Daniel: “I’m hungry….” 

 

MC: "Of course they are. They've used all their energy to scream at the ghost just now." *chuckles*

 

Daniel and Hanna are currently sitting on the couch in the living room. 

 

Hanna: (💡) “How about we cook something for dinner?” 

Daniel: ‘Cook dinner together?’

 

Hanna: “Right now it’s… *glances the wristwatch in her hand* 7.30 PM.” 

Daniel: “Sounds great.” 

 

(agree)

(Sounds great) 

 

Hanna: “Let’s go buy some groceries.” 

Daniel: “Let’s go.” 

 

They get up from the couch and leave the house for grocery shopping. Two of them walk towards the car and get inside once Hanna unlocks it with the car key in her hands. She shifts the gear to ‘D’ and starts driving. 

 

(Leave the house to find the ingredients to cook for dinner)

 

MC: “This is their first dinner together in the newlywed’s house, right?”

Eric Nam: “Yes.” 

 

Hanna: “What should we cook?” 

Daniel: “How about kimchi fried rice?”

 

(option #1) 

(Kimchi fried rice) 

 

Hanna: “That sounds fine.”

Daniel: “And… ramen?” 

 

(option #2) 

(Ramen…?)

 

Hanna groans when she hears ‘ramen’ from Daniel. 

 

Hanna: “Oh! I wanted to eat ramen right now.”

 

(groan)

(I wanted to eat ramen right now)

 

Yejin smacks her lips after hearing the word ‘ramen’ as well. 

 

Yejin (Starz): ‘I want to eat ramen too….’

 

Daniel: “Really?” 

Hanna: “Yeah.” 

 

MC: “That’s it?”

 

(That’s it?)

 

Yejin (Starz): “There must be more than that.”

 

After a few minutes of driving from their house, they arrive at the supermarket nearby. They exit the car, and both enter the supermarket while greeting the workers. 

 

Hanna & Daniel: “Hello.” 

 

(in unison) 

(Hello)

 

People in the supermarket notice them and quickly take out their phones to take pictures of them. Hanna and Daniel walk side by side, and a few female elderlies look and compliment them. 

 

Female elderly #1: “You two look good together.” 

 

Hanna and Daniel smile and thank her for the compliment. 

 

Daniel: “Really? Thank you.” 

 

(feeling happy) 

(We look good together~)

 

Then, Daniel says something that makes Hanna blushes a bit. 

 

Daniel: *points to Hanna with a polite hand* “This is my wife.” 

 

(This is my wife 💙)

 

MC & Yejin (Starz): *squeal*

Eric Nam: “He’s officially introducing his wife to the public.”

Henry: “Good job.” *thumb up*

 

Hanna: *blushes*

 

Daniel glances at Hanna and smiles.

Hanna: “I was so surprised. When a middle-aged lady approached and complimented us, I had no idea he would say a “particular” word to her. He seems like he wanted to show me off to the others that I’m his wife; this person is the love of my life.”

 

(Hanna appreciates Daniel’s effort to introduce her as his wife) 

 

Hanna: “It was adorable, and I was thankful.”

Daniel: “I’ve always wanted to say that to others. This person standing next to me is my wife.”

Daniel pushes the cart as Hanna scans the open chiller on the right side.

 

(What to buy?) 

 

Hanna: “What do you need to cook kimchi fried rice?” 

 

(asking Daniel)

Daniel: “Onion, pepper.”

 

(Ingredients for Kimchi fried rice) 

(#1 Onion) (#2 Pepper)

 

Hanna: “Pepper…”

 

(mumbling while searching) 

(Pepper… pepper… pepper…) 

 

Hanna: “Found it.” 

 

Hanna takes it, puts it inside the cart, grabs a packaged kimchi, and asks Daniel while showing it to him. 

 

Hanna: “How much do you need to put inside the fried rice?” 

Daniel: “Since we’re going to buy ramen as well….”

 

*thinking*

 

Daniel: “Take two packets.” 

Hanna: “Okay.” 

