"Baba!" Little Chanyeol gasped excitedly as he ran through the doors of his daycare, his arms now wrapped around Luhan's leg.

"Hey there baby." Luhan chuckled, extending a hand to ruffle at his fluffy locks.

Suho knelt down to be at eye level with the toddler. "Ready to go Yeollie?"

Over the course of the week, the boy had become quite acquainted with Suho. He knew him as Luhan's friend but thought of him more as the brunette's bodyguard. Whether it was something as simple as walking to the convenience store, Suho would be sure to follow.

Suho was given the day off to accompany Luhan to his doctor's appointment. They then made a stop at the grocery store before it was time to pick up Chanyeol. Bashful, well mannered and humble, those were some of the words Suho would use to describe his first impression of Luhan. That being said, he had expected the brunette to decline his offer to tag along for the rest of the day. However, he was delighted that particular topic of conversation never surfaced. To Suho, this signified the other was past the formality stage and actually viewed him as a friend. This thought caused a feeling of giddiness to wash over him.

"Mhmm!" Chanyeol lunged into Suho's outstretched arms, effectively bringing him out of his daze.

Suho grinned and scooped the toddler up off his feet.

While Chanyeol was enthusiastically telling them a funny story about his day, Suho noticed a couple of teenagers zipping towards their direction. He quickly shifted Chanyeol's weight onto one arm. Afraid Luhan would become the victim of their recklessness, he instinctively grabbed the latter by the waist and pulled him in close, diminishing the space between them.

Having foreseen the tragedy, Suho breathed out a sigh of relief. It was only when he'd turned his attention over to Luhan did he come to realize the position they were in. Body pressed up against Suho's, the brunette became rigid, evidently uncomfortable with their intimate proximity.

"S-sorry." The younger male immediately dropped the arm that was tightly enclosed around Luhan as he felt the heat rising to his cheeks. "Are you okay?"

"Mhmm." Still in shock from the earlier events, all Luhan managed to do was hum in response as he caressed his baby bump. "Thank you." After finally finding his voice, he flashed a tense smile to disperse the accumulating awkwardness.

"Good." There was a sliver of tranquility before Suho cleared his throat. "Uh, we should get going, you know, um, before Tao starts to worry." Idiot. He inwardly cursed himself for stuttering.
