Sung-kyung had already said goodbye to her parents back home. They were worried for her but agreed that there was nothing left for her here.
One day, she would come back, but until then she wouldn’t hold onto any dreams. Sung-kyung grabbed her luggage and wheeled it through the check in gate.
Kris stood beside Kai and watched as Lee Sung-kyung walked further and further away. “If you plan to say goodbye, now’s the time.”
Kai shoved his hands into his pockets, “I already said goodbye. I just wanted to confirm something for myself.”
“And what is that?” Kris was curious. He had brought Kai here to show the guy that they were on the same side. He hadn’t told Kai where Sung-kyung was going, but said she’d called to say she was leaving.
“That she can leave.” Kai whispered, “and that I can let her go.”
Kris rolled his eyes, “Sometimes you sound older than you are.”
“I guess it means I’m growing up.” Kai watched as Sung-kyung finally disappeared from view. “That’s the end of it then.”
