Chaeyeon’s alarm was annoying. Because she slept like a rock, she had it going off every five minutes and she had slept through most of them. It was only when Jongin forced her to wake up that she sleepily blinks, bolts upright, and a strangled gasp escapes , “Kai!”
“Yes?”
“No, not you Kai. My final project.”
“Your final project is named Kai?” Jongin asked incredulously. That explained what she had been mumbling about the night before.
“Oh shut up,” Chaeyeon grumbled, not answering the question as she threw off the covers and reached for her laptop. “I said I was going to finish last night and I got stuck.”
“When’s it due?”
“In a week during my presentation.”
Jongin said nothing, because he knows that telling her that she had a week to finish it had no effect on her. Instead, he flopped back on to the pillows and watched her work through his blurry vision, because his glasses were sitting on her desk.
“Chaeyeon?”
“Hm?” Her slightly bloodshot eyes reflected the screen of her laptop.
“Have you been sacrificing your sleep for this final project?”
Her hands paused on the mouse, “This is the most important class I’m taking this year. And this project means a lot to me.”
“Take better care of yourself,” he muttered, arms curled around his pillow next to Chaeyeon’s leg.
