever you didn't make it on time, Eric would try his best to stall time for you by persuading the driver to wait a while. You were always thankful to him for that. You sat with him on the bus, and he would always have fun stories to tell and always managed to make you laugh even when you weren't having the best day. 

When you reached school, Eric smiled softly and waved goodbye saying that he'll see you later, and went off with his other friends, Juyeon and Kevin. His smile always made you melt a little inside.

During class, you stared outside the window at the birds that flew past. You were a hardworking student, but sometimes, school was tiring and felt never ending.

After around 2 hours listening to the lecturer teaching, you got a text.

'Hey ______! I was wondering if you were free tomorrow at around 3pm'   - from Eric

You replied, glancing at the teacher, making sure he didn't notice you were texting in class.

'Yep I'm free! Why?' - to Eric

You stared at the small cloud with the three dots that showed he was still typing. It took quite a long time for him to reply; he seemed to take some time to type. You wondered if he was writing a long essay or just kept making mistakes while he was typing.

Finally, you got a reply,

'would you like to go on a date with me _____?' - from Eric

You could feel your face getting slightly hotter and your heart beating much faster than before. You didn't expect this at all! You never thought that Eric would think of you as being more than just a friend.

After a few seconds of thinking hard about what to say back, you finally sent him a text.

'Sure!' -to Eric

After sending the text, you couldn't help but feel like your reply was too simple or sounded kind of weird. Nonetheless, you couldn't wait for tomorrow, and quickly spent the rest of lesson time thinking about what to wear.

-Saturday-

You woke up extra early to get ready for your date. You decided to wear a cute white sweater and some jeans, with some nike sneakers. Eric mentioned that they were going to the movies, so you wanted to make sure you wouldn't be too cold. You took your time to do your makeup as nice as possible and once you were done, you looked at your watch. You still had 30 minutes to spare, but you spent all the time left trying to get rid of your nervousness. Although Eric was a close friend for more than 3 years, you couldn't help but feel like your relationship with him was going to be completely different from today onwards.

'Ding Dong~'

Your parents weren't home since they went out to meet thier old friends over the weekends, and your brother went to hang out with his colleages, so no one else was home.

You quickly went down the stairs and right when you reached the door you took a deep breath and opened the door slowly. And there he was, standing outside your door with a simple black shirt, a jacket and some jeans. You nervously smiled and managed to say 'hi'; you heard him chuckle softly at how nervous you seemed. He gently grabbed your hand and interlocked your fingers with his.

'let's go'

You reached the mall after around 5 minutes of walking. During the walk, he managed to ease you into being able to talk comfortably with him again. His funny jokes and cute actions made you laugh and feel content in his company. 

'We have around an hour before the movie starts, so lets just sit there' he said while pointing towards a bench, close to the cinema they were going to watch the movie in. You agreed since you had a question you wanted to ask him. 

'So when did you start to like me' you directly questioned. You were curious and wanted to ask him ever since he asked you out. He laughed shyly and rubbed the back of his neck. 'Ever since I met you I guess, but I didn't get the courage to ask you until now'. You were genuinely shocked at the fact that he liked you for that long. You smiled at him and pinched his lightly tinted cheek, cooing at his cute confession. You then admitted that you've also liked him since middle school and his face brightens up.

'You don't know how happy that makes me feel'.

Eric told you to wait at the bench whilst he bought the popcorn and coke, and once he was done, you both walked into the cinema. He had bought tickets before hand, so you didn't have to line up to buy tickets.

You both sat in the furthest row from the screen, and shared the popcorn while the ads played. This reminded you of when you used to go for movies with him in middle school, with your other friends. The movie he chose was a horror movie, and once you realised that, you hit him softly on the shoulder in annoyance. He knew you didn't like horror movies so you knew he did this on purpose. 

'It's okay i'm here to protect you' he whispers in your ear in a teasing tone. You roll your eyes but can't help but smile at what he said.

As expected, you could barely watch the movie as you had your eyes shut in every scary scene. You would occasionally hear Eric's soft chuckle when your eyes were closed. He held your hand throughout the entire movie which helped you feel more secure, but didn't make the movie any less scarier.

Once the movie was over, you sighed in relief, proud that you survived 2 hours worth of jump scares and horrific scenes. You knew Eric liked scary movies, as he had mentioned in the past that they make him feel 'thrilled' and 'keep him at the edge of his seat'.

'How was it?' Eric jokingly asks. You look up at him to see him smiling at you. Before you could give him a sarcastic reply, he says 'I honestly couldn't concentrate on the movie because of how cute you were acting'. You huffed, trying to hide the fact that what he said made your heart skip a beat.

The cinema was still quite dim as the credits rolled. Eric stared into your eyes; his eyes were captivating. Although you were both the same age, he always seemed really reliable and mature. His eyes held a feeling of trust and sureness, something built over the years you both had been together. He brushed your hair behind your ear whilst staring into your eyes and slowly leaned in. You closed your eyes as he placed his hand at the back  of your neck. His lips were soft on yours and you could feel his soft breath against your cheek. It only lasted a few seconds before he pulled away. He smiled a sweet, warm smile and brushed the back of his hand over your cheek.

'I love you'.
