Letting Go
New RulesIt had been a few days since Jennie last saw Jisoo. She'd barely left her apartment in those few days, finding herself lost in her thoughts way too often. She wasn't completely gone though- she was still able to take care of herself and her dogs. But after doing the essential things, she'd sit and think. Think about everything that lead to this point, and about Jisoo of course.
Jisoo had kept her promise. She hadn't contacted Jennie at all since that one night, giving her the space and time she asked for. She hated how sweet Jisoo could be.
Chaeyoung and Lisa would check in with her to ask how she was doing. She'd always give them the same answer, but they never wanted to push her, so they eventually stopped asking. They'd still drop in to see if she was still alive though.
As Jennie stared at the blank TV screen in front of her, she wondered how Jisoo was doing. Since she hadn't heard from her, she had no idea what the older girl had been doing the past few days. She glanced at her cell phone, the urge to contact her and see if she was okay eating away at her. She chewed on her bottom lip, the split in her lip almost completely healed up. Her black eye was beginning to fade, but it was still partially there. She had a tiny cut on her cheek still, and the bruises littering her body were slightly faded at this point.
Before Jennie could think twice, she reached out and grabbed her phone. She opened a text to Jisoo.
"Hi." was all she typed out, sending it before she could regret it. A check mark appeared, indicating that Jisoo read it. Dots appeared next, Jennie waiting in anticipation at what Jisoo would say.
"Hey." was all she said. Jennie typed out a response.
"I wanted to see how you were." Jennie said.
"I've been better. But I'm here, waiting." Jisoo said back. Jennie didn't have to ask what she was waiting for- she already knew it was her. Jennie stared at the phone screen, not entirely sure what to say to that. A question she wanted to ask nagged at the back of her mind. She found her fingers typing before she could hesitate.
"Any visitors?" Jennie sent. She hoped Jisoo would understand who she was talking about. The dots appeared again, bouncing up and down as Jisoo typed out her reply.
"Nope. And even if there were, I'd throw him back out." Jisoo replied. Jennie relaxed immediately, smile making it's way to her lips as she read the text. Jisoo really had changed a lot.
"Good." Jennie replied. A check mark appeared next to it, Jisoo having read the text. Before Jisoo could respond, Jennie sent another quick text.
"Talk to you later." was all she said, ending the conversation. Jisoo read the text, but didn't answer it. Jennie placed her phone next to her on the couch, going back to staring at the blank TV screen. She clasped her hands together in her lap, only glancing away from the TV when Kuma waddled into the living room. She moved her eyes to him, watching him walk around. He finally stopped and sat, staring up at his owner. Jennie narrowed her eyes at him.
"Are you judging me?" She asked him. Kuma didn't respond, obviously- but he did continue to stare at her. Eventually, he let out a bark and ran to the front door of the apartment. He clawed at it for a bit, before leaving it alone soon after. He returned to his original routine, walking around and flopping down onto his back on the floor. Jennie furrowed her eyebrows, glancing at the door he clawed at and then back to him.
"Is that yo