 

Hanna takes two packets of packaged kimchi and several types of vegetables and puts them inside the cart. Then, Daniel takes one onion bag; Hanna takes one rice bag and places it inside the cart. They approach the frozen food section, and Daniel takes a packet of sausages, but before they put it inside the cart, he asks Hanna how many they need.

 

Daniel: “One packet is enough, right?”

 

(asking Hanna’s opinion)

Hanna: “Take one more (packet of sausages).” 

 

Daniel takes one more packet, shoves it inside the cart, and moves to the other sections.

 

MC: “They look like a real married couple.” 

Eric Nam: “The husband pushes the cart while the wife picks out the groceries.”

 

Hanna: “Soy sauce and….” 

 

(Soy sauce… and…)

 

Hanna takes a bottle of soy sauce and puts it inside the cart. 

 

Hanna: “… sesame seed oil.” 

 

(Soy sauce… and … sesame seed oil…)

 

Hanna: “Olive oil!” 

 

(I almost forgot!)

(Olive oil!)

 

Hanna takes a bottle of sesame seed oil and olive oil and puts it inside the cart, taking other ingredients that can be used for cooking different foods like red and soybean paste and others. Then, they walk to the noodle section.

 

Hanna: “Pick which ramen you want.” 

Daniel: ‘Yes!’ 

 

Daniel takes a few types of ramen and throws them inside the cart. 

 

*throws*

 

MC: “My goodness.”

 

(shocked after seeing the footage)

(My goodness)

 

Yejin (Starz): “That’s a lot~ of ramen for two of them.”

 

Daniel pushes the cart and both head to the seafood section. Hanna picks a few types of seafood and puts them inside the cart, and glances at Daniel.

 

*glances* 

 

Hanna: “I know that you’re allergic to seafood.”

 

(to Daniel)

(I know that you’re allergic to seafood)

 

Hanna: “I’ll cook these when guests come to our house.” 

 

(I’ll cook these when we have a guest come over to our house)

 

Daniel is surprised to hear those words from Hanna. 

 

MC: (asking Sungwoo) “Is that true?”

Sungwoo (Wanna One): “Yes, he’s allergic to seafood.”

Yejin (Starz): “Ah…”

 

Eric Nam: “I feel sorry for him….”

Daniel: “I was surprised when she knew I’m allergic to seafood.”

 

(Daniel was surprised after finding out that his wife knew about his allergic)

 

Daniel: “Because I never told this to anyone except my members.”

Hanna: “After the recording, one of his managers came to me and told me about that, and since then, I’ve been telling myself to be careful whenever I’m going to order food for both of us.”

They take out all the items from the cart, and the cashier scans them one by one; Hanna pays for the groceries they bought while Daniel takes them and places them back inside the cart. Once Hanna pays for the items, they leave the supermarket and head back home. 

 

(Done with their grocery shopping) 

 

After a few minutes of driving from the supermarket, they safely arrived at their newlywed’s house, carrying all the groceries they had bought earlier. 

 

Daniel: “We are back.”

 

(Back at home)

 

Hanna struggles while taking off her shoes in the hallway after taking the remaining groceries from the car. 

 

*struggle* *struggle*

 

Henry: (to Daniel) “Go and help her already.”

 

Daniel senses Hanna’s struggling with all the groceries in her hands as she’s trying to take off her shoes; he quickly heads towards her, takes those (groceries) from her, and places them on the dining table. 

 

(Daniel helps Hanna with the remaining groceries) 

 

Hanna: (thankful) “Thanks, Niel-ah….” 

Daniel: ‘My pleasure….’

 

MC: “Aigoo… what a good husband he is.”

Hanna takes off her jacket and ties her hair before she steps inside the kitchen to help Daniel allocates all the groceries into the cupboards and fridge.

 

Hanna: “Just leave the items we’re going to cook here.” 

 

Hanna pats the counter next to the sink to Daniel while she’s arranging the items inside the fridge. 

 

Daniel: “What’s our menu for dinner tonight?” 

Hanna: “Um…” 

 

Hanna closes the fridge door and stands next to Daniel. 

 

Hanna: “I’m going to make soybean paste stew.” 

Daniel: “Okay then, I’ll make Kimchi fried rice.” 

