After competing in several matches, Jungkook team finally got into top 16. This means they need to fight against 3 more teams to get the title of championship. There weren’t any matches during this week. It was because there were final exam for 1^st term.

Jungkook was bored because he can’t practice. All the extracurricular activities were temporary suspended by school. If they got caught doing club activity, their club will get a penalty. That’s why he always went to baseball arcade place to exercise. He didn’t want to ruin his friends’ exam that’s why he went there alone.

It’s already 8PM and Jungkook had to go home. He stop by in the nearest convenient store to bought a drink. He walked towards the clerk, ready to pay, but then he quickly walked towards the refrigator and took a can of coffee and add it into his grocery.

Jungkook put that coffee to the guy who was busy reading an English book. Namjoon look up to saw who was the one who put that coffee. He took off his earphone. Jungkook sat in front of him and sipped his orange juice.

“What a lovely sight. As expected from the number 1,” Jungkook took Namjoon’s book.

“What are you doing here? Wandering around at night? Are you supposed to study? I heard that your grade was kinda bad,” Namjoon opened the coffee can.

“You don’t need to remind me. I knew it very well,” Jungkook opened the potato chip and put some of the chips into his mouth.

“Your life must be happy. Smart and also good in sport. Perfect example of model student. You also the fast learner type. You don’t face any difficulty to understand difficult lessons. Ah, I envy you. You didn’t need to face a bad social prejudice,”

“I didn’t get it easily though. You are the one who made the prejudice,” Namjoon took some of Jungkook’s potato chips.

A message pop out on Jungkook’s phone screen. From unknown number. He check the message and immediately erase it.

“A girl? You are getting more popular lately. Congratulations,” Namjoon took his book back.

“Geez, popular my as*. Don’t get into other people business. Keep studying!” Jungkook scold Namjoon and put his phone into his pocket.

“I bet you are enjoying your life very well. Just doing something that you like. You are the definition of you only live once, your life is yours not others,” Namjoon continue to answer the question from the book.

“You must be see me as pathetic person. Well, you were right. Someone who was as brilliant as you, couldn’t relate and understand what kind of life I had going through. Dealing with all the scolds, nags, and disrespect gaze. Not only by the adults, but also from my friends and even my juniors. How pathetic. Ah, I wish I could have half of your brain. But, I won’t wish something that I can’t affords,” Jungkook lean his back on the chair and look up into the night sky.

“Of course I can’t relate. I never been through that humiliating. Well, it’s your choice anyway. I don’t have any rights to judge other people choice,” Namjoon took a glance on his senior but quickly pretend to read the book again as Jungkook straighten up his sitting position.

“Honestly, I don’t like you that much. But, I am proud to have someone like you in my team who can break the stereotype. I wish you could be a better captain who is respected by your teammate and also by the teacher. Anyway, it’s late. You should be at home. Don’t make your mom worry. I leave first,” Jungkook patted Namjoon’s shoulder and left him.

Tomorrow was the last exam day. Jungkook lied on his bed after took a shower. Jungkook was easily got annoyed whenever he’ve been told to study. It’s even more annoying when he heard it from Namjoon. He didn’t hate him. He just envy. He felt so sleepy and began to close his eyes. But then, Namjoon’s face was appearing in his mind while saying “Your grade was bad yet you won’t study. You just being uncool,” Jungkook opened his eyes widely then quickly sat on his desk. He checked the exam schedule. English. He hate it so much.

It’s already morning while Jungkook was wincing by the pain on his neck. He was slept on his desk that caused he can’t easily move his neck. Last night, He tried to study but end up use the book as his pillow. He was ruined. He didn’t learn any single thing last night. He look at the clock. He still have enough time to learn the most easiest chapter. Right after he heard his mom called his name to woke him up, he closed the book and get ready to go to school.

30 minutes has passed. Jungkook finished his exam already. He only answered the question that required to read the text to answer. For the grammar question, he just passed it. He only answer it with “feeling”. Whenever he felt the word was nice enough to combined with the sentence, he will use it as an answer. Who cares about the theory, just fill it using your feeling.

There were a lot of times left. Jungkook spinned his pen. Felt so bored already. The teacher was watching them from the front. Jungkook’s seat was on the last row, that’s why he could easily monitoring the classroom. Suddenly, something was catch his attention. He was focused on it and didn’t realize that the teacher was watching him. The teacher clear his throat that scattered Jungkook’s concentration. He look forward and saw his teacher made some kind of warning expression towards him. He quickly lowered his head and looked into his paper sheet.

