Foreword

Chapter 1 - Baekhyun

Tuesday mornings weren’t any different to any other day of the week. Except on weekends, there wasn’t that obnoxious ringing alarm clock piercing his ear. Laying lazily for another good minute or two, sprawled out on the mess of bedsheets before Baekhyun had finally gotten the sliver of motivation to peel himself from the bed. Looking around with half lidded eyes for the phone under his pillow, his back ached as he sat up with crossed legs, letting out an audible sigh of exhaustion.

He fumbled with the phone between his fingertips, struggling to snooze the alarm.

The early sunlight that seeped through the window blinds created glowing, white lines across his work desk, papers scattered filled with handwriting. Though, the room was generally quite clean and tidy. Shades consisting of white furniture, and the light gray of the polished wood flooring. With little spots of dark-shaded potted plants along the bookshelves.

“Hyung?” A voice called from the other side of the bedroom door, muffled slightly. “Are you awake yet?”.

Baekhyun stumbled out of bed as soon as he heard the soft walking footsteps heading for his room. Trudging over to crack open the door, just enough to peek his head out. Blinking up at the maknae.

“We all finished breakfast, Lay hyung told us not to call you down until you were up.” Sehun lowered his phone from his face as he observed him, raising a brow in confusion. “Don’t you-- have work today?”.

“But it’s Sunday..” Baek blinked, glancing back to stare at the calendar hanging above his head, clearly marked with X’s up to ‘TUESDAY’. Letting out a loud groan, followed by complaining whines as he quickly stuffed all his messy work belongings into his bag, digging through his closet to throw just about anything on. He wasn’t exactly the ‘dress to impress’ type of person, so it didn’t really matter to him if he ran out in pajamas at this point.

The world was gray.

It always had been.
