Seungwan doesn’t knock as she bursts through the door. Her chest heaving as she catches her breath.

Everyone is startled and looks at her surprised.

“Unnie.” Sooyoung says from the side.

Seungwan looks at her with an unreadable expression.

“Young-ah. You need to go home now.” she says with a soft tone.

Sooyoung looks at her confused. “Why? What’s going on?”

“Just come home now.”

“No. Not until you tell me why.”

“I don’t have time to explain to you. You need to come with me now. Don’t argue with me. I’m not in the mood.” She says, her voice stern.

“Why…”

“Just go.” Seungwan says a bit harsher surprising everyone. Even herself. She’s never yelled at Sooyoung before.

Mrs. Bae steps towards her. “Seungwan, dear, what’s…”

Seungwan looks up at Ms. Bae with tears in her eyes along with fear. She didn’t need to say more.

Mrs. Bae understood clearly what she meant. She immediately rushes out the door.

“Mom wants to see you.” It was all Seungwan could say. Her voice cracking.

It scared Sooyoung but she nodded and followed Seungwan out. They didn’t walk. They ran back home.

Yeri, Saeron, and Seulgi look at each other confused before rushing out the door after the others to find out what was going on.

It wasn’t long before Mrs. Bae rushed through the door and up the stairs to the open room. She was huffing and puffing out of breath.

Hearing the commotion, Joohyun turns to find her mother. Her eyes widen in surprise. She stands up.

“Omma…what are you doing here?”

Her mother didn’t answer as she stared passed her.

Joohyun frowns. Confused. She looks from her mother to her mother-in-law to find a weak smile on her face. She looks back at her mother who moves slowly towards Mrs. Son.

“Mom.” Joohyun said once more.

Her mother finally looks at her. Pain and tears in her eyes. Joohyun didn’t understand why her mother was so scared.

“Hyun-ah, could you give us some time?” her mother asks.

Joohyun didn’t argue. She nods and leaves the room closing the door to give them privacy. She steps outside and makes her way downstairs trying to understand what just happened.

Thinking about her mother’s words: “My first love understood me even when I didn’t say anything. They knew every smile, every touch; every word my heart spoke.”

After a minute, her eyes widen in shock. “It can’t be. Can it?” she mumbles to herself as she looks up at the closed door.

Then it dawns on her and she realizes the truth. Her mother’s first love that she can never forget to this day was Mrs. Son.

Miyoung sits next to Taeyeon. She takes her hand into hers. Tears falling.

Taeyeon reaches out and wipes away her tears. “Why are you crying? I’m not worth crying over.”

“How can you say that? You’re worth every breath of me.”

“Miyoung-ah…” Taeyeon starts but suddenly starts coughing.

Miyoung quickly moves to sit on the bed to help her. “Careful.” She wipes the blood off .

Taeyeon smiles at the gentleness she’s missed. She takes Miyoung’s hand and brings it up to her face. She closes her eyes to feel the touch.<