Jungkook took out a pencil from his pencil case and began his self-study art class. He draw a random things on question sheet. Of course he won’t forget to made his sheet greener by planting some trees on it. He will erase that drawing when it already 10 minutes left. He knew it was the best things to do to spent the remaining time. It was safer than looking around the class.

The teacher come closer without Jungkook’s noticing. The teacher suddenly took Jungkook’s question paper. He scanned the whole paper. Looking for suspicious thing. He didn’t found any gave it back to Jungkook. Now, he took the answer sheet.

“How great. You finished it in 30 minutes. You’d better recheck you answer and think harder to answer. There are a lot of time left. But, never ever thought of cheating,” said the teacher while scanning Jungkook’s answer.

Jungkook patiently hearing his teacher’s comment. But, his eyes suddenly caught the same unexpected scene as he saw earlier. He saw Doyoung took out his cheet sheet. How foolish of him. Did he didn’t realize that the teacher was patrolling and he could be catched right handedly. Jungkook can’t call his name to give a warning. Jungkook force his brain to work faster to found a way to remind Doyoung.

The teacher finished checking Jungkook’s answer sheet and put it back on his desk. Right after the teacher about to left Jungkook desk, Jungkook purposely drop his pencil case. The whole class was looking towards him because of the noise. Jungkook apologize and slightly took a glance to Doyoung. Jungkook was relieved seeing Doyoung manage to hide his cheat sheet from the teacher. Thanks to Jungkook’s little accident that force him to look back and realized how close he was for getting caught.

The long day finally ends. All the student were celebrate the end of the exam week. Jungkook and his friends were one of them too. They decided to celebrate this day by eating  a fast food till their belly can’t accept anymore food.

“Excuse me,” said a girl who suddenly appeared in front of them while they were walking towards the pizza restaurant.

“Who?” Taehyung looked confused.

“Emm… That’s I…,” she was so nervous that caused her tongue stiffened.

“Huft, again? Hey Kim Mingyu, finish it quickly. I am so hungry,” Jungkook patted Mingyu’s shoulder.

“What? Why should I? I don’t know who she is. I never met her,” Mingyu gave an objection.

“Even if you don’t know her, maybe she knows you. Just settle this thing ASAP. We need to feed our empty stomach. You should pay half of the bill if you late 10 minutes after we put our bottom on the restaurant chair,” Jungkook warned him and gave a signal to the others to leave this matter to Mingyu.

Jungkook and the rest were walked ahead and left those two alone. Mingyu didn’t know who that girl was. But, she looks familiar somehow. Maybe, he ever met her but he didn’t remember her name. Mingyu tried to look at her school nametag. Unfortunately, it was covered by that girl’s hair.

“Jeon Jungkook!” the girl was cried Jungkook’s name before he walked too far.

Hearing his name got called, he stopped and turned his head. So did the others. They were so shocked because it’s not Mingyu whom she wanted to talk to but Jungkook. It’s weird because the one who was known as a player among them is Mingyu.

“Woaaah, Jeon Jungkook, you are getting more popular these day. As expected from our Captain,” Jaehyun .

 “Wow, it seems like Jungkook gonna steal Mingyu’s title now,” Taehyung look at Jungkook with his naughty smirk.

“You are all too noisy. You guys go first, I will finish it quickly,” Jungkook looked annoyed by all the tease.

Taehyung, Jaehyun, Dokyeom and Mingyu left him behind but they can’t stop giggling and gossiping. After his friends were out of his sight, he walked closer to that girl.

“What do you want?” he asked coldly.

“Well, hmm… I just…” the girl was stuttered as Jungkook getting closer.

“I am busy. Just tell me what you want while I am still being nice,” Jungkook was impatience.

“The thing is… I just want to…,” she opened her bag and seems like she looking for something inside of it.

“I like you. That is what do you want to say? I am sorry but I don’t like you. I don’t even know who you are and I don’t have any intention to getting to know you. You got it? Now, just go,” his hungry tummy was whining to get filled and trigger him to finish this quickly.

“This! I just want to give you this,” the girl finally found the thing that she was looking for and she hands it out to him.

