Kyulkyu stepped off the subway platform as she heard people gossiping about how the full moon a few days ago was awfully strangely color. She wouldn't have known - she crashed at her art desk. She was carrying a large order of strawberry rice cakes to a home for a baby shower. She carried the box to the right home just delivering them and getting her payment. "Thank you, I've placed our business card in your order. Please call us again!" Kyulkyu bowed as she left. She placed the money in her bag as she sighed. She looked at her phone as there was nothing. Odd. Usually, her mom or dad would have texted her to ask if she made it into the sity okay. She wasnt' staying long today at all. She literally only came to deliver the rice cakes. She rode the subway to her train stop and rode the train back home. She sighed as she had to take a bus too just to get close to her town. She walked the rest of the way just waving to a few elders snacking on her family's rice cakes. She was often called rice cake by these older townsfolk as her name was too 'modern' for them to even say. 

"Hey our lovely rice cake." One elderly woman waved her over 

"Oh, hi." Kyulkyu stopped infront of her home. "How are you?" She bowed as the old lady walked up. 

"Your mom brought by some rice cakes and forgot to get the money. Here you are. Tell your grandma to stop by soon to play cards." The elderly woman put an envelope in the girl's hand. 

"I will, granny will like getting out if she's up to it." Kyulkyu smiled as she waved and bowed as she made it to the store. She walked in the store just going to the back and putting her things away while putting the money envelopes in the safe in the office. She walked to the front of the store just having her apron on as she looked at her mom serving customers. "Momma, go home. I am back. Granny and gramps must miss you." Kyulkyu told her as she took the serving tray from her. 

"I don't want to leave you alone." Her mother, yeojin, patted her daughter's head. 

"Appa is in the kitchen, please go home." Kyulkyu said 

"You worry too much, my little marshmellow." Yeojin said as her daughter gave her a look. 

"Alright, alright. I'll go home. Your grandparents aren't on their death beds. Your grandpa just took a swim fitness class with me." Yeojin nodded hanging up her apron. 

"I know, but grandma -" Kyulkyu leaned on the counter. 

"Has a bad hip, all old ladies do. Most of them. She is using the walker great and she never leaves the house on her own. Your dad and I are even looking into getting her a support animal just in case. Marshmellow, you take care of yourself. Everything will be fine." Yeojin held her daughter's cheeks as she kissed her forehead. 

"Okay, tell them that I love them." Kyulkyu watched her mother leave the store as she leaned on her elbow. 

"You're going to give your mother an heartattack one day. You worry more than us combined." Heojung halfly scolded his daughter as he replaced almost empty sheet of rice cakes. "Did the customer like the rice cakes?" He asked her 

"Yeah, she loved that they were pink because she is having a little girl." Kyulkyu said "And I can't help it, i am just worried about them. They are getting old and what if they leave before I've made them proud. Working at the rice shop is not what I want them to remeber about me, appa." Kyulkyu told him

"Jeon Kyulkyu, I didn't not raise you to think like that. You've made them plently proud. You should think positively and know you'll show them your big art book things and sell lots of copies one day. If they do pass, then they'll be smiling and watching you from above bragging to everyother grandma and grandpa that they have the best grandaughter." Heojung glared at her, "I swear you need a boy to distract you so you'll worry about that kind of stuff." 

"I have lots of boys." Kyulkyu whispered under her breath

"Not the 2-d kind or ones you see on those cartoons, Kyulkyu." Heojung gave her a look of disbeilf "I was all for that when you were in highschool but now you should think about dating real boys. Oohh, boys that actually talk back." Heojung flicked his daughter's forehead. 

"I've talked to boys!" Kyulkyu grumbled and crinkled up her nose. She only groaned when her dad gave her wiggle eyebrow look. "Leave me alone! God, you're so annoying!" She pushed him into the kitchen. 

"I got to make up for you not having any siblings." Heojung laughed. 

Later in the night, Kyulkyu was cleaning up just getting ready to shut down the shop. She had already cleaned the tables and was packing up the left over rice cakes from the display cases into boxes to take to the elder meeting house like she did every Friday for bingo night. "Awesome, i just need one more box." She held out her hand as a unfolded box glittered in white and blue lights just appearing in her hand. "What the hell?" She questioned as she looked from the counter to her hand. Kyulkyu hurriedly packed up the rest of the cakes, put them in the fridge, turned off all the lights, and locked up the building. She partically dashed home just quickly grabbing the dinner left for her in the mircowave, checking on her parents and grandparents, and then ran to her room. She closed her door just flipping her laptop open just trying to figure out what had happened. She just annoyedingly shoved kimchi friend rice in as she watched an anime as she couldn't find anything. She would have to go to a big library or something.
