Regrets

Description

Eunwoo had no regrets up until that moment. The moment he lost his precious lover. He was being haunted day and night, feeling guilty because he couldn't do anything to get his lover back. Until one day, he was fed up and gathered his things and began searching.

Foreword

"Cha Eunwoo hyung! I told you to stop teasing me!" Moonbin said, giggling. The two boys were celebrating their 2 year anniversary. They had one more year until they are old enough to get married. They've been through a lot; between confessing to their parents, getting through bullying, feeling left out and criticised. Moonbin's dad still doesn't know about his son being gay, nor does he know he's moved in with him. His father had left him when he was only 6 years of age. Moobin hated the man who he's supposed to refer to as his father. He hated having the same blood. Eunwoo changed it all for him. Moonbin and Eunwoo were friends since birth. Their parents and their previous generation were friends so they've known each other their whole lives.

Eunwoo stopped laughing and stared at Moonbin. They caught each other's gaze and soon, they leaned in for a kiss. "I love you, hyung." Moonbin said. "I love you." Eunwoo responded. They were sitting alone in their dorm room, one year away from graduation. They'll finally be free and old enough to get married and start their own family. They sat up straight on the bed and decided to watch TV. Eunwoo got up and took popcorn from the cupboard along with two cans of coke. He jumped back on the bed and under the covers, leaving a quick peck on Moonbin's lips. He grabbed the remote and changed the channel to something that suit the mood.

After about an hour and a half, Moonbin and Eunwoo already fallen asleep in each other's arms, the door breaks open and Moonbin wakes up in shock. "Binnie, are you alright babe?" Eunwoo asks, falling back asleep, thinking that Moobin tripped over an obstacle. "Babe? Ahaha, how sweet. There's no place for such crap in our country. You filthy beings. I'll be taking you, young one. Any last words to your lover?"  The man said, emphasising the word 'lover'. "Who are you, what do you want from me? You have no ri-" Moonbin was interrupted by the mans fist hitting the coffee table. "I said last words for your lover, not questioning me! That's it, you don't deserve it." He said, gripping Moonbin's wrist and tying them together. "Eunwoo baby, I love you! Forgive me." Moonbin said as he was put to sleep instantly by the stranger.

The next day, Eunwoo woke up to see Moonbin wasn't beside him, and the door was on the floor. He got up and went to the kitchen and saw there was a note left on the counter.

"Took your boyfriend for a little trip.

Someone important wants to see him.

Have a nice life.

-Black"

Eunwoo dropped the paper, tears falling onto his face. He fell to the floor, and screamed. That was all he could do. He was sad, heartbroken, lost, alone. His lover was kidnapped and he couldn't save him. He was too ignorant to open his eyes and see what was going on. He felt pathetic for thinking Moonbin tripped when there was a loud bang that fell. He should've known. Eunwoo cried, he didn't know what else he was able to do. He got dressed and decided to go to his mother's house.

"I don't know! I woke up in the middle of the night to a loud bang inside the room. I thought Binnie tripped while getting something without trying to wake me up I-I-I dont know! The man left a note." He said, shivering and crying. His mother hugged him tightly to try and comfort him. "Show me the note." His dad commanded. Eunwoo handed the crumpled note to his dad and looked him in the eye as if asking him to solve this problem immediately.  "Son, this note could mean anything. It doesn't specifically say that Bin is kidnapped. Maybe it's a friend of his." He said. "But dad, a 'friend of his' wouldn't break down our door just to take Binnie somewhere not dangerous. He could've knocked, or called at least if it were that urgent. And who is this Black? Binnie and I know each other's friends more than we know our own friends. If anything, Binnie would tell me who Black is. This is unacceptable, I'm calling the police." Eunwoo said, angrily.

He called the police and they said that if he hasn't returned within the next 24 hours, they will start looking for him. Eunwoo was scared, confused, tired, sad. The 24 hours had ended, Moonbin hadn't returned. The police began searching. They searched the entire town, hospitals, hotels, they even tried to track him down according to the GPS on his phone, but nothing. Eunwoo tried to make them search the city, maybe even the country. They didn't budge. They tracked down his credit card, but nothing. This went on for months and eventually, they gave up on him. Moonbin was forgotten. The only people who still cared were his mother and Eunwoo and his parents. Moon Bin was dead to the world now.

That was the end of it. Eunwoo's life ended there. He lived with his mother for the rest of the year and locked himself up in his room everyday, watching and listening to old files of him and Moonbin. The amazing memories they had, the never-ending love they felt towards each other. The bravery they had of confronting their parents for the first time. The way they supported each other through thick and thin. Eunwoo missed Moonbin's scent spreading throughout their dorm room. The way he slept like a baby.

How could have Eunwoo been the ignorant one this time? He was always the fresh one. Moonbin was always the one who remained asleep no matter what. Why did it have to be the opposite this time? Why when it was a matter of life and death? Eunwoo will forever regret his life for the biggest mistake he's ever done. Losing his soulmate...
