CHAPTER 42: Problems

Days has passed since what happened to Minki. He started to get back to the normal cheerful Minki with the help from Dobong dong kids. Although sometimes they still found Minki looked gloomy when he was alone, but the kids tried to always accompany him, assuring him that he still and always has them.

As everything went back to normal, the kids were going to school like usual. But this morning wasn’t usual, because both Hanna and Dongho got unexpected phone calls at their first break time in the normal Monday morning. They were in awestruck even after the phone hang up, until they were speechless and could only say it at lunch when they all gathered.

“Guys, I got a shocking phone call this morning..” Hanna said as soon as she sat on the cafeteria.

“Hah?? You too?” Dongho nearly spurted his meal when he asked Hanna.

“What?? YOU TOO??” Hanna was beyond surprised to hear Dongho’s question.

“Ya.. ya.. tell us what’s going on here?” Minhyun was curious. “Hanna, you first.”

“Okay..” Hanna took a deep breath before explaining, “So, this morning, at the first break, out of nowhere, unexpectedly, I got a phone call from YMC Ent.”

Even with that brief explanation could make Namjoo jumping in surprise. “What?? YMC Ent?”

“Yes. And they give me a chance to join their  exclusive audition for a girlgroup this Saturday.” Hanna added the explanation.

“Daebak!” Daehwi and Minki harmoniously responded with open mouths.

“Wait, so Dongho hyung will also j-join the audition?? F-for a girlgroup??” Daniel asked in confusion.

“Of course not, you punk!” Dongho snapped him. “I didn’t get a phone call from YMC Ent but Hanseol Sport University. They offered me a scholarship because my achievement in Kendo tournament.”

“DAEBAK!!” Daniel screamed so loud.

“Woah, those are good news for both of you.” Jonghyun’s comment took both Hanna and Dongho’s attention.

“Yes, it will be a good news if I'm not in my state right now.” Dongho responded fast and soon followed by questioning looks from his friends.

Jonghyun frowned. “Why?”

“Remember, I have promised my dad to quit Kendo.” Replied Dongho before sighing.

“You can talk to your dad, Dongho ya.. This is a good chance for you.” Minhyun told in serious tone.

“Yup, Minhyun is right. Convince your dad that this is once in a lifetime opportunity God give to you.” Jonghyun added.

Dongho sighed again. “Yes, I know that it's a really good chance. I want to take it too. But how? It’s not only about my dad. You know my mom, right?”

That question shut the kids’ mouth. They knew how Dongho’s mom will react to this news.

Shifting the subject, Minki asked Hanna, “But it surely a good news for Hanna. You’re getting closer to your dream as a singer..”

Contrary to Minki’s expectation, Hanna showed them a confusing face. “I don’t know..”

“What again? Your family don’t support you to become a singer?” Namjoo asked impatiently.

“No, it’s not that..” Hanna answered softly.

“Then, what?” Namjoo asked again.

“I don’t know.. It’s confusing.. I feel like I don’t fit a girlgroup.”

Hanna’s answer made everyone sighing, except Minhyun.

“Why? You’re a member of choir group, doesn’t it the same?” asked  Dongho confused.

Didn’t give time Hanna to answer, Namjoo added, “Okay, maybe you want to be a solo singer. But you can achieve it too after you joined a girlgroup. There are so many girlgroup member having a solo these days..”

Hanna could only respond with a sigh. “I don’t know.. I’m not sure..”

"Why'd you have to be so confused, Hanna? Isn't it your dream? You always say that you wanted to be a singer. Why'd suddenly you look like losing your passion?" Namjoo asked again.

Looking how Namjoo's question made Hanna bending her head down, Minhyun took control by saying, “It’s okay.. You still have time, aren’t you Hanna? Just think of it carefully.”

Hanna could only nod listening to that.

Dongho with support from his friends, was eager to fight for his dream. The first thing he would do was consolidating with Master Bumzu.  Bumzu promised he’ll help persuade Dongho’s dad regarding the scholarship offering.

Meanwhile Hanna was still drowning in her thought, doubting about her decision. That was when Daehwi poked her arm, while asking, “Have you heard that we’ll have a consultation regarding our carrier planning tomorrow?”

“Oh? I haven’t heard.” Hanna answered shortly.

“Yes, today is Social Class’ schedule, tomorrow is ours.” Daehwi explained. “You can use that chance to consult about the audition, Hanna ya...”

Hanna was thinking about the information Daehwi gave her, but Namjoo already commented, “Even without the consultation, the conclusion is clear, she should take that chance.”

“She’s still thinking about it, Namjoo ya.” Minki tried to help Hanna.

But Namjoo insisted, “That’s the problem, Minki ya. She think about the thing she’s not supposed to think!” Namoo straightened her seating position before asking, “Okay, let’s just do voting. Who think Hanna should join the audition?”

Hanna looked around, Minki and Daehwi were still contemplating, but in the end they raised their hands.

“One, two, three.” Namjoo counted the person who raised their hands including her. “See? We’re all supporting you, Hanna. What’s to be doubted?”

Hanna could only sigh again. What I really doubt actually? She asked herself.

School went by really long, moreover it was Monday, and they had a night class. But during the lessons Hanna couldn’t be focus, her mind was always thinking about the phone call she got this morning, whether she should take the opportunity or not.

Dobong dong kids went home while chatting as usual. They talked about how nervous Dongho will be when he comes home and has to face his dad and mom. The letter of notification about the scholarship would have been got by his dad at school and his mom had also been found it at home. Bumzu has also met Dongho's dad and talked to him, but he told Dongho that his dad hasn’t give any comment.

All focused on Dongho, until they didn’t realize that Hanna had been quiet since. She herself was still confused with what would be her decision.

Just before they parted to their homes, Minhyun called Hanna. "Hanna ya ..."

“Uhm?”

“Don’t be stress over it, Hanna ya.. It’s okay if you take it slow..” Minhyun said it before waving his hands and going inside his house, leaving Hanna with a little smile on her face.

Minhyun always know how to make her heart warm. But still, Hanna’s mind couldn’t stop thinking what decision she should take.

Hanna went inside while bending her head down, feeling gloomy. But then she was surprised to see all of her family member gathered at the dining room, except Grace whose might have fallen asleep.

“Oh, Hanna ya.. Come here, your brother bring home pizza..” Her mom called her to come over.
