Donghae was getting ready to go. Hyukjae has been sleeping for at least 3 hours and the doctor said that they gave him very strong pain killers which would help with the sleeping and that he could go.

But that was something he could not do... leave him here. It seemed cruel.

The other asked him to stay and he said that he would not go anywhere. It was 4 o’clock in the morning, his mum left him because she said she was feeling sick.

She left him there, all alone and vulnerable.

Delicate…

fragile…

He is broken and she left him.

You cannot do that!

I cannot also go, I am his friend am I not?

Nothing wrong with that… Donghae picked up the blanket that one of the nurses brought for him, rolled it up and put it behind his neck and put the reclinable chair up.

He could sleep anywhere, being in the army, in tough times, this chair was a luxury. Hyukjae’s hands were cold and so Donghae moved them under the blanket.

The last thing he could remember, was the image of a peaceful looking Hyukjae, sleeping soundly.

It has been a long time since Hyukjae has felt so comfortable, but when he moved, the pain in his ribs came back. He panicked. He tried to sit up, but he had the drip in his arm and when he flexed his hand, it hurt like crazy.

He whimpered with the pain, opened his eyes slowly, looked around, his heart was beating so fast until he saw in the corner of his room, so close to his bed…

Donghae….

His heart doubled in size. He stayed, because of him?

Why else would he be here…

It had to be for him, right?

He didn’t want to get his hopes up, but the evidence was stacking up in his favour.

Donghae used the blanket as a pillow, Hyukjae got rid of one of his blankets and with a lot of difficulty, threw it on top of Donghae.

He moved himself on the bed to be as close to Donghae as he could be. He never slept so many hours in his life, so he could afford to stay awake until the day came. The nurse arrived very early in the morning, put a new bag of intravenous medicine, without Donghae waking up.

The nurse looked at Donghae and she looked at Hyukjae afterwards, and said, “How can somebody look this hot, even when they are sleeping?”
 

Hyukjae smiled and said, “Making us poor mortals feel lucky just to be in the same room as him.”
