It's been sixteen years since the apocalypse started. The apocalypse had been so bad that it came to the point wherein the civilization moved underground for safety. They locked themselves under the cities, but of course not everyone got the chance to come down underground, slots were very limited. The surface is a huge secret, no one is allowed to see it as they said. Kids who grew up underground didn't have much knowledge about the surface but is given proper training on how to handle the monsters wiping them out called VMs or mort-vivant, the living dead, they have lots of names such as stiffs, meatbags, infected or fectos (the low-level infected that can still recover), and two-zero (high-level infection- the worst worst worst).

Before the pandemic became worse, the military successfully evacuated some people to the high-tech bunkers underneath the city. The underground civilization has 12 sectors or the small cities. There is the Alpha Sector, Minoris Sector, Vega Sector, etc. Tunnels connects the sectors together, and travels are made with a train or bus but if one got perks, they own a vehicle. People who doesn't live in the Alpha Sector lives in pods, it only varies in size depending how many family members there is or the rank in the community whether one works as an official, a known celebrity, etc.

The Alpha Sector is the highest and biggest sector, commercial buildings, laboratories, military headquarters, and the biggest buildings are located there. It's complete with facilities too. According to the law, all children under 16 must be home schooled by tutors or whatever the government suggested. After that they must attend school for at least three more years. Best, brightest students may either join the medical or military fields while the average ones can be accepted to teach and other service positions. They can either marry and start a family or volunteer in medical experiments in exchange for food vouchers.

The recent generation doesn't have any exposure on what B.Z (before zombies) era looks like, instead the only memory of the B.Z they hold onto are the movies made in some places called Hollywood and many more. Lately, the newest celebrities mostly comes from the Alpha Sector. Movies aren't made that's why most people loves the classics, hairspray, highschool musical, and grease. Lastly, food. They make them in the laboratories, more likely with chemicals but it is safe to eat, it's just that the food isn't really organic. Organic food, it still exist but only the wealthy ones can afford it plus it isn't seen often, finding one can be hard too.

There is no surprise seeing a student walking around carrying a bat, crowbar, hammer, and even guns. Though the bunkers seem safe, there is still doubts whether a VM can attack them. As they usually say, preparedness is a must.