 “Why bother to give me this thing. I don’t need it. All the girls are the same. They spent their money to something useless,” Jungkook accept the gift from that girl’s hand but then purposely dropped it.

Jungkook was known to didn’t have any interest in dating. He was only focus on soccer. Although his reputation as a cold hearted guy was already well known, it didn’t stop girls to adore him and even confessed their feelings. He always thought the things called dating is annoying and only wasting his time. Fortunately, he found out the quickest way to get away from girl. The key is by being a jerk. When you act nice, they will misunderstand it and thinks they still have a chance. That’s also mean they will become clingy. He didn’t want to act harsh but he didn’t have any choice.

“Stop wasting your time for something like this. Just go home and study,” Jungkook quickly walked away to made himself less guilty because he know, most of the girls will cry when he throw their gifts. Strangely, he didn’t hear a crying sound. He kept walking away then suddenly that girl grabbed his arm. She forcefully put the gift into Jungkook’s hand. Jungkook was a bit shock. She looked up and blushing as soon as their eyes met. But she quickly took a few steps behind.

“I… I don’t care whether you want to accept it or throw it away. I already give it to you, so basically it’s yours. But, even if you want to throw it, please throw in the garbage bin. You shouldn’t litter!” she scold him.

Jungkook was left with shock. So far, all the girls he rejected will got angry, crying or threw the gift to his face, but this is the first time he got scolded just because he didn’t throw the gift in the garbage bin. It was the most strange and ridiculous reaction. The girl looked shocked after she scolds him. She can’t lift her head up. She turned around then walk as fast as possible. But she come back again and gave Jungkook a 90° bow then run away.

 “HEY!! JEON JUNGKOOK!” Jungkook back to his sense thanks to Taehyung who called him. It seems like his friends weren’t walked too far. Probably they were hiding in some place far enough but still visible to watch the confession scene. He quickly put the gift into his bag to avoid being teased. He then rushly run towards his friends who wait for him.

“So, you reject her?” Jaehyun asked him as soon as they put their bottom on the restaurant chairs.

“Did you throw her gift?” Taehyung asked while looking on the menu.

“Of course. The fastest way to get away from the confessed girl : act like a jerk and throw away her gift -By the cold hearted prince, Jeon Jungkook-,” Mingyu .

“What a pity. She is kinda cute actually. And different from all the girl who confessed to you. She seems like a kind, plain and model student type. It’s quite shocking. How that kind of girl could likes someone like you,” Dokyeom’s words made them laugh, except for Jungkook, of course.

“You guys, stop it already. Let’s hurry choose the menu. The worm inside my tummy was crying,” said Jungkook try to avoid all the tease.

“Isn’t it amazing? How could Jungkook popularity suddenly rose up? He got many confession and receive countless gifts almost every week. Think about it again, it began after he dump Nayeon, right?” Jaehyun was amazed.

“Don’t said he dump her. It’s very unpolite for a girl. Just say, Jungkook just made a things clear,” Mingyu warned Jaehyun.

“Alright, I am sorry. Anyway you haven’t told us about that episode. What did you say to her?” Jaehyun tried to digged up the past story.

“I wish you didn’t said something harsh to her. She was kinda nice, though,” Dokyeom stared at Jungkook who busily stuffed a slice of pizza into his mouth.

Everyone was waiting for his answer but he seems didn’t have any intentions to answer.

“What? I just returned the gifts that she gave me. That’s all,” Jungkook answered the judging stares with his full mouth.

“Eyyy, don’t lying! What did you say to her?” Taehyung was curious too.

“I wish you to stop using my friends to tried to contacting me. And I also hope that you could stop give me something like this. I can’t accept it,” Mingyu was speaking instead of Jungkook.

The others were surprised, including Jungkook. Jungkook was almost choked by the pizza. He was surprised Mingyu was betrayed him and told the whole story. Mingyu was smirked. He planned a revenge because he was told to solve the matter with that girl (who turned out to be Jungkook’s fans) earlier.

“Then Nayeon said : What should I do? I don’t have any other way to get close to you. You know that I like you. But you keep playing dumb and act like you don’t know about it. I don’t any other way but to ask your friends for help,” Mingyu continued to reenact the scene by changing his voice into girl voice while he act as Nayeon.

