Show Must Go On

Description

Lee Jinki, an author who writes YA literature, becomes consumed by the need to succeed. Kim Kibum, a graphic designer, becomes intertwined in a business that isn't his.

Foreword

Hello.

This story is what I consider the epitome of my writing. It's taking normal characters and turning them into heartless monsters who were not traumatized or otherwise psychopathic beforehand.

Jinki's obsession with success doesn't come from a very far-away place either. Obsessions are scary and wanting recognition can be dangerous, very dangerous. I assume being an attention- comes from the same place except on a much lower scale.

It's what I love the most about this piece because it feels real. The descend into madness is exhilarating and exciting and much more valuable than one would believe.

The murders are not gory, however, so if that's what you fear - fear not.

That said, I hope you enjoy. Comments will make my day as will upvotes.

Chapter 1: I've never seen a story like this in aff before. So many things were happening at once, while we see how one moment, when Jinki saw the book in the trash, triggered his conversion from a sane human being, to the depths of insanity. How a man is driven by his thirst for recognition and to be accepted for his talent to even the most atrocious acts, and no matter what is does or the praises he gets, it's never enough.

I'm surprised though that he didn't get caught for all these murders. I guess he was just lucky.

I really enjoyed reading this. The suspense, the action, the thrill and the way you presented all of them was great. Nicely done. :)

Chapter 1: I have no words for this. It currently left me in a state where there's so many things going at once, and I don't know where to start. In my head you built Jinki as someone who always wants recognition, not just for his works, but for who he is. He went away from the romance novels to write crime novels, but even that wasn't enough. He went out with the killing spree and wrote glorious novels, but that seem not to satisfy him. At the end, I guess he got what he really wanted with Kibum. He was recognized for what he is actually doing, for what he is, and there's nothing people can do about it. I think Guess Who would be where he would bare it all. Too bad Kibum is the one to suffer for this insanity.

This is really great. There are really times where I like reading these ambiguous crime suspense angst type of fics. And you write them well~

I'm quite surprised you mentioned you were really an angst writer. So sorry for not paying attention to this kind of things :(

Chapter 1: Well... . Minji this is... I have no words.
Obviously this isn't the type of fics I usually read but , this is so good ! It's incredibly well-written and woah, Jinki's insanity and the slow fading of his humanity is so well built and described. Like, whoa. Really.
The twisted way he turns his own murders into stories makes so much sense... He's kinda like a drug-addict, always looking for a fix, for a way to get people's attention and recognition, no matter what it takes for him to achieve it.
The end is amazing, like the fact that he keeps Kibum for last and that last sentence has so much impact !
This isn't like anything I've read before, but it's a masterpiece ♥
