CHAPTER 30: Wish

“But how?? Do you really want me to tell you?"

With how intense Minhyun stare at her, Hanna was confused. She could only nod softly while murmur, “Y-yeah..”

“Then let me tell you what’s inside my heart. Don’t you know that I always think about you? Don’t you know that I always want you by my side? I want to keep you only for me. But why’d you keep mentioning other name? Why’d you never think about me? Why does your heart beating for someone else and not for me?” Minhyun said it emotionally. “I like you...” Minhyun told Hanna in his most sincere way, and it made Hanna fluttered.

“I really like you.. How can you not notice that, you fool?”

Their eyes was locked for a moment and it made Hana froze.

She couldn’t believe what she just heard. Her heart was beating so fast for just listening the words Minhyun have said. Her brain tried so hard to digest those words but it was nonsense for her. Minhyun is her best friends, always being her best friend. What would she do after this? She didn’t want to lose him. She never expected this twist. She didn’t want this twist.

So she could only reply, “Ya.. Please, don’t say that it’s true..”

Minhyun’s heart was falling deeper and deeper into the black hole. That words Hanna said was enough to tear his heart up. You shouldn’t have said it, Hwang Minhyun. You’re not the one whom she want.

Hanna was still froze, she looked really shocked with that confession.

Minhyun didn’t have a heart to see it anymore, so he decided to do something.

He laughed.

“Ya.. Look at your face! Why you look so shocked? I just showed you an example."

Listened to that, Hanna loose a deep sigh, like the weight on her shoulders have been taken off. She snapped him, “YA! WHAT ARE YOU JUST DOING??!”

“Do you think I’m serious? Do you really think that I really like you? Gosh, wake up, Kwak Hanna?!” Minhyun forced a laugh.

With that, Hanna hit his arm. “DON’T DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT, AGAIN!! DON’T YOU KNOW YOU JUST GAVE ME HEART ATTACK??!!”

“But you’re the one who want me to show you..” Minhyun was acting, he tried to laugh it off.

Hanna hit his arm multiple times, while saying, “Don’t joke like that again, Hwang Minhyun! You are really mean!”

Minhyun accepted every hit Hanna gave him, he was surrender. Because inside his heart, he also wanted to beat him up for saying those words, for letting those confession out of his mouth.

When Hanna stopped hitting Minhyun, she directly covered her face, trying to hide her tears.

Minhyun was surprised by that. He didn’t expect Hanna would be in tears. “Ya.. why’d you cry?”

Hanna was in tears, she didn’t know why but the tears was just falling on her cheeks.

Minhyun was confused. “Ya... why’d you cry? I’m sorry.. I would never do that again..” He took away Hanna’s hands that covering her face and leaned over, “I’m sorry.. Please stop crying..”

Hanna looked away as she wiped her tears. “I will be the cruelest woman on earth if you really like me, Minhyun ah.. Don’t make me a sinner.. I don’t want to hurt you..”

Minhyun chuckled. “Oh, come on, there are many beautiful girls chasing me, why should I fall for you, please?”

“That’s a relieve!” Hanna snapped him and then hit Minhyun’s arm again. “Hish, why are you so good in acting?”

“I should have been an actor, right?” Minhyun tried to joke to melt the tension.

“You jerk.”

“Should we practice it again? It’s your turn now.. “

“Just forget it. I don’t have any mood to practice it again.” Hanna told Minhyun firmly and it made him laugh.

But behind his laugh, he told Hanna in his mind, ‘I wish I could tell you the truth.. I wish I don’t have to lie to you.. But I don’t want to lose you.. At least, I still can be by your side..’

After that night, Hanna reduced her possible meeting with Minhyun. She still felt uncomfortable after his joking confession that time, so she didn’t do any discussion related to Jonghyun with him anymore. She practiced the dramatic lines of her confession by herself. Days passed so fast, and it was already Friday, Day-1 for Hanna’s confession.

At the break time, Hanna tried to talk with Jonghyun. Fortunately she met him on his way to the class from the library, alone.

Hanna approached him and directly asked, "Jonghyun ah, do you have agenda tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? Just working at noon as usual. Why?" Jonghyun simply answered.

Hanna started her move. "Can't you give me tutor in the morning? I don't really get math. I'm lacking so much."

Jonghyun simply nodded. "No problem. Ask the others to come too. "

As expected, Hanna has ready with the answer. "Ah, yeah, I'll ask them to come too. But Jonghyun ah, what do you think if we study at Metro Library? I think it will be better if we change the atmosphere, so we won't get bored."

"Metro? That's good idea. There are many good books there. We'll be having fun." Jonghyun smiled broadly.

And it made Hanna smiling the same. "Yeah. Surely we will."

Hanna couldn’t sleep at night, she was nervous about tomorrow. The D-day of her confession.

She had recited what she would say multiple times, but she was still scared if she couldn’t say anything when the time comes. She couldn’t release her nervous by calling Minhyun because she didn’t want him to joke around again. But seemed Minhyun knew her the most, because he was the one who call her and comfort her, telling her that everything will be okay if she was confident.
