the world as we know it has changed. 

in the decades to follow after the first mutant came to be, the balance of power has shifted. with the idea of "superheroes" taking hold in the minds of the world, it has led far too many into seeking power and control through the abilities which can now be found among those walking our very earth. with more and more "anomalies" sprouting up across the globe , it's to no suprise to see what's followed: increased conflict and near-world-ending fiascos.

but after these "anomalies" — these so called "MUTANTS" began to grow in number, it quickly became evident that just having these so called "superheroes" wasn't enough. someone had to take charge. 

with the creation of the cic, the agency for chaos in calculation, a new era was born: one of caution, one of protection. inviting anyone with a known enhancement or ability to register, cic's facility, known as district x, was built to offer a home to mutants in a safe and inclusive setting while giving them the chance to gain control and mastery of their powers. 

sadly, this proposition has yet been able to be labelled a complete solution. with the cic only delving into its fifth year in running, the process was a rough one, with one too many obstacles to name. from the public growing in their opposition of the idea of a non-governmental organization having free reign to teach these mutants as they wished, the fear based calls of terror have led to many attempting to bring the cic under government control. with the wish to register these so called mutants, and control their livelihood, the beginning of the ideal: 'us vs them' is slowly, but surely on the rise.

mutants. known as the homosuperior, mutants are those born with an active x-gene. with the majority born seemingly normal, many develop their abilities later in life, either due to puberty or conditions of extreme stress. there are however, the few cases of some mutants being born with their abilities or physical mutations already manifested. mutants may be born to mutants parents, human parents who are both carriers of the x-gene, or a mixed mutant-human pairing. the type and strength of mutations varies from person to person, but consistencies can often be found within families. 

chaos in calculation. better known as the cic, this agency was built on the principal that one day humans would see that mutants deserved equal rights, and that until this goal was achieved, that mutants deserved a place to call home. on this belief, a group of mutants formed the cic to guarantee the balance of power, so that someday they might walk among the humans without fear. bankrolled by the illustrious lady x, and run by a group of highly trained mutants, the cic is ever watching, and ever protecting of those needing their care.

mutant power level classification. upon entry to the cic, every mutant is given a classification regarding their power-set and mastery. ranked from class 1 to class 5, with 5 being the highest level registered, the ranks are given based upon how good of a grasp mutants have on their mutations, and how powerful their mutations are considered. with most mutants entering as class 1 mutants, the cic stresses the importance of 'practice makes perfect', and therefore asks their mutants to recognize how big of a role time and effort plays in gaining control.

district x. located on the outskirts of seoul, as the primary base of the cic and those affiliated, the large covering of land boasts a labyrinth of buildings built to suit to the needs of all their residents. from training grounds to community halls, and their dormitory area which welcomes any mutant that comes stumbling their way, district x is fully secured and heavily guarded at all times. with the highest levels of technology installed, access is only available to those entered into their security system; not to mention their constant rotation of highly trained guards keeping watch at all times of the day. district x offers nothing but the best for their mutants, and the district committee do wish you'll enjoy your stay.

x students. with the majority of mutants coming into their abilities during puberty, district x doubles as a school for the younger generation. undertaking the process of training to control their abilities while attending classes just like any other school, district x's school for gifted youngsters accepts anyone no matter their mutation. with young mutants between the ages of thirteen and nineteen considered eligible for enrollment at district x's institute, the mutation levels can range anywhere from class 1 to class 4.

x residents. undoubtedly, district x would be lost without the individuals willing to lend help and assistance to the students and the members of the x force. with some mutants seeking shelter while others simply want a place where they can exist without feeling persecuted. while district x offers all of these things, these residents are still expected to help out in any way they can. whether it be: training, cleaning, organizing student events, auditing a class or two, or just helping some of the younger mutants, these are all good ways for potential residents to earn their keep. x resident's mutation levels can range anywhere from class 1 to class 4.

x force. made up of mutants ranging from classes 3 to 5, the x force is what makes up the main line of defence at district x. considered modern day "superheroes" by the public that approve of mutants and what their abilities can bring to mankind, the purpose of this force is to keep the peace. from teams being sent out to work in harmony with the un, to covert missions undertaken to protect and prevent, there is always work to be done as members of the x force.

marauders. unlike the x force, which the cic consider closer to a leading figurehead in their cause, the band of marauders is a team made up of class 5 mutants under the direct command of lady x. with their creation being borne out of necessity, it is to no suprise that their cause is to do whatever their leader  considers necessary in guaranteeing the protection of the mutants under their care. as a much quieter, private group, only lady x, the members of her council, and the mauraders   themselves know of their existence.

undiscovered mutants. making up the population of mutants not registered within the cic database, these range from mutants with unwakened mutations, mutants who have chosen not to register, mutants who have not been discovered by the cic, and any other unnamed circumstances that have caused the cic to miss these mutants. at the very most, these mutants have reached a class 2 level control, and for the sake of the cic's cause, and their own safety, they are recommended to register as soon as they can.

one. absolutely no one liners. this is a literate roleplay. we want to see character development and efforts put into replies. no acronyms or emoticons allowed while roleplaying unless it's a text or sns post.

two. ic drama and plotting is highly encouraged! but please do not cause any ooc drama.

three. roleplaying in pm is forbidden. we highly encourage people to rp in groups and keep pm for plotting purposes only.

four. be active! plot with others and reply to posts. keep in mind that we aren't going to rush people to write, but we do ask of you to show us you're active publically.

five. please keep in mind that this is an AU (alternative universe) roleplay. do your best to develop your character based off the information and setting we provide, meaning, no canon characters from any marvel movies or comics. the avengers or x-men, or any other marvel affiliated teams and universes do not exist.

six. mature plots (, kidnapping, , etc) are permitted in any group, as long as everything is tagged appropriately. what does that entail? propper trigger warnings at the top of the post.

seven. absolutely no godmodding, metagaming or overpowering of your character(s) should take place. keep in mind that despite their mutations, they are still human, not god.

eight. characters can be aged up or down by three years based on their face claim's international age.

nine. we allow underaged face claims to be roleplayed but under no circumstances should they be involved in a thread, even if their characters are aged up.

ten. there can only be one power per character and no duplicates of powers. any taken ability can be found on the masterlist. if you're having trouble choosing a mutation, this website might come in handy, or always feel free to message us and we'll do out best to help you out! please also make sure to look at the blacklisted powers to avoid the issue of us having to tell you to change your power.

eleven. three accounts maximum per typist. please pm one of the admins if you wish to take up another character.

twelve. we are currently only accepting asian face claims.

thirteen. character death is not allowed unless you are changing face claims or leaving.

fourteen. when leaving or going on a hiatus, please notify an admin through pm. it's polite to unfriend and leave the groups before leaving.
