It Doesn't Look Like What It Seems

Excuse Me?

Chaeyoung drank the coffee that Sowon gave. She was sleeping throughout Biology class. Fortunately, she wasn’t caught by the teacher. She has been sleeping for 4 hours per day during the past 3 days. She has no choice but to sleep during morning class in order to keep awake for the rest of the class.

“You look so tired lately. Look at your eyes! You will turn into Panda if you keep living like this. Don’t study too much. You should think about your body too,” Sowon scolded Chaeyong who still tried to gather all of her soul.

“I am very curious. What are doing during the night while you are supposed to sleep? You said you didn’t have time to write notes but you always pull on an all-nighter,” Eunha asked.

“I just studying and mark it on the textbook. I didn’t have enough time to write it on the notes. I just write the important information on the post-it. I should teach my brother to study too. So the only time I could study was after he went to sleep,” Chaeyoung answered Eunha question.

“Then, you can just send him to cram school. So you don’t have to sacrifice your sleeping time,” Sowon added.

Chaeyoung only showed her smile to respond to Sowon’s suggestion. If her family had enough money, Jimin already studying on the cram school, rather than on their tiny apartment. But, she can’t blame her friends since they didn’t know about her family situation. She thought this is a personal matter and it ethically wrong to let out the family problem into the other party. She didn’t want to make her parent look pathetic and embarrassed.

Chaeyoung excuse herself to go to the bathroom to wash her face. She needs to stay awake during the lesson. Unlike usual, she was especially tired today. Usually, she only needs 30 minutes sleep in the morning class. But today, she slept for almost 2 hours. She even planned to skip class and went to clinic pretend to be sick so she can sleep in the clinic.

Yesterday, she was scolded by Jin because he found out about Chaeyoung’s new job. He accidentally met Chaeyoung on the way home. It’s quite late. He began to questioning Chaeyoung. Where was she has been causing her to just come home at this hour? Chaeyoung knew it will be useless to lie. She will get caught anyway. Jin knew her very well. Even better than her mom. He was very angry knowing that Chaeyoung was working a week before the exam. Jin was worried if her rank will drop because she was tired from working and can’t manage to study. But, fortunately after ensure him her rank won’t drop, he managed to calm down. Chaeyoung also told Jin about the prior notice rules was the reason she still work in Mr. Coffee. He was about to come to Mr. Coffee to scold Chaeyoung boss. Luckily, he didn’t do it because he realized it will lead to another problem. He was very angry and salty but he can’t do anything but nagging.

Not only because of Jin. She was stressed out because of her new job. Yes, her job as the tutor. What made her stress not because of her job, but her student. Yes, Her student, Kim Namjoon. On the first day, they agreed to meet at 6 PM on the café that Namjoon suggested. Chaeyoung hurriedly went to the destination place after finishing her shift. She arrived 30 minutes earlier so she could prepare the material. Chaeyoung looked at the clock on her phone. It’s 6.10 PM but Namjoon hasn’t shown up. The message balloon show up on her phone screen. Namjoon said he will be late because he just finished her practice. Chaeyoung replied and told him to take his time. He really took his time and arrived 30 minutes later.

“So, shall we begin? I asked several friends of mine about the most difficult subject for the 10th grader and they said its physic. So, I decided to review Physic subject. It’s okay for you?” Chaeyoung asked Namjoon who was busy looking into the menu on the café board. He nodded then excuse himself to order a drink. Chaeyoung smiling and let him go. She quickly opened her old notes and the problem books. She planned to review the material first then let him do some problems. When he can’t resolve it, they could discuss it together. Namjoon was back with an Americano on his hand. He sat down and took out his phone. He took a picture of him and Chaeyoung together. Chaeyoung was confused at first, but then she realized that his Mom told him to send a picture as a proof.

“Hemm, well, now let’s review the Energy chapter, as we already know, there are some…,”

“You already prepared the problem for me to solve, right?” Namjoon cut her explanation.

“Oh, yes. I prepared it,” she opened the problem book.

“Give it to me,” Namjoon asked for the book and Chaeyoung hand it to him. Namjoon quickly looking through the book.

“Let’s end it here. I will finish the problem and you could check it tomorrow. I have things I should do, so I can’t stay here any longer. Thank you for your time. See you tomorrow. I will text you the place and the time,” Namjoon put the book to his bag, bowed to Chaeyoung and quickly leave the café. Chaeyoung was left with confusing.