“Actually, your existance was a burden for me. I don’t have any intention to dating someone like you. So, please stop contacting me and stop hanging out with my friends,”

“Then, why did you act nicely towards me if you didn’t like me? That time, you also treat me an ice cream,”

“My friend told me too. Now, I don’t want you to misunderstand again, so I will state it clearly. I never interested in you. And please, never tried to contact me again, because it was so annoying. I wish you could understand. Then, I am excused myself. THE STORY ENDS,” Mingyu finally finished his monodrama.

“WHAT THE HELL JEON JUNGKOOK ARE YOU CRAZY? How could you say something like that to her? She was too nice to heard that harsh words. You ugly basta** I really want to punch you in the face,” Dokyeom was furious after hearing Mingyu’s story.

“Well, I am agree. That was very harsh. Why you choose to said something like that? Won’t you have a better words to “make things clear” with her? You aren’t the cold hearted men. I knew it. I am shocked hearing what Mingyu’s said,” Jaehyun was surprised. As someone who was went to the same school since elementary, Jaehyun knew that Jungkook was a nice and polite guy. He also respect woman so much. Jaehyun know that he really loves and respect his mom. He could be naughty and rebellious, but he never hurt someone like that.

“I don’t have a choice. I already make things clear with her earlier. I repeteadly said in nice way that I didn’t have any romantic feeling towards her. I said we could be a friend. But, she seems took it the wrong way. She kept acting clingy and thought, if she tried hard, she still have a chance. That’s why I decided to do that. I don’t want her to waste her time, too,” Jungkook explained himself.

“And, since it was succcessful, you continued to stick on your jerk role to reject- no, I mean to make things clear with all the girl who confessed to you?” Taehyung made a conclusion.

“It seems so,” Jungkook’s expression somewhat change. He felt kinda guilty too. His friends realized it and quickly change the topic to console him.

“Well, I guess his bad boy concept wasn’t success to make him unpopuler, but it was the opposite. Girls like the cold hearted guy isn’t it? That’s why the confession queue are still long. If I was the one who said that sentence, maybe a whole jug will be splashed to my face,” Dokyeom tried to lighten up the mood.

“You deserve it, though. But fortunately, you won’t have a chance to taste it. Since, there are no girls who want to confess to you,” Jaehyun .

All of them were laughing and began to tease Dokyeom. They know Jungkook was sad and guilty. The fact that only Mingyu who knows the all story indicated that he went to Mingyu to consoling his guilty feeling. Since Mingyu was the experts when it comes to girls problem.

“I am home,” Chaeyoung open the door and come inside.

“Sis, you were home? Have you had a dinner?” Jimin, her brother, asked her.

“No, I haven’t. And you?” Chaeyoung put her bag on the floor then took off her jacket.

“Seokjin-hyung told you to come to his apartment if you haven’t eaten. He cooked a kimchi jjigae and left some for you,” Jimin turn off the PC after playing a game. He quickly climbed to his bed and getting ready to sleep.

“Have you finished your homework?” Chaeyoung looked into Jimin’s bag and check his book.

“Not yet. I am so tired, I can’t focus. I will continue to do it tomorrow. Wake me up early,” Jimin answered with his eyes already shut tightly.

“Yet you can focus playing a game. Wake up and finish it first. It’s better to stay up late rather than wake up early. I don’t want to bother wake you up in early morning. I can’t promise I could wake up early too,” Chaeyoung scold Jimin while texted Jin to tell him she gonna come 20 minutes again after taking a shower.

“Sis, I am promised I will finish it tomorrow. I am very sleepy. I can’t even open my eyes,” Jimin was begging his sister.

“Alright, but next time, I won’t spare you,” Chaeyoung gave up and let her brother sleep.

 Chaeyoung push the bell. Jin opened the door and let her in. Her stomach was growling as she smelled the delicious kimchi jjigae. She quickly sat on the dining table and in no time she devoured it.

“Hey, eat slowly. No one gonna steal your meal,” Jin smiled look at how she enjoyed his cooked.

“It’s so delicious that made me want to eat it quickly,” Chaeyoung smiled widely.

“Nah, you don’t need to say the obvious fact that my cooking skill is amazing. By the way, it’s already late so I will ask while you are eating. Have you quit your part time job? You said you will quit this month. But, I guess you are still working in there. Moreover, didn’t I say that I only gave you permission to work only on the weekend? Why did you still work on the weekdays?” Jin began his nagging.

