Description

Theirs was an association built more on living parallel lives, shared experiences. So when Youngbae buys a house mere blocks from Seunghyun they recognize the opportunity to be something else. Friends, at least. Together they explore the meaning of friendship, family, and love. 

Foreword

This is my entry into the Love for Sinking Ships short story contest. Please check out the other entries and give plenty of love to the rare-pairs and small ships!

Also: I had to write this in a bit of a frenzy to make the submission deadline. To that end, I had to abbreviate my usual editing process. This fic will be on a bit tighter a lockdown than usual as I work through the kinks. I'll open it up in a week or so after I've had the chance to go over it with fresh eyes.

Note: I will be updating this fic over the next few days, mostly correcting for spelling and grammar errors. Once complete (i anticipate it taking a couple weeks) I will unrestrict it completely.

Chapter 10: I'm honestly not sure I have the words to give this story the response it deserves.
It is beautiful. And it is painful. It is a story of love & friendship. And that sort of story bears an exquisite sort of pain. There's a deep longing & an ache there that must remained unfulfilled because it's fulfillment would result in more loss than they ever gained. It hurts to see them let it go like that because the reader can feel how deeply they wanted each other (you did a great job conveying their thoughts & emotions), yet I think they made the right decision. It would be even more heartbreaking to watch them lose it all & begin to regret that they ever were together. They need each other as friends more. And there's absolutely nothing lesser about that.