It’s continued for the past 3 days. This wasn’t like what she imagined. Actually, he gave her an advantage. She didn’t need to spend much time to teach him so she has enough time to study for herself. But, she felt guilty because she felt like she didn’t do anything. The only thing she did was checking the answer from the problem that he did. She was amazed that he could get all the answer correctly. That was made her stressed even more. She didn’t need to do anything. The thing she did so far was sitting in front of him, take a picture together and gave him homework. That’s all. She never spent his energy to teach him.

She wiped her face with tissue then she looked into the mirror. Her face looks so tired. Moreover, the black circle around her eyes made her look like a Panda. She stared at her own reflection while thinking should she go to clinic or not. She stared deeply on her own face then finally decided to let her body rest for a while.

She went to her class room but she found no one was there. She took a chemistry text book to help her fallen asleep in the clinic. She knocked the clinic door before she went in. The school nurse wasn’t there. Maybe she was going out to have lunch. Chaeyoung took off her shoes then sat on the bed. She closed the curtain before lying down. She decided to read the book while waiting for the nurse to come. She should get permission from the nurse to skipped class. Her body can’t resist the temptation of the bed. She was unconsciously falling asleep less than 1 minute after she landed her head on the pillow.

Chaeyoung opened her eyes after the school nurse woke her up. The school time already over. She was panicked because she didn’t plan to skip all the after-break classes. The nurse told her that she looks tired and she was sleeping so deeply. She didn’t have a heart to wake her up. Chaeyoung’s friend was come into the clinic and asked the nurse to make the permission letter. Chaeyoung thanked the nurse then excuse herself to went back to her class.

Chaeyoung slided the class’s door and welcomed with the conversation between Yuju and Umji. Somehow, their conversation looks interesting, since most of their classmate who was still at the class room were watching them seriously.

“I am sorry but I can’t lend you my notes. It’s better if you try to learn it first from the text book and make your own. That way will be more effective rather than copying someone else note. Moreover, my note isn’t user friendly,” Yuju refuse Umji request to borrow her notes.

“I am not going to look at the whole note. I just want to copy some parts. Can you lend it to me, pleaseeee. Just this once!” Umji tried to persuade Yuju.

“Just lend her this once, Yuju. She just wants to look at some part anyway. Why do you become so stingy? If you behave like this, people will get you wrong. It seems like you want to be successful by yourself alone. Chaeyoung is the 1st ranker here, but she always lends her note to us” Eunha helped Umji so she could copy Yuju’s notes.

“Then, you should borrow it from our pure-hearted angel. She is so kind so she will lend everything to you. Her notes are very neat and user friendly. Even if you not paying attention at class you will easily understand it by reading her notes Right, Chaeyoung?” Yuju looked at Chaeyoung who just came in from the clinic.

“Ah, well, my note isn’t that great. I am not paying attention to the lesson lately. I also didn’t manage to write some parts though,” Chaeyoung was surprised because she was suddenly dragged into this conversation.

“Or, you can borrow Eunha’s notes. She was diligently wrote every single things that the teacher said. Moreover, I didn’t really like people who make a copy of my notes. I spent a lot of time making this notes by reading the book and make a resume. But you just easily copy it. Sorry if I seem selfish, but I won’t lend it to you. But if you asked me to teach you some difficult part, it’s okay for me,” Yuju keep rejected Umji’s request. She packed her bag then quickly left the classroom.

“Nah, what a stingy girl. She was too selfish to not lending her notes. She is smart, but she needs to fix her attitude,” Eunha was annoyed at Yuju’s behavior.

“My sweet angel, where have you been? Yuju said you were resting in clinic. Are you not feeling well?” Sowon hugged Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung smiled and ensure them she was okay. She was in a rushed while packing her belonging. She zipped her bag after put all the book into it. But then, she opened it again and searching for something.

“Why did you look so rushed? Do you have a date after this?” Sowon asked.

“No, I am not. You guys also know I don’t have a boyfriend,” Chaeyoung didn’t pay attention to Sowon’s joke and continue to search for her phone.

“Do you looking for this?” Yerin took out Chaeyoung’s phone from her pocket.

“Ah thank you. I thought I lost it,” Chaeyoung quickly put it in her pocket.

“Are you sure you aren’t going for a date? Then, who is the guy on your phone screen?” Sowon began to interrogate her.

Chaeyoung was confused for a second. She looked on her phone and cursing silently. She forgot to change the wallpaper. She met Jin yesterday. And it was a must to set the picture of her and Jin into the wallpaper.