 

(I’ll make Kimchi fried rice)

 

Hanna: “If you finish cooking early, you can help me pan-fry the meat.”

Daniel: “Okay.” 

 

(First dinner menu(s): Kimchi Fried Rice, Pan-fried Beef and Cheonggukjang or Fermented Soybean Paste Stew)

 

[“Cheonggukjang” is a soybean paste made by cooking the beans till they are tender and then fermenting them in a warm place. Its peculiar taste does not appeal to everyone, but it is highly nutritious and easily digestible. Also, this recipe was inspired as I was watching ‘Living Together in An Empty Room’ Wanna One’s episode]

Hanna wears an apron she found inside the drawer, takes out a cutting board and a knife and finally cuts all the ingredients needed for the fermented bean paste stew. Once she’s done, she searches for a suitable pot, adds an adequate amount of water, puts it on the stove, and turns it on. 

 

(Hanna starts making fermented soybean paste) 

 

*points to the apron Hanna’s wearing*

(Something’s written on her apron)

 

MC: “There’s something written on her apron.” 

 

Eric Nam and Henry read the words written on the apron and chuckle. 

 

*chuckles*

 

(What’s this chuckle means?)

She adds the paste she brought earlier into the pot, using a ladle and stirs until it dissolves. 

 

(She puts in fermented soybean paste they bought earlier)

 

Then, she adds a spoonful of soybean paste to the mixture. 

 

(She also adds a spoonful of soybean paste to enrich the flavour) 

 

Hanna stirred the remaining paste on the ladle until it dissolved before adding other ingredients. 

 

Hanna: (mumbles) “Meat….” 

 

She takes a handful of meat, cuts it into small pieces, transfers all of it into a bowl, and takes the tofu she’s already cut into square shapes. She adds all the ingredients all together and lets it boil. 

 

(Now, she adds the meat and tofu and lets it boil!) 

 

MC: “She looks like she’s a person who knows how to cook.”

 

Hanna tidies up the place she worked earlier, and Daniel enters inside when he smells something delicious.

 

Daniel: “Oh my, I can already smell the fermented soybean paste stew.” 

 

(Daniel enters the kitchen as he smells something delicious) 

 

Daniel: “The smell is….” 

Hanna: “Isn’t it amazing?” 

Daniel: “Yes, my goodness~ the kitchen smells amazing, seriously….”

Hanna: “Yeah.”

Hanna takes out the meat they bought from the freezer, takes out a medium-sized pan, drizzles it with olive oil, takes a slice of pork meat from the plastic bag and places it on the hot pan. 

 

(Hanna grills the meat)

 

Hanna cuts the meat, seasons it and continues grilling all the meats until it’s fully cooked. Daniel stands next to her while she’s grilling all the meats, acting like he’s the boss of a restaurant, watching his workers cooking those for the hungry customers. 

 

*points to Daniel*

(➡️ Owner of the restaurant appears to watch his employee)

 

Daniel: “I think it’s all cooked. The pieces right there are cooked.” 

 

MC: “Why is he standing there? Go and help her or something.”

 

Hanna takes the cooked meats, puts them on a plate, and continues grilling the rest.

 

Daniel: “My gosh, this is grilled perfectly~.”

 

(gulping) 

(My gosh, this is grilled perfectly~)

 

Hanna pours the rest of the cooked meats into the plate and wraps it with plastic. 

 

(The grilled meat is done~)

Hanna turns off the water tap after washing the dishes she used, wipes her hands with a dry cloth, and heads towards the same drawer she took an apron she’s wearing right now. She unfolds it to see what kind of image or words are printed on it before asking Daniel to wear it.

 

Hanna: “This is cute….” 

 

*giggles*

 

Daniel enters the kitchen with his hand inside the pocket’s pants while smiling, and Hanna quickly hides the apron in her hand behind her back. 

 

*quickly hides it*

 

Sungwoo (Wanna One): (curious x101) “I wonder what are the words written on that apron….” 

Yejin (Starz): “I couldn’t see the words written on Hanna unnie’s apron because “they” covered it….”

