Jung Hoseok is the second son of the president of a large Korean conglomerate called Sangdan (Top) Group. He was sent to study abroad in the U.S. by the request of his older half-brother Min Yoongi, who is worried that his younger brother is going to be the one to take over the company and not him.Yoongi has befriended a girl by the name of Han Areum; a student Hoseok's age who lives with her deaf mother. On his return to Korea, Hoseok meets Areum by chance and is completely smitten by her. Kim Namjoon, the only son, and heir to a large high-end hotel and restaurant chain and is Hoseok's ex-best friend turned enemy and begins to pick on Areum upon finding out that she is connected to both Hoseok and Yoongi. The tension between the former friends with Namjoon also falls for Areum and the poor Areum finds herself between the rich boys.