“Ah, that guy is my brother. I look good in that picture so I set it as my wallpaper,” Chaeyoung quickly grabbed her phone from Yerin’s hand.

“Ah, I see. I thought your brother is still middle schooler. He looks matured for middle schooler,” Eunha joined her gang to dig the information.

She knows she can’t escape this interrogation but she needs to go right now. Namjoon was waiting for her. She managed to escape by using the reason that she wasn’t feeling well. Luckily, her friends could accept it but they said it will continue tomorrow. Chaeyoung took a revealed breath silently.

Chaeyoung rushed into the bus station. Yuju was still there, waiting for the bus. More precisely, she was waiting for someone. The bus which she rides on was passing by while Chaeyoung arrived. Chaeyoung walked closer and sit beside her.

“Thank you,” Chaeyoung opened the conversation.

“For what?” Yuju answered.

“Earlier. I know you didn’t mean to say it to Umji. I know you were frustrating over my behavior. You haven’t change since the first I knew you. Well, we weren’t a close friend to begin with. But, we have been going to the same school and even on the same class often. There is no way I didn’t know about your character,”  Chaeyoung said it while playing with the edge of her skirt.

Yuju hands out a pile of papers and put it on Chaeyoung’s lap. Chaeyoung was surprised while she was looking into that paper.

“You were struggling to catch up the last lesson, right? I write down a note which you can easily understand. It’s not as great as yours but, it was quite useful. Just keep it by yourself. Don’t give it to anyone. I hate it when people tried to take advantage on others without trying to make an effort first,” the way Yuju’s speak and hands out the notes sounds so cool in Chaeyoung’s view.

“Thank you so much. And I am sorry if I make you frustrating. As you know, I am not the type who can vocalize my opinion. I am very thankful, but, I hope you will stop to do this. Everyone will get a wrong idea. They might think you are a selfish person while you are not. I feel bad for you,” Chaeyoung staring into Yuju’s copied book and felt touched.

“Nah, you don’t have to think that way. We all know about it. I am fine though. I don’t care what were they thinking about me. Besides, I am not doing it for you. I am doing it for myself. You don’t have to feel sorry. Anyway, I have something to tell you. Well… Actually I don’t know whether tell you about this or not…,” Yuju was hesitating. Chaeyoung turn her head and looked into Yuju’s face. Waiting for her to finish her words. Yuju panned her head. She was checking Chaeyoung’s reaction. After looking into Chaeyoung’s eyes for a while, she showed a sad expression.

“Ah, nevermind, I will tell you later. Once we finished the final exam. I don’t want to disturb your concentration. Nah, your bus was come. See you later!” Yuju stretch out her head and made Chaeyoung turned her head to look into the bus. Chaeyoung thanked her once again. Actually Chaeyoung was very curious, but it seems like it was serious problem since Yuju postpone to telling her.

Yuju and Chaeyoung wasn’t a close friend. They were simply knew each other because they went into same school. They were classmate for 2 years in middle school and reunite again in the 11th grade. They have been a rival since a long ago. Although people will thought they weren’t in a good relationship, actually it was the opposite. They know each other very well. It kinda hard to explain how come they know each other without spending much time together. But, some of their friends said, maybe it was a special bond which only a high ranker had. It sounds funny, but at the same time, it also true.

Chaeyoung arrived at the nearest bus station where the café Namjoon’s mentioned was located. She was searching around the area to find that café. Luckily, she didn’t have to walk to far because it was near the bus station. Unlike usual, Namjoon was already arrived. There was still 10 minutes left before the meeting time. Chaeyoung walked towards him with heavy breath. She was afraid to be late so she walked faster than her usual pace. The place was quiet far from her school. Before she entered the café, she put on her mask.

“Hi, I am sorry, I just come. Are you waiting for long?” Chaeyoung sat in front of Namjoon who was reading a novel. Namjoon took off his eyes from the novel and looked into his watch.

“You weren’t late though. You come so early. No need to apologize,” Namjoon closed his novel and put it into his bag.

“Haha, you were right. Then let’s say I am apologizing because I disturb your reading time. So, did you finish your homework? Is there any difficult question?” Chaeyoung open the tutoring session. Namjoon took out a book from his bag and handed it to Chaeyoung. She was scanning his answer but pausing when she looked Namjoon was ready to leave.

“Do you have important appointment right now? Seems like you are ready to leave,” Chaeyoung closed the book and stared at him.

“No. I just want to go home. I handed my homework to you. And I don’t have any question. Besides, it seems like you weren’t feeling so well,” he answered then drank his remaining grape juice.

