Shards of UsThe first day she set her luggage there, it didn't bother him. He held his anger strong. He had everything he ever wanted. Even if they were to part ways, he would still be C.E.O. Byun Baekhyun. She gave him everything he ever needed but, that was exactly what he was overthinking. Without her, he would have been nothing. Had he really used her to his satisfaction?
On the second day, he didn't come home. Instead, he turned to Minji, someone he always found comfort in, but little did he realize he spent the entire day talking about his wife. How bitter he still was that she had done that to him. And, in return, she mindlessly nodded and rolled her eyes because Hana was a topic she thought she made clear to him that she despised.
Today, he couldn't believe what he was thinking. Was he really that concerned?
“When are you going to put that thing away?” his head tilted towards the suitcase that neatly sat on the bottom of the grand staircase. He had finally caught Hana outside of her room. He pocketed the wedding ring he had been playing around within his room for the last two hours.
Several days had passed and they weren't on speaking terms. Well, Hana wasn't on speaking terms, until now that was. To her, it didn't make a difference, since he ignored her presence anyway. On the other hand, Baekhyun found it uncomfortable because he became unknowingly afraid.
“That?” she said as she walked past him. Hana was on her way out to meet her friend, Jongin. “That there is a reminder to you that I'm this close to leaving this place,” her fingers pinched together showing him how close she was to leaving him.
“Hana, I'm sorry!” He held her wrist firmly from keeping her from further walking away. He finally said it, but it came out as anger and frustration. He hated her. He hated her for kissing him like that. He hated her for telling Baekhyun she loved him. He hated her most for lying.
“If you're so sorry, you would've apologized a long time ago instead of going to your Minji. Did she tell you to come and apologize to me, so she can play the nice girl you think she is?!” Her voice was equally frustrated.
“Why do you think everything I do involves Minji? Would you leave her out of things?!” he bit back, his questions, rhetorical.
“Well, I don't know. You seem to think she's much greater than I am. You take her on lavish dates and kiss her lovingly. Now, let me go. I have people to meet and places to go,” she answered.
“Where are you going?” His hold tightened around her wrist and she squirmed in pain. Her eyes blurred from the tears that threatened to fall. Her other hand helped untangled his fingers, but it was of no use.
