It was a Dark and Stormy Nightmare

Description

With an average of 3 hours of sleep per night for the past week, Minseok’s mind is quite muddled.

Foreword

about.

this story is xiumin-centric and it revolves around nightmare disorder, which is not a very common sleep-disorder i think but oh well.

it was a part of the "i was going to die slowly" series which i have drafted instead.

---

this story is not that heavy, but it has references to domestic violence and abusive relationships as well as the portrayal of traffic accidents. it's purpose was to deliver the horrors of not sleeping without dealing with insomnia and instead take on the nightmare aspect of it all. which is quite honestly horrible.

i dont have a lot of things to say about this, though, but i like it a lot so i hope you do too.

if you choose to read, i hope you enjoy.

Nightmare disorder, also known as dream anxiety disorder, is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent nightmares. The nightmares, which often portray the individual in a situation that jeopardizes their life or personal safety, usually occur during the REM stages of sleep. Though such nightmares occur within many people, those with nightmare disorder experience them with a greater frequency.

Chapter 1: From Chanyeol's story, I'm here moving onto Minseok. And just like Chanyeol, Minseok is written impeccably and his condition is both terribly interesting, as well as... terribly terrible. The nightmares really pulled me in, and Minseok's sleep schedule - or lack thereof - struck me while reading. Coincidentally after reading this in the morning, later in the day I also went through a small state of lack of sleep while sitting in the back of a car, and so commenting now, I can truly believe how sleep deprivation caused such a horrific turn of events with the accident. I especially enjoyed reading about his hospitalisation and the fact that Minseok calls them 'just' nightmares when he associates sharing this issue with others. I don't know, it really struck deep for me personally because I know that's what one truly thinks when they're faced with other people asking about issues you face that you have no control of.
I really like the fact that you incorporate all the other members psychological issues in the story. The hints here and there of everyone else's problems is really effective, it's one of the most interesting ways of foreshadowing I've seen in a story for a series! I remember reading Chen's as well at some point, so some of them I could familiarise with well, which added a nice little flair to the reading experience.

All in all, very well written, well paced, and your diction is just lovely.