Chaeyoung was shocked at first. How could he thought she didn’t feeling well. Then, she realized she was wearing a mask. Maybe, he thought she has a cold.

“Can we have a talk for a couple minute?” Chaeyoung stopped him for leaving.

Namjoon who just lifting his bottom put it back again to the chair. He folded his arm and staring at Chaeyoung. He showed his intimidating poker face.

“So, truthfully speaking, I feel so uncomfortable with our tutoring session. I feel bad towards your mom. Because I thought I didn’t teach you anything. Perhaps, you have something that you didn’t like from me? It’s okay to tell me,” Chaeyoung let out her worries.

“Why did you feel that way? Because you feels like you got salary without working? Or you are worry that you won’t get a salary since my mom paid you per hour?” Namjoon asked her back.

“HAHAHAHA… I don’t know you are very funny. Fortunately, no. She offers to pay me per hour but I refuse and I told her to pay me per session instead. It has nothing to do with payment. Yeah, I just thought you are uncomfortable with me. Judging from how quick our session was. And, yeah you were right. I feel uneasy because I got my salary but I feels like I didn’t teach you anything,” Chaeyoung laughed and impressed towards Namjoon’s comment.

Namjoon was surprised and confused at how Chaeyoung respond to his comments. He made savage comments but she thought it was a joke. What a funny girl.

“You gave me the problems to solve and checked my answers. That was enough for me. Don’t need to feel guilty. If you feel uncomfortable with me, you can quit being my tutor. Don’t worry, I will handle my mom. You won’t get the blame. But I suggest you to hold it until the final is over. So you may have enough time to looking for another part time job,” he responded.

“Thank you for your consideration. So, I can conclude that there is nothing wrong with me. I relieved to know that. Anyway, for the next session, can’t we meet it in your home rather than going to café?” Chaeyoung suggested.

“Why?” Namjoon looked suspicious with Chaeyoung sudden suggestion. Realized that Namjoon’s expression become weird, Chaeyoung was panicked as she thought maybe Namjoon got the wrong idea.

“Ah, that because… It’s hard for me to searching for the café that you mentioned. I think it will save our time if I come to your home. That’s it. I don’t have any ulterior motive,” Chaeyoung tried to answer as calm as possible.

“Really? But I think it will best if we meet in the café. It will be more complicated if your boyfriend found out you are going to some guy’s home,” Namjoon after he looked on Chaeyoung’s phone wallpaper which shown because of there is a new notification.

“Then, how about we meet at the same café? It is okay for you?” Namjoon feel sorry towards her.

“So, we really can’t study at your home?” Chaeyoung looked disappointed.

“It’s strange. Why do you insisting to go to my home? Don’t tell me, you planned to do something towards me right???” Namjoon put his arm around his chest and showed a scared expression.

“Hey, you rascal! How could you think something dirty while you are still a boy! Geez who taught you that! There is Ms. Gong anyway in your home. I don’t want to go to your home if she isn’t there though. Besides, I was the one who supposed to be afraid being alone with a guy,” Chaeyoung try hard not to laugh. She didn’t expect Namjoon was such a teaser and cute boy despite of his strong appearance. It made her want to get to know him well.

“Hey, do you think only guy could do that thing? Woman also dangerous you know. Anyway, I refuse to study at my home. You will quit anytime soon anyway. Just bear it. If you don’t have anything to say again, I will leave,” Namjoon took his bag then leave.

Chaeyoung went to the counter and order a cup of espresso. She needs a lot of caffeine these days. There were several days left before final exam. She was looking for a seat in the corner and had a low possibility to be seen by people. Fortunately that seat was empty. She took off her mask. It’s not comfortable wearing a mask while she was completely healthy. She wore it because she wanted to hide her face. She was afraid if she was bumped into someone from her school and they began to gossiping. Moreover, she was afraid if her friend thought she had a date with Namjoon. She knew it was not a sin to become a tutor, but somehow, her heart told her to keep it a secret from her friends. Her heart said that if she told them, the situation will be complicated.

She stared at the note book that she has been working on during the past month. She planned to finish it before the final exam this semester, but she knew she can’t finish it on time. She predicted she will finish it by the end of the exam. This note won’t be completely useless though. He will need it once he prepared for the university entrance exam. Yes. That note wasn’t for her. She wanted to give it to the guy whom she adored so much.

