(Age 12)

                “Truth or dare?” my friend asks me.

                “Truth,” I say cautiously.

                “Who do you like?” she has a devilish smirk on her face.

                “I don’t want to say,” I hide my face in my hands.

                “Come on, you have to,” she urges.

                I sigh, “Fine, I like Eunwoo.”

                “Oh my gosh!” she gasps.

                “What?” I whine.

                “I didn’t think you’d like him! Really?”

                “Don’t judge me,” I nudge her arm.

                “I won’t judge but I want to see something happen there,” she smirks.

                “Shut up. Nothing would ever happen because he doesn’t like me that way.”

                “You never know… Anything could happen.”

                It’s been ten years since I told my best friend about my crush on Eunwoo. Throughout high school, my feelings for him developed even more but I never said anything about it to him because I didn’t need it to be another reason for him to tease and mock me on top of all the other ‘reasons’ he had.

                 After high school he moved away, assuming for school and I forgot about him and my feelings for him.

                I never expected for my best friend’s words to come back and haunt me years later. “You never know… Anything could happen.”