 

(We want you to guess what the “special” words written on both aprons~) 

 

Daniel takes the cutting board and a knife, and he’s about to prepare all the ingredients for Kimchi fried rice after his wife grills the meat, but Hanna approaches him.

 

Hanna: “Niel-ah.” 

Daniel: “Um?” 

Hanna: “Turn around.” 

 

(Turn around…)

 

Daniel has no idea what’s happening now and follows her order and stands a few meters away from her. Hanna stands on her toes and puts on the apron she’s been holding earlier on him, trying her best not to show her slightly “blushed” face. 

 

*pit-a-pat* *pit-a-pat* 

 

(Oh my~)

 

MC: *squeals*

Yejin (Starz): “Oh my~~~” 

 

*blushed face*

 

(What is this feeling…?)

 

Hanna: “Done.” 

 

(finally, it’s over)

(Done)

 

Daniel looks down and chuckles when he sees the words written on the apron, ‘My Wife is Kim Hanna,’ while the words are written on Hanna’s apron, ‘My Husband is Kang Daniel.’ Daniel laughs while pointing his finger at Hanna’s apron. 

 

*hahahaha*

 

Hanna: “I think the staff specially prepared this for us.”

 

(It’s our little gift to congratulate you for moving in…)

 

Daniel: “It’s cute….”

Hanna: ‘You’re right….’

 

Eric Nam: “It’d be better if one of the aprons printed with these words; “Stay away from my wife/husband. He/She is mine!”

 

Daniel cuts all the ingredients for the fried rice, the main dish for their first dinner.

 

(Husband)

(Daniel’s kimchi fried rice is the main dish for today!) 

 

Hanna takes out the frying pan he’ll be using to cook the fried rice and places it on the stove. 

 

MC: “Oh my, what a good wife she is~.”

 

Once he’s done cutting all the vegetables, he carries the cutting board, pours all the vegetables, and Hanna helps him to hold the cutting board.

 

(He puts in all the veggies that he cut) 

 

Hanna: “I’ll help you cut the kimchi.” 

 

(Volunteer) 

(I’ll help you cut the Kimchi)

 

Hanna takes out an adequate amount of Kimchi from the bag and starts slicing it, beside Daniel since the cutting board and knife he used are next to him. 

 

(Hanna helps him to cut the Kimchi) 

 

Hanna pours it into the pan.

 

(Pours the kimchi~)

 

Hanna removes the pan from contact with heat and skillfully flips the food inside it to cook it evenly. Daniel scoops some of the cooked rice from the rice cooker into the bowl, returns to Hanna, and praises her after seeing her hidden skill. 

 

Daniel: “Wow~.” 

 

Hanna keeps flipping the food in the pan, puts it back on the stove, and stirs it while smirking.

 

Hanna: *smirks*

Daniel: “You must’ve worked at the restaurant in the past.” 

 

(Her skills made us curious about her past)

Hanna: “My mom is always coming home late from work, and I started to learn cooking when I was in 6th-grade elementary school.”

Eric Nam: (couldn’t believe it) “Really?”

Yejin (Starz): (had no idea at all) “This is my first time hearing this….” 

 

Sungwoo chuckles while covering his mouth after hearing Yejin’s words. 

 

*chuckles*

 

Hanna: “And my aunty taught me all kinds of dishes since then.” 

 

Staff: “What kind of dishes do you know how to cook?” 

 

Hanna: “Almost everything.”

Panellists: “Really?”

Hanna: “I’m sure my parents and aunty will be proud if she’s watching this.”

 

(Yes, they are…)

 

Hanna shrugs her shoulders proudly while smiling.

MC: “Wow, her parents must’ve been proud to have a daughter like her.” 

Eric Nam: “You’re right.”

Daniel: “Now I need to add the condiments and rice.” 

 

(Now, he needs to add in the condiments of his choice and rice)

 

Daniel cuts all the condiments (primarily sausages and ham) he’d wanted to put inside the fried rice, and Hanna whines when she sees something shocking with her eyes.

 

Hanna: “Yah, that’s a lot~.” 

 

(my goodness)

(Yah, that’s a lot~)

 

The camera shows the “shocking” visual, where Daniel has cut an enormous amount of ham and sausages to add to the fried rice.