The idea to give him a gift was born while Jin reminds her that she should quit her part time job. That was the time she realize there won’t be a chance to meet him again. Although she know it will be useless to give him a gift since he didn’t even know her. But, she still wants to give it. The problem was, she didn’t have enough money to give him something useful. Especially when she looked at Nayeon’s gifts. All goods were expensive. She can’t afford to buy something like that. She rather used the money to buy food or shoes for Jimin.

Although her rational side told her that by giving him a gift won’t make him know who she was, she kept thinking what kind of gift that she should give. She thought to give him something unique and special. Maybe by giving it, he will remember her as one of his fans. Yes. She still have a slight desire to get noticed. She told herself, it won’t be useless. Even though he didn’t like it, she still feel happy and satisfied.

Days passed but she hasn’t has anything in her mind. One day, she was walking to the playground near her house. Jimin has a quiz the next day, so he was studying. Jimin always play music loudly in their room whenever he had to concentrate. Meanwhile need to singing to concentrate. The bed temptation was too high so she especially need extra treatment to concentrate to study. She was afraid her voice will distract Jimin so she decided to went out and looking for a place to study. She was stopped at the playground and decided to studying on the slide. The slide’s top was spacious and comfortable enough for her to study. Luckily, there was a light on that. While she was busy make a notes, she heard someone having a conversation. She was peeking through the space between the bars.

Her heart was beating so fast. It was him!! She quickly hide herself although she know it useless. At least she tried not to make any sound. The playground was so quiet in the night. She can hear the conversation between him, and someone who was his senior – she heard he called “sunbae(senior). He complained about how the school was against him playing soccer. The teachers always talk bad about him. Especially because he was accepted through her achievement in soccer. Some of teacher even said it in front of his face. They were against the school’s rule which accepted student through achievement way. Because most of them are the students who didn’t have a great academic track records. Not as good as their achievement. Those students also the one who caused the school’s rank threatened to drop.

Once, he was accused for cheating while doing a test. But, after went through some investigation, he was proofed innocent. That incident didn’t happen once, but often. He was losing his trust on some teacher. The accusation also made him tired. No matter how hard he tried to study, his achievement won’t be acknowledged by the teachers. When he got a good score, the teacher praise him with a sarcastic and untrustworthy tone. “ You did great. It was what the student supposed to do.” “Wow, it was unusual of you. I wish you could study as hard as your soccer practice.” “You got a good score. You did it by yourself, right?”. Not all the teacher was like that. Just several of them. He knows, the teacher also pressured from the people above to maintain the school’s rank and reputation. They also responsible to send their student to great university. He also know he should study.

The problem wasn’t because he can’t, he just won’t do it. Labeled as the rebellious, lazy and stupid made him give up on studying. He said, somehow that label suggest himself and block his mind to think positively. No matter how hard he tried to study, he won’t get a good score. Rather than spending his time for something useless, he chooses to practice instead.

Chaeyoung was shocked. She never knew that guy personally. This is the first time she heard about his private life. Somehow she can relate with that guy, although she was experienced the opposite. She was labeled as the good girl. If she did something wrong, people will take it as a mistake which every human in the world can do. If her score was bad, people around her may think she had a problem such as sick or there was an unexpected event that made her can’t study. She ever cracking the statue that her friend made for the art class accidently when she was on clean duty. The next day, the class was in chaos. They accuse one of her friend who was accidently touch the statue. The owner was mad but then, Chaeyoung admitted she was the one who caused the crack. As soon as she confessed, the owner was forgive her and told her not to worry. Fortunately the crack didn’t affect the owner’s score after Chaeyoung told the teacher it was her fault.

The good girl label automatically made her bring the huge burden on her shoulder. She also a human who can make a mistake. Maybe, because of that label, she was unconsciously tried to living as the real good girl. Maybe, it was the cause of her “too nice” personality.

After hearing that guy story, Chaeyoung got an idea to give him a note book. She was aware that her note book was great. Most of her friends always copying her note book whenever they preparing for the exam. She wish that by learning from her note book, that guy could learn thing easier and tear the label that was attached to him. She planned to finished the note book which contain the entire 1st semester material resume and give it to him before the final test. But, it seems impossible since the final test was around the corner meanwhile she only had several weeks left. Only if she didn’t busy with her part time job, her duty to taking care of the household, and also if she could concentrate studying at school (so she didn’t need to catch up the lesson by re-read the material) and had enough time to sleep, she could finish it right before the final test.

