“Jongdae, you have a guest.”   The male turned from his seat beside Baekhyun, who was still invested in the music show they were watching.   “Who is it?” He asked as he got up to cross the living room. Joonmyun stood away from the door, revealing the person on the other side. Jongdae paused in his steps, eyes widening.   His guest smiled up at him, taking a tentative step into their home. Her hair was swept to the side in a braid, her plain tee and jeans accentuating her healthy figure. She was holding a paper bag that looked suspiciously familiar in one hand, while the other was carrying her laptop.   “Babe.”   “Hey.”   “Hi Jongdae’s girlfriend!” Baekhyun greeted as he stood up in a flash. He was still in his uniform, having just arrived home from his shift. He bounded over to her side, immediately going straight for the paper bag. “Thanks for the free food!”   The girl giggled at his friend’s behaviour, yet she ignored everything else and made her way towards her boyfriend. As their distance lessens, she shrugs her bag and laptop off, placing them beside the sofa that was previously occupied by the two boys. Jongdae automatically spreads his arms and she wraps her own around his torso as he tightened the hug.   “What are you doing here? I thought you told me you had class until late evening.” He questioned.   “Surprise,” she cooed, giving him a smooch on the cheek as he brought her over to the sofa.   Looking a little upset, Jongdae turns to nag at his girlfriend. “What if we had an emergency and had left the apartment? You know our job doesn’t exactly allow us to have a set schedule.”   She wiggled her phone in his direction, the screen displaying the news app she had.   “I kept updating the app every few seconds on my way here to check if there was any emergency that required you and your boys to be deployed.” She cheekily replied. Her head tilted back, pointing towards the open kitchen where Jongdae’s best friend and their team leader were devouring the bag of fried chicken. “And Joonmyun texted me that you were still home.”   Jongdae seemed to have given up. Although even he knew that he could never win against his girl.   “So, are you going to stay the entire day?”   “Yeah, stay the day so we won’t have to hear Jongdae complaining about how much time you’re not spending with him.”   “You know, I always wonder how you could even call yourself my best friend when you treat me like a piece of .” Jongdae glares at Baekhyun, who was grinning teasingly at the said boy.   “Oh please, you love the way I treat you. And let me correct your words there, I treat you like you’re my favourite piece of .”   Jongdae’s girlfriend let out a giggle at the cute bickering, capturing the attention of her boyfriend. She returned the eye contact with a smile as she answered to his previous question.   “If you don’t mind me working on my class’ lesson plan, then I’ll stay the night.”   “Baby,” Jongdae smiled back, his eyes darting around her face to take in her pretty features.   “You’ll always get my permission to do anything by my side.”                 I got up from the low table, bringing the used plates with me, the three boys helping me with the clearing up.   “Thank you for the treat, Joonmyun-sshi.”   The male was about to reply when Baekhyun nudged him away, the younger one coming between us as he placed the leftover food on the counter, leaving it out for Kyungsoo who was on the way home.   “We made a bet and he lost. He had to treat us all to dinner, or else each of us had a chance to swipe his credit card once when making any personal payments. And obviously he’d rather not lose out too much.”   “Because we all know how Baekhyun would love to splurge on some new game console.” Jongdae snidely remarked in the background.   “What was the bet about?”   Joonmyun groaned as he glared at his teammate.   Instead of him answering though, Jongdae spoke up. He chuckled, recalling the incident.   “Two days ago, Baekhyun made a bet on our Chief Officer. The person whose name was called out the most by our Chief Officer within 24 hours, had to go up to the Chief Officer and ask him out on a date.”   “Joonmyun’s name was called a total of 28 times, while the rest of us didn’t even reach 10.” Baekhyun laughed.   “Isn’t that unfair since Joonmyun is your team leader? Of course
