Mr. Popular
88.
Kim Sungmin wasn’t his first girlfriend, but Jongin decided that she might his last. And not necessarily in the good way. In the very short month of their relationship, he felt like he had been riding a never-ending roller coaster.
He was either tearing out his hair or he was trying to placate her, and he was tired of it.
“I need your help,” He begged to Chaeyeon, who looked entirely too amused with the situation.
“Ah, young love troubles.” She nodded with a fake sense of wisdom, and he shot her a fed-up look, making her snicker. And of course, Sungmin had to pop up at the exact moment.
“Jongin, I knew it! I knew you were cheating on me with her!”
“What?” This was the first time that he had heard that, and he most definitely had not been cheating on Sungmin.
“This is why you’ve been so distant, right?” She pointed an accusatory finger at him, and he doesn’t know how to get himself out of this situation. He was completely and utterly lost. He shot a pleading look to Chaeyeon, who looked just as confused as he did.
“Okay,” he forced himself to take a breath. He just needed to do it, “Sungmin, you’re a nice person but maybe we should just be friends. I just don’t see this working.”
“Are you breaking up with me?” She looked absolutely stricken, and he found himself panicking. She stomped off when he didn’t say anything.