“I feel uneasy. Ga Eun-unni asked me to replace her. She had to finish her project and no one was available to replace her. It’s busy time for the college student. I don’t have a choice but to help her. She was nice to me. So, I just want to help her,” Chaeyoung answer Jin’s question.

“How many times she asked you to replace her? If she didn’t have time for work, just quit already. You know I am against the idea for you to work, right? Especially on the weekdays. You are a girl. It is dangerous for a girl to walk around at this hour. And you, don’t forget to asked her to give your salary for the shift that you take in for her. If she refuses, I will ask her personally,” Jin took a cup of water then he gave it to Chaeyoung.

“Thank you. Don’t worry, I will definitely ask her to give my rights,” Chaeyoung showed her guilty smile.

“You also said it last month. But, in fact, she didn’t give it to you, right? Don’t lie. I know you very well. How about the resignation letter? Have you hand it to your boss?” Jin was still investigating her.

“Well, that… I haven’t. I forget to write it. So, I haven’t hand it over. Anyway, how is Jisoo-unni’s doing? Did she doing fine? Please relay my thanks to let me take this job. I owed her,” Chaeyoung finally finished her meal and drank the water from the cup that Jin gave her.

“She is doing fine. And don’t you dare to change the subject. I know you will say you haven’t written the letter. So, here, I already write it for you. You only need to sign it and hand it to your boss. You don’t want me to hand it to your boss personally, right?” Jin gave her a brown envelope.

Chaeyoung took it and read the letter that was inside the envelope. She didn’t have any reason anymore to delaying her resignation. She put the letter on her pocket then brought the dish into the sink and washed it. She did it quickly because she wanted to go home. She knew that, the longer she stayed here, the longer she will hear Jin’s nagging. She didn’t want to get scolded by this handsome man. She finished washing the dishes and quickly walked towards the door.

“Where are you going? I haven’t finished yet. Sit down,” Jin notice Chaeyoung’s intention so he quickly order her to sit down.

“I know you want to escape. But it’s not today. I know you are tired, but I have a big responsibility to take care of you and Jimin. I am playing a role as your parents here. So, listen to me carefully. First, if it’s already 10 o’clock when you got back home –although I wish you won’t do it- you have an obligation to call me. I will pick you up. You weren’t allowed to go home alone.

“Second, you should watch your words when you talk to a man. You are pretty. There are a lot of guys out there who want to date you. So, don’t just say anything. And, never said something like, I will come after taking a shower. All the man is a wolf, except for me. Moreover, you weren’t allowed to come into a man room alone. Whether in the day and especially in the night.

“Third, if you face any difficulties about anything, my door always opens for you 24/7. Don’t hesitate to knock on it. You understand?” Jin finally finished his long lecture.

“Sir, yes sir! Don’t worry too much. I don’t have anyone beside you. You are the only guy who I knew beside Jimin and Dad. I don’t even have male friend. You know that I went to girl school since middle school, right? Well, I had some male friends in the elementary, but they all live in Australia,” although it’s burdensome, but Chaeyoung was happy hearing Jin’s nagging. It showed that he really cares about her and Jimin.

“Of course I know. But, don’t forget that I have lived longer than you. I already read the story book when you are still struggling to crawling. You are on the age where the loves are blooming. I am not forbid you to dating, but you should bring that guy to meet me first. I will give my permission once I see him,” Jin gave her another warning.

“I understood. Thank you so much Captain Commander. I will do as you say. Now, I will excuse myself. Good night!” Chaeyoung gave him 90° bow. She opened the door, but then stopped because Jin called her again.

Jin asked her to give her phone. She took out her phone from her pocket and hand it to him. He checked her phone and looked satisfied. He gave it back to her. She said goodbye once again and rush over to her apartment. She was relieved. Luckily, she already anticipated it. Before coming to Jin’s place, she set her phone lock-key-screen to the picture of Jin and her. Jin said, it is to protect her from the guy who tried to hit on her. They will back off as soon as they looked at Jin’s face.

Chaeyoung lay down on her bed.  She was tired and her tummy was full. It made her sleepy. She looked at the clock on her phone. It’s already 11 o’clock. She hasn’t studying and made a resume for tomorrow lesson. She woke up lazily and walked towards her desk. She took out a biology text book and began to read it. She marked some important words with highlighter. After finished reading it, she wrote the summary on her notes.

