Laughter

Perfect Stranger

Before she performed, he was laughing at her. Who would have known that the day would come that she would wear a dress dancing to Only One. Even she could not hide her embarassment as he was laughing so much.

After he performed, it was her turn to laugh. Yes it had happened before, but he picked today to wear those red underwear. He blushed pink as he was rushing past her. She tried to hide it, but she really could not help it. She sing songed a little “karma” to him. He was still blushing.

Before the concert, they met with each other. A tradition they upholded ever since they became singers. It had always been in her dressing room, but today was an exception, she knows that he feels weird to perform without his brother.

He never understood how she could do it, being on stage without anyone. True, there are the dancers and whatnot, but he was used to being with his brothers. From five to two, now it seems that he had to perform alone. It was different when he knew that he has someone with him in the dressing room.

When her head popped up inside, he had to laugh. She was wearing a very concerned expression, genuine concern. It seems that he isn't alone as he thought so.

After the concert, they met in her room. Usually it was at their room, but he was not sure if he would be the chippy self, knowing he is missing his brother. Drinking beers, knowing full well that they deserved it all.

“I can't believe you laughed so hard. It was embarrassing enough.”

“You started it! You laughed at me too!”

“That's different! I was humiliated! I know everyone saw it!”

“Bad time to wear the lucky pair.”

“It’s your fault. You taught me that and all those supersitions you have whenever you perform.”

She laughed at him. He was too red from drinking and the embarassment.

“But, remember to tell your stylist about wearing dresses. Admit it, it was awkward dancing like that.”

“Just at the partner dance. Even if I was wearing something underneath,” she can't finish her sentence, full of phrases that don't connect with each other. “I know he did not look, but still.”

He had to laugh. For many years that they had been performers, they thought they had experienced it all. It seems that there are still some that they have not yet touched upon.

“Like, if it was you. I’m sure you won't look. I’m not badmouthing him, but, still.” He could see her frustation in telling her side. He just kept on laughing, only to stop when he saw that she was glaring at her.

“What? It's my turn to laugh. You had your fun.”

“I think this is the first time we laughed so much. Just the two of us.”

“Yeah. First time for everything?”

“Well, it's not your first time to rip your pants.”

“Hey. That's a foul.” She was smiling again. They avoided the much too heavy discussion. There is the right time for those.

They both smiled. Continued drinking. Then a tear dropped. He was the first to cry.

“How could you do that? How did you last this long being there on stage with no one?”

She had to cry. Had to because she knew that it was never an easy battle.

“You won't leave me right?” He was hopeful even though he knew that she belonged to someone else now. He could only laugh.
