The sound of the door being opened and closed reverberated through the small apartment as Kyungsoo put the stew on shimmer. He wiped his hands on the small washcloth before hurrying his towards the entryway with careful steps. He smiled as the taller man came into his view. He took the bag from Chanyeols shoulder as the taller man leaned down to place a chaste kiss on his lips.

"What are you cooking, Soo?" Chanyeol asked, opening his socks. "I could smell it from downstairs."

"Really?" Kyungsoo wondered aloud to which the taller man nodded enthusiastically. "Nothing special I just tried janchi guksu from internet.."

"I can't wait!" Chanyeol beamed, making his way towards the toilet to freshen up. "I'll clean up in a minute then I'll set the table for us okay? Don't do it by yourself."

Kyungsoo couldn't help but chuckle at the way Chanyeol told him. "Sure Yeol I'll be waiting for you."

Kyungsoo smiled to himself as he sat down on the sofa. He instinctively rubbed his belly as he waited for the taller man to finish. But now that he finally got to relax for a bit, he couldn't help but think how everything has changed over these last few months.

When Chanyeol made those promises that night, for a moment Kyungsoo couldn't believe him. After all, it was natural, given the situation they were in. But he must say that he was surprised to see how much Chanyeol changed after that night. It was like a miracle, a turning point for the taller man because he really did make everything come true.

Kyungsoo was astonished to see how well Chanyeol pulled himself together. He really did graduate with top scores and accepted that job Junmyeon hyung offered him. He still remembers how overwhelmed Chanyeol was when he got his first salary after working hard. And after that they didn't had to look back.

It felt like the days of their misery was finally over.

Kyungsoo sighed happily as he looked down at his belly. His lips instantly curled up in a smile as he rubbed tummy. He really felt happy with where his life was going. Even though his feet were swelling, even when his back was killing him, he was truly happy after a long time. He knew that being a father at the age of 24 in their generation was not normal. But when has his life been normal, to begin with?

He got married to a prince just by filling a random form!

His chain of thoughts interrupted when Chanyeol placed the pot in front of him with a small thud. He looked up and saw that the taller man had already set their table. He got up from his seat and walked towards the table. He noticed how Chanyeols eyes lingered on his form but ignored it in favor of serving the taller man.

When he finally settled down, Chanyeol instantly started to bombard him with questions about his day. Since Kyungsoo was already in his seventh month, he hardly went out of the house. That's why Chanyeol was always worried about what the smaller man doing when he was not there.

"Ah!" Chanyeol interrupted, making Kyungsoo stop on his speech about cradles. "I almost forgot!"

"What is it?" Kyungsoo asked, placing his spoon down.

"I have to go to Busan tomorrow"

Kyungsoo sighed. "You really have to go?"

Chanyeol nodded looking down. "It's for a project. And moreover my superior recommended me so I have to go..."

"When are going to return?"

"I'll be back the next day," assured Chaneyol. He then got up from his seat and kneeled in front of Kyungsoo and quickly embraced him. "I know you don't like being alone Soo But I really can't help it. If I don't go, my boss might get angry at me..."

The smaller man lets out another sigh as he combed his hands through Chanyeols curly hair. "Its okay Yeol  ah But..."

"But?" Chanyeol asked, looking up at the Kyungsoo.

"You have to bring me some sweets" Kyungsoo chuckled. "Looks like your son really loves sweet things..."

Chanyeol laughed, getting up from his position and going back to his chair. "Don't worry! I'll bring a truck full of sweets."

"Really?"

"Yeah!" Chanyeol nodded his head with beaming smile. "Anything for you, Soo..."

The next morning when Kyungsoo woke up, Chanyeol was already up and ready. He squinched his eyes to see better but groaned as soon as soon as the sunlight hit his eyes. He then grabbed his glasses from the bedside table before getting up and leaning against the bed. It was always hard to get up in the morning because of the baby, so he took a few deep breathes to stabilize himself.

"You're already leaving?" He croaked out, his voice raspy due to sleep.

"Yeah" Chanyeol replied while struggling with his tie. "I have to catch a KTX at 8."

Kyungsoo nodded as he watched Chanyeol struggle. Then with a soft sigh, he got up from his bed and walked over to the tall male before pulling him down by the shoulder. Chanyeol let out a yelp before shutting his mouth as he realized what Kyungsoo was doing. 

"You're such a big baby Yeol What am I going to do with you?" Kyungsoo said, his word laced with affection as he tied the tie successfully around the taller man's neck.

"Mmhh. Let me think..." Chanyeol answered, putting on a fake thoughtful look as he sneakily wrapped his arms around the smaller man's waist before pulling him close. "You should pamper me Soo..."
"I guess you're right" Kyungsoo hummed, playing along. "I should pamper a big baby like you... Come here.."

With that, he pulled the taller male down to place a soft kiss on his lips before hugging him tightly even though his belly created quite a gap between them. They stayed like that for a long time until Chanyeol informed the smaller man that it was time for him to go if he didn't want to be late. Kyungsoo whined a little but when he saw the time, he reluctantly let go of the taller man.

"I'm going to miss you Yeol..." Kyungsoo murmured, avoiding the taller man's gaze. "Please return as soon as possible."

Chanyeol couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable Kyungsoo looked right now. Hence he cupped the smaller man's face as he pecked him all over the face, making Kyungsoo giggle before saying "I'll only be gone for a day Soo"

"I know that Yeol... But. I just.." Kyungsoo hesitated because he honestly didn't know how to express what he was feeling inside.
 It was a weird mixture of anxiety with fear and worry. He knew that there was no reason for him to be worried like this but he just couldn't help it. Thinking Chanyeol was going to Busan somehow made him agitated. Maybe it was due to the hormones.