She massages her shoulder lightly. It’s already 2.00 AM. She needs to sleep or she will sleep during the lesson. She set the alarm on 6 o’clock then crawling into her bed and falls asleep as soon as her head touch the pillow.

“WOW, FOR THE GOD’S SAKE! IS THAT REAL??????!!!! WOAH I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!!,”

Chaeyoung took off her earphone because of the scream. She asked Sowon what were that crowd of girls talking about. Sowon also didn’t know but quickly stand up and joined the crowd. She was curious what kind of hot gossip that their friends were hyped up about. Chaeyoung put her earphone back and continue to made a summary.

“BIG NEWS!!!” Sowon back to her seat with an excited expression. Eunha and Yerin who just arrived become curious because of Sowon.

“Nayeon was dumped by Jungkook! Woah, I didn’t know she got dumped by a men. Come on, dude, someone as gorgeous as Nayeon!! Our beauty queen!!” Sowon was surprised.

“Dumped? Are they even dating? I don’t know if Nayeon has a boyfriend. Her boyfriend was Jungkook? Jungkook as in Jeon Jungkook? The next-door school soccer team captain that we come to cheers several weeks ago?” Eunha ensure Sowon about the news.

“The rumour said so. Some girls saw them had a date after that match. There are even a picture of them eating ice cream together,” Yerin added.

“Who could know our queen will got dumped. I heard some girls tried to get close to Jungkook after found out about this news. Before, they didn’t lay their hands on Jungkook since they thought Jungkook was Nayeon’s boyfriend. Ah, but I still can’t get it. Why did they like someone like Jungkook. As for me, Kim Taehyung are always the best,” Sowon took out her phone and showed the picture of a cute guy to her friends.

“What are you guys talking about?” Chaeyoung had no idea as she was too focused on studying.

“Hey, who is you favourite? Eunha and I both choose Kim Mingyu. He is perfect and had everything that needed as a boyfriend. Such a boyfriend material. I can’t understand how could Nayeon choose someone who wasn’t popular like Jungkook. Mingyu is a lot better,” Yerin showed Chaeyoung a webpage which showed a picture of several handsome man.

“What’s wrong with this Jungkook guy?” Chaeyoung was curious.

“Among his teammate, he is the least popular around girls. Judging from his appearance, he didn’t lacking anything. He is handsome, have a good fashion sense and look so great in anything. Moreover, his ability as a talented striker become a point plus which made him popular and stunning. His position as a captain also made him look so charismatic. But, he was not as popular as Mingyu. He was known as a jerk and cold hearted when it comes to girl,” Eunha explained to clueless Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung nodded her head on Eunha explanation.

“I guess Chaeyoung aren’t interested in that kind of thing. The only thing she cared about was studying. Her ideal type must be a smart and model student guy. She won’t have any interest on athlete. Is it right, Chaeyoung?” Sowon tease Chaeyoung.

“Ah, I could recommend you someone that maybe close to your ideal type! Here, Kim Namjoon. He is a year younger. But he was cute. It was written on his profile that he got first place on the entrance exam and won several academic competitions. Totally your style!” Yerin was began to search that guy profile and showed it to Chaeyoung.

“How could you guys know about it? Isn’t that page was available only for that school’s student? You must log on with student ID, right?” Chaeyoung still amazed as she looked into the webpage.

“Oh, come on! All the girls are talking about it in SNS. And these days, log on into another school page was the most easiest things to do. Ms. Chaeyoung, what era are you living on?” Sowon was laughing at Chaeyoung innocence.

“Chaeyoung not using any SNS, you fool. No wonder she didn’t know anything,” Eunha reminds Sowon. Chaeyoung smiled. Yes. She didn’t have any SNS account for some reasons.

They went back into their seat as the bell rang. After received the greeting, the teacher told them to collect their assignments. Yerin was panicked because she forgot to bring her assignment.

“Chaeyoung, can I use you assignment? I forgot to bring mine. Please. If you asked Ms. Shim that you forgot, she won’t scold you. Pleaseee... For once!” Yerin begged Chaeyoung.

“But, you also can told her the truth. She will accept it, though. But she will deduct some score since you are late,” Chaeyoung tried to calm Yerin down and refuse it nicely.

