Silence...

That is between them. Was between them. Shall be between them... probably, forever. Silence...

Seokjin looks at his wife who is sitting at his right and nibbling her toast. It has been exactly 70 days today they lost their child. At first he used to count the days awaiting the arrival of their tiny human being and now he counts the days she had left them, forever. With her all his hope, happiness are gone. He sometimes wonder what Irene is thinking or feeling. He thought they would support, take care of each other and share their minds and hearts but...

She has been sad. Very sad. Completely broken. Like him. But what can he do if she herself does not want his shoulder to cry on or lend him hers? She does not cry...at all. All her grief is pent up within her. He feels guilty and embarrassed that he cannot help her. She does not want his support, care or love...

"We are going to the doctor today..." He says.

"Hmmm..." She replies.

The breakfast table at the Bae-Kim Namjoon Mansion is laid. Noel is pouring juice in Joy's glass and the girl has gone to do her morning routine of serving coffee. Which reminds her that it is the day of her doctor's appointment. 

"Good morning Aunty!" Jimin chimes in.

Noel smiles in greeting. Such a nice boy he is!! Educated, smart, well-behaved and a family-man. How she wishes Joy could have someone like him...?! He would have taken such great care of her in this state...

She sighs.

"Are you going somewhere?" Jimin brings the cup to his mouth.

"Yes. Joy's doctor's appointment." 

"Oh! Then let me give you a lift! I will not have to visit the site before afternoon so..." He suggests.

"That will be great!" She thanks him.

" Will this tie look nice with the blue shirt?" Joy murmurs looking at the clothes. Usually she can match clothes with her eyes closed. But her "preggy brain" has made her slower and forgetful. She looks up to see Namjoon getting out in a bathrobe and wet hair. She looks down and blushes. Damn it Hormones!!

"Will you...w-wear this black tie or the wh-white one with th-this shirt?" She fumbles out, not meeting his eyes.

Namjoon frowns. What is wrong with her?

"You. Are. Asking me this?!" He asks surprised. Since when did she need help to decide on clothing? What...? 

He looks down at himself, then at her and guesses the reason. She is blushing and all because of him?! But why...? Oh well... it can be fun... He smirks. He has noticed she has done that before...

"Hmmm...let me see..." He, instead of taking the ties from her hand, clutches her wrist and brings it his face closely. The grip is tight enough but does not hurt.

He keeps pretending to look at the clothing material and glances at her face. If it is possible for someone to be anymore red?!That too only for touching her hand?!

Joy is religiously avoiding looking at his face. Why he did not think of doing this before? It is too amusing to not!!...

"I think I will wear the black one today..." He says, controlling his laughter. Goodness!! She is behaving so shy and awkward around him!! As if they have never... He snaps out of his thoughts deliberately. Where the hell did that come from?!

Joy quickly leaves his room and smacks herself in the head. What the hell was that? SO embarassing!! She is going to give birth to his child in a little more than 3 months and they are...married. Marriage...?? She cannot help but snort. She knows it very well that he was holding her hand to make her flush and fidget. Or else he has no other reason to touch her, that too for selecting a tie!! What is making her frustated that she was being affected even after knowing all this...

"We are here now!! I shall wait for you..." Jimin assures them.

The ladies walk towards the gynaecologist's cabin, talking casually, oblivious to what is going to happen....

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Kim. Please wait for some time. The doctor has not arrived yet. He is on his way..." The receptionist informs them.

Seokjin looks at Irene and she shrugs. They sit in the waiting-room. After few minutes the nurse informs them of the doctor's arrival and they enter his cabin.

"So it seems you've crossed your 2nd semester without any problem!" Dr. Song wipes the cold gel from her bump. Joy and Noel have been staring at the ultrasound monitor with awe. The mother has tears in her eyes, everytime she sees her baby.

"Keep your food habit intact and all will be fine. You are still under weight but it is I think a genetic thing...So keep up  the nutrition intake regular for yourself and the baby."

They thank her and leave the cabin happy with the new ultrasound plate.  

"That actually did not take long at all!! I am so so happy all is well with you and the baby!!" Noel says in excitement. "Now where could be this Jimin..." She wonders making Joy laugh.

But their laughter vanishes when they turn the corner.

They are standing face to face with Irene and Seokjin. The couple just left the doctor's cabin and has a dreading expression on their faces. 

Irene's eyes fall on Joy's growing bump and she freezes. She looks at her with tear- filled eyes. There are misery, sadness, disbelieve, longing and...jealousy in them. So lucid... Her breathing gets ragged and she begins to shake. 

Seokjin begins to call his wife's name and grabs her shoulder to shake to get her out of the panic attack. He is too worried for her now. 

Joy gulps and tries to call her sister-in-law when she pushes her out of the way and runs out of the buiding. She is about to stumble when Jimin arrives and catches her. She and her child are so lucky...

Seokjin looks at his sister, pained and apologetic. He looks down avoiding her eyes and runs after his wife.

"Oh Goodness!! Mistress Irene did not know!! Now... " Noel rubs her face in distress.

Joy has paled and she cannot understand how and what have happened.

Jimin looks at them, completely baffled with the whole situation.  

Irene is sitting on her bedroom floor. Seokjin has been able to pick her up from the busy road and bring her home. She still has not cried or said a single word. Only shaking and heavy breathing. After coming home she ran to their room and locked herself.

Today cannot be anymore worse for her to know about Joy's pregnancy. He knocked for a long time and then opened the door with spare keys. He has been trying to talk to her but as always...But she has to react, she has to do something to let out her sorrows, or else this will kill her eventually. So for the sake of his love's life he has to do it...no matter how much it will hurt and humiliate him...