The past three days, she was spending her time to speed up the making of the note book. She spent 2 hours per day to working on it. She even sacrificed to not writing her own note book. Eunha once asked her whether she really didn’t make any notes. She was half lying while answer her question. She was making a note book, but not for her. So, she wasn’t practically lying. For addition, she also lazy and have no desire to make a note book since she found the girl from another school had a copy of her notebook.

Chaeyoung’s concentration was dispersed while she felt the vibration on her skirt’s pocket. She look at the phone screen, Namjoon was called her. She picked up the phone. Namjoon was asked her about her whereabouts and she said she was still on the café. Namjoon told her to not go anywhere. She hanged up. It was rare for him to call her. He was sounded like he was in hurry. 10 minutes later Namjoon called again and asked her where she was. He couldn’t found her in the café. She told Namjoon her seat position. Before he hang up, he already appeared before her.

“Hey, let’s take a picture. I forget to take it earlier,” as soon as he arrived, he positioned himself beside her and took a selfie. He checked it then he sent it to his mom.

“Why you weren’t using the old pic? Yesterday you take more than just one picture, right? Rather than coming back here, why you aren’t using it instead?” Chaeyoung asked him.

“I can’t. My mom is a lawyer. She knows better about examine a proof. I didn’t dare to fool her. She will find out immediately,” Namjoon answer her question.

“Yet you can lie about our tutoring session,” she seems confused by Namjoon’s contradiction response.

“I have been living with her for almost 16 years. So I know her character. I can lie to her, but I can’t manipulate the proof. And, as long as you keep your mouth shut, she will never know about this,” he seems like he finally send it to his mom. He was about to leave, while Chaeyoung told him to sit down for a moment. She said he got one answer wrong. Namjoon was skeptical but also curious why he got his answer wrong.

“Are you sure I was wrong?” Namjoon was curious.

“Yes. Look at here. You didn’t put a minus while substituting,” Chaeyoung point out the wrong answer on his sheet.

“But I did put on a minus,” Namjoon was protesting.

“Yes you were right. But, it should be plus since the value of cosine in second quadrant was negative,” Chayoung explained her answer. Namjoon seems like he can’t accept it, so he took his answer sheet from Chaeyoung’s hand.

Chaeyoung draw a quadrant graph and make little notes on the sticky notes. She then sticked it in Namjoon’s sheet. Namjoon looked at the sticky notes but he didn’t say anything. Chaeyoung knew his characters. He won’t say anything when he realized he was wrong. He still have a lot of pride. Chaeyoung just let him be. He was too much alike with her brother.

“You should remember it carefully so you won’t make the same mistake,” Chaeyoung tap her pen on the yellow sticky notes that she just paste.

“How could you have this sticky notes?” Namjoon didn’t give a response to Chaeyoung’s advice but he was commented about the sticky notes.

“Is it something strange? You can buy the sticky notes in the nearby shop. Even they sell it at the convenience store,” Chaeyoung was confused by Namjoon’s weird question.

“No, I mean, I never found the brand with the rose printed on it. My mom has one of it. So, I was curious where were you bought that,” Namjoon point out the rose pattern on the sticky notes.

“Ah, this print? I draw it myself. I gave her one while we met. She asked me for a paper to write down an address while she was on phone. So I gave it this post-it. Then, she bring all of it with her,” Chaeyoung remember how Namjoon’s mom got her sticky notes.

“It seems like both of you are an old friend. Anyway, why it must be a rose? You also draw a rose on your note book,” Namjoon was curious.

“Ah, it’s because my name is Rose. My English name. That’s why I always draw a rose on my belongings. Even without writing my name on it, most of my friends will know it belonged to me. It’s easy to identify my things,” Chaeyoung chuckled while explaining. This was the first time she had a long conversation with Namjoon. And this time, they weren’t talking about studying. Somehow, it made her happy.

Namjoon nodded his head. He then looked into his watch. He immediately put his answer sheet on his bag then said goodbye to Chaeyoung. Before he left, he said to Chaeyoung that she didn’t have to tutor him on the exam period. He could handle it by himself. He told her, she also need to study for her own exam. Chaeyoung smiled and thanked him for worrying about her. She told him if he had any questions; don’t hesitate to ask her by text. He was quite embarrassing while he told her to don’t worry about him. He was indeed a cutie. Chaeyoung thought maybe Namjoon was starting to open his heart because she found out about his mistake on his math answer. As expected, from the arrogant genius’s disease. They tend to respect someone while their mistake was discovered.

Chaeyoung continue to work on the gift. She predicted the book will be finished after the exam’s end. She also planned to give it to him on the final day of exam. Which means, she only has one week left.
