He had been walking back home when he saw a person unconscious in the middle of the sidewalk.

He run to them and crouched at their side but he didn't dare to move them, afraid of causing more damage.

He took his phone from his jeans' pocket to call an ambulance but for some reason the device slipped from his grip and clattered to the ground.

When he tried to reach for it he realised he couldn't move any part of his body: it was like he was frozen in place.

Then, one hand touched his jaw making his head turn. 

The last thing he saw before blacking out were unnatural coloured eyes.
