I really mean it. They strike the ending pose and Sooyoung immediately collapses.

“It’s been nineteen hours,” she groans, spreading out on the blissfully-cool floor. “Why can’t we go home already?” The other trainees clamor in agreement. The eldest sighs. “You know we can’t do that, especially with our debut coming up. We have to work our hardest so we can show the public our best.”

“Come on,” Sooyoung moans, kicking her feet against the floor. “What’s it going to matter if we’re all dead from exhaustion? Can’t we just take a break for, say, six hours? To actually get some ing rest?”

“We really can’t,” the leader sighs, pressing a hand to her forehead. “You know just as well as I do that we have to do this. Just because you’re the main dancer and know the dance well doesn’t mean everyone else has perfected the moves. I know Aerin hasn’t even nailed the ending formation.” Aerin glares at her but doesn’t deny the fact.

“Four hours? Two hours? Let’s get some food! Ramyun!” Sooyoung glances at Minhee, who only shakes her head and looks down at her thighs. “Seriously, what’s one bowl of ramyun gonna do? We’re already exercising so much, and it’s been an entire day since we’ve last eaten.”

“Sooyoung, it’s been 10 hours,” Anhee says, rolling her eyes.

“That’s not my point!” Sooyoung wails, rolling on the ground like a toddler having a tantrum. “Nobody’ll get mad at us if they don’t know, right?” The girls look amongst themselves.

“Well, she has a point,” someone says. “There’s no one here to stop us.”

“Even manager-unnie went home,” Aerin notices. “It’s too late for them to know, let alone care.” The rest of the trainees hesitantly nod, glancing at each other.

Seeing the girls act like this, the leader sighs. “Alright,” she grudgingly agrees, “but only after I make sure they’re actually gone. The girls cheer in response.

“Thank you, unnie!” Anhee yells, squeezing her in a huge hug. “We’ll work hard later!” They all rush to get their bags and wallets.

“I haven’t had ramyun in so long!” one excited voice pipes up. “I’m going to splurge tonight!”

“I want ice cream!”

“Chips! The barbecue kind!”

“Whatever,” the leader laughs, slinging an arm around Sooyoung’s shoulder. “Let’s just go already.”
