“What do you mean you want me?”, Tris asked. “I mean exactly what I am saying”, Kihyun said. “I want to be with you Tris”, he said. Tris laughed with disbelief, “Are you kidding me right now?”, she said starting to get annoyed, “how dare you drop this on me out of nowhere after all this time. You want to be with me? When did you realise that? You think you get to have me just because you decided you want me?’, Tris yelled. “I know, I know I have no right”, Kihyun said. “Just stop Kihyun”, tears started to fill Tris’ eyes.

Tris sighed. “You were the one person in my life who I knew was never going to make me sad, but you turned out to be the one who made me the saddest. And when I said things between us couldn’t be the same again, did you really think us being together would fix that?”, Tris said as she began to cry. “Do you know how many nights I cried because of you, after I moved here? My entire life changed. My home changed, my friends changed, my environment changed. What I needed more than anything was for my best friend to be there for me”, Tris said with tears streaming down her cheeks.

“I tried to be there for you Tris”, Kihyun said. “No Kihyun, some other version of you tried. The version of you, that hurt me for months, before I left. I didn’t want him to be there for me. I wanted my best friend. I wanted the boy who used to wipe my tears away, not the boy who caused them.”, she said.

“I wanted… I needed you and I couldn’t have you because you decided to be a jerk to me. So don’t tell me that you tried. Don’t tell me that you need me. You didn’t need me when I was there. You didn’t care”, Tris cried out. “Tris, what can I do? How can I fix this?”, Kihyun asked. “Stop asking me that Kihyun”, Tris snapped.

“You broke us, so stop asking me how to fix your mess, because I’m not that girl anymore. I’m no longer the one to help you out when things go wrong. I was always that girl, and you showed her how much you appreciated it by acting the way you did. “Tris, please”, Kihyun begged. “I’m gonna go Kihyun, I can’t do this again. I can’t keep crying every time we speak. It’s too hard.”, Tris said with heavy breaths. Kihyun grabbed onto Tris’ hand and she released his grip on her and left.
