For once, he was the one being told to eat and sleep. He yawned, and then asked, “How do you two do this?”
“Habit.” Kyungsoo and Chaeyeon answered together, eyes wide open and slightly bloodshot.
He ended up falling asleep on top of his notebook, metal binding pressing into his cheek. He only woke up hours later when Kyungsoo had left, and Chaeyeon had tugged him toward the bedroom.
“Wait, no, I have to finish,” he murmured sleepily as she pulled back the covers to the bed. Is this how she felt when he forced her to do the same? “Chaeyeon.”
“No. Go to sleep.”
“But—”
“No.”
“Why are you so goddamn controlling?” And he regretted saying that out loud as soon as the words escaped from his lips. The words hung between them like a guillotine, reading to come crashing down and cut whatever was between them.
Her eyes harden and thinned, and then her voice comes out in a harsh, angry whisper that grows in volume. “Controlling? I’m controlling?”
“Chaeyeon, wait I didn’t—”
“You didn’t what? Mean it? Bull—”
“Wait, why are you implying that I’m the controlling one?”
“Because you are!” She growled, and then got up from the bed, grabbing a change of clothes from the closet. “Forget it, I’m going to Kyungsoo’s.”
