Kyungsoo looked up from his papers with a squint. “It this a cry for help, or—”

“I’m serious.”
 

Kyungsoo sat back, arching his eyebrows, “Jongin, explain.”

“It might look good.” Jongin shrugged back, slapping a heating pad over his knee. “If not, I can always let the holes close up.”

“Yesterday you said that you wanted to adopt a dog,” Kyungsoo said flatly, picking up his pen again and scanning through the papers.

“I still want to adopt a dog.”

“Chaeyeon and I are your impulse controls, aren’t we?” Kyungsoo swirled the dregs of his coffee before downing the remains and rubbing his eyes. He had been awake for hours and had told Jongin to come over. Jongin thought that was a bad idea because he would be a distraction. But Kyungsoo insisted it was mindless, busy work.

But he looked absolutely exhausted.

“Yeah, maybe.” Jongin’s non-committal answer made Kyungsoo pick up his phone in response.

“Okay, let’s ask Chaeyeon.” He tapped his screen, calling her and setting her on speakerphone. It took her four rings to answer, which she did with a yawn.