“But, you are her favourite student. She won’t scold you if you are the one who begged. Since you always did the assignments perfectly and got great score in Math. She must be forgive you. Just help Yerin, this once. Even if your score get deducted, it won’t gave a great impact on your score. You will keep being the first rank and get an A,” Sowon help Yerin to persuade Chaeyoung.

Chaeyoung felt so uneasy looking at her two best friends. She gave up and let Yerin had her assignments. She apologizes to Ms. Shim. Luckily Ms. Shim forgive her and told her not to repeat it again. Ms. Shim forgave her because she know Chaeyoung won’t told the lie since she is always diligent and smart.

Chaeyoung was yawning several times today. She was very sleepy but tried hard to stay awake and focused on the lesson.

“Chaeyoung-a, I don’t understand. How could she suddenly got the value of variable A?” Sowon, who was her chairmate, asked her the question that she didn’t understand. Chaeyoung explained it to her. As she explained it to Sowon, she tried to pay attention to the teacher explanation. But, Sowon kept asked her a question. She can’t focus doing two things at the same time. She explained it slowly so Sowon could understand. In the end, she didn’t listen to the remaining lesson. She just wrote down everything on the board without even understand anything.

The break time finally come. Eunha, Yerin and Sowon were getting ready to go to canteen but Chaeyoung was still sitting on her chair. She said she won’t join because she was still full and she want to take a nap. After her friends left, she opened her notes and tried to understand the math lesson that was given earlier. There are several parts that she didn’t understand. She took her note book then she sat next to Yuju.

“Yuju, can you explain this part? I didn’t listen to Ms. Shim properly earlier so I didn’t understand,” Chaeyoung point out the part that she didn’t understand.

“Well, as you can see, just put the value that you got from previous equation into the new equation. Then you will get that variable value,” Yuju answered half heartedly.

“Hey, how could she understand if you explain it like that. She also know that without you told her. There are a lot of value that you got from previous equation. Which one of those value that should be inserted to got the right answer. Isn’t that what you are asking for, Chaeyoung?” Doyeon who sat behind Yuju scold Yuju for not answering properly.

“Then, why don’t you explain it to her?” Yuju was annoyed.

“She asked you because you are the best when it comes to math in this class. Can’t you just answer it?” Doyeon was began to felt annoyed too.

“Ah, I thought I got what you mean earlier. I will try to read it again. Thanks for the explanation Yuju. Sorry for bothering your eating time. Doyeon too. Thank you,” Chaeyoung didn’t want those two to have a fight. She quickly return to her seat. Her stomach was grumbling. She eat the bread that she bought last night and drank a milk as her lunch. There were a lot of time left in the break time. She decided to take nap because she can’t hold her sleepiness any longer.

“Hey, Nayeon’s cheerleaders team was very mad because of the gossip that spreading in the school. The gossip about Nayeon who was lying about Jungkook being her boyfriend. And also the gossip about she was confessed and got rejected. Some also said that she broke up with him. No one knows the truth. But, I heard the first person who spread those rumors was Chaeyoung,”

“Chaeyoung? Which Chaeyoung? It must be Son Chaeyoung, right? It can’t be Park Chaeyoung. Park Chaeyoung was too kind to spread rumors. She also didn’t care about this trivial matter. She is too fancy to spreading such a ridiculous rumors. She might spend her time to study. She is an angel. A kind angel. Son Chaeyoung must be the culprit. She was known to have ill-fated relationship with Nayeon,”

“Hey why are you talking about Chaeyoung here? She is sleeping over there. Lower your voice,”

“OMG I didn’t realize she was sleeping. I thought it was someone else. I never saw Chaeyoung sleeping in the class. Anyway, did she hear us?”

“Let’s try. Hey, call her!”

“Park Chaeyoung!”

“Hey, she didn’t answer. Go check her!”

“She wore an earphone. Thanks God. She must be didn’t heard it!”

The bell was ringing as the sign for the end of the break time. Chaeyoung woke up from her short nap. She still had the sleepy expression on her face although she was already awake several minutes ago. She took off the earphone which didn’t let out any sound. She heard it all. She was awake as soon as she heard her name being mentioned. She quietly put her earphone on to camouflage and pretending she can’t hear anything. She was relieved after hearing that conversation before. Yet, she can’t lie that she felt guilty towards Son Chaeyoung who take in for her place.
