Kang Seulgi was, effectively, thunderstruck at the sight of that beautiful woman -- her wife, her best friend, glowing with that maternal aura and that bewitching smile -- and that adorable little baby in her hands. Ah, it was like Seulgi had fallen in love all over! A huge bag full of butterflies fell on her stomach and set the gorgeous, multi-colored butterflies free to fly all over, or that’s how it felt suddenly.

It had only hit Seulgi then what it all meant.

“Seulgi-ah,” Joohyun’s voice is as soft as butter, tender and sweet. Her eyes couldn’t peel away from that adorable little baby in her hands, so peacefully feeding off of her . A baby that vaguely resembled both Seulgi and Joohyun, despite the puffy look on her. “Come here, look at her.”

Seulgi, who was still standing by the door like an idiot, was nudged awake by a nurse whose smile was a congratulatory one. Still a little flabbergasted, she made the tentative and short steps towards the hospital bed, admiring such heavenly sight from a distance as if she was too afraid to get too near to it. Something so beautiful couldn’t be real, it couldn’t be! Moreover, such a celestial being couldn’t be her wife could she be?

Joohyun finally looked up at Seulgi with that soft smile growing wider and wider the more she looked at her. “It’s our baby, Seulgi-ah.”

After all these years, that sweet voice still sent tingles down Seulgi’s spine, and now it was a completely different feeling. But oh so lovely.

Finally, she stood next to Joohyun and looked down at that beautiful princess in her arms, quietly while her tiny hands curled and reached out to touch without looking. Seulgi’s sight couldn’t help but to get blurry by the incoming tears. Tears of pure joy at that.

“Seolhyun, this is Seulgi,” Joohyun said with her voice pitching higher in tone. “She’s your mama, too!”

Yes, she was a mother too…

And Seulgi has never been more in love with two girls at once. Her gorgeous wife and her newborn daughter.

“Seolhyunnie,” said Seulgi, already sniffling and wiping away her tears. That was her little girl. Hers and her wife’s little baby. 

For the first time in her life, Kang Seulgi now belonged to a family. She had a family. And so she made it her mission to make this baby the happiest ever.

Joohyun looked up at Seulgi and smiled, tears ready to take off. They didn’t need to say anything, but they both understood. Their lives had both shifted and they were ready. Seulgi tenderly kissed her wife’s forever and whispered:

“I love you.”

And Joohyun bursted into tears of joy.
