Butterfly [ON HIATUS...]
Description
“Love is like a butterfly. It settles upon you when you least expect it.” But does love at first sight exist? What if you have someone else you thought was in your heart? Or what if you suffered a different heartache but found someone who could ease it completely? Maybe love at first sight will exist between a newly coffee shop owner and a yoga instructor?
♦♦♦
Shinhye moved to Seoul to begin her life and escape her heartache and sad memories. She lost her parents to a tragic car accident 2 years prior and has since then lived with her grandmother in Gwangju. Her grandmother owned a local restaurant and refused to leave it behind to move with her but encouraged her to go and live for herself because she was still young. She had money saved from her parent’s inheritance to help her pay for her apartment and anything else. But once in Seoul, she decided to open a small yoga studio since she became a yoga instructor to help her ease the heartache from losing her parents.
A week into his arrival in Seoul, Yonghwa finally laid eyes on the most natural and beautiful woman he ever seen. His heart involuntarily beat for the woman walking into the yoga studio 3 stores down from his grandfather’s coffee shop. What should he do? Shinhye was ignorant at first to acknowledge him as she focused on yoga. But he was willing to become friends with her. Should she let her guards down and allow him in her heart?
Foreword
“Annyeonghaeseyo!” Yonghwa shifted his attention to the door when the bell dinged above.
Just before he bowed, he glimpsed at the beautiful woman walking gracefully to the counter along with two other ladies her age. It was the third time he seen her beautiful face but first time finally having the chance to speak with her. He was mesmerized by her gracefulness and impressive figure.
“Annyeong…….haeseyo.” Shinhye broke midway into her greeting when she noticed the dumbstruck face of the man behind the counter. She giggled to herself.
Yonghwa quickly blinked and cleared his throat, straightening his tie and apron. “What can I make for you beautiful ladies?” His full attention directed only to Shinhye.
Shinhye noticed her two students staring back and forth between her and the handsome man. She cleared and spoke. “What would you recommend? Perhaps tea if you serve any.”
“Ah…tea. We have an assortment of the best tea in Seoul. From tea directly imported from London, to the ports of Italy, and the best from the Korean countryside.”
“Waah. Impressive. What should we try?” She left his eyes and asked her two students.
“Whatever seonsaengnim suggests. We had a great and tiring workout. We’re gonna go find us a spot. You got the order, ne?” One of the ladies winked at Shinhye and grabbed the other ladies arm and pulled her along to an empty table by the window.
Shinhye felt embarrassed that they just left her alone to order for them and to talk alone with the handsome man. She met his waiting beautiful eyes and felt her heart thump hard. “Uhh……” She cleared . “Maybe-“
“A chamomile tea?” Yonghwa felt like he read her mind.
“Ne…I was just gonna say that.”
“I read your mind.” He gave her an unintentional y smirk but changed to a straight face. “Your friend mentioned workout so I assumed you need something calming. Yoga can be tiring on the mind and body yet give you peace.”
“How’d you know we came from yoga?”
“I may have noticed you from time to time walking into the yoga studio a few stores down. Actually, I’ve wanted to introduced myself. I’m Yonghwa. Jung Yonghwa. Recent owner of this coffee shop.” He suddenly wondered where his confidence came from as he was always nervous to talk to her.
She gave him a suspicious glare, making him fidget and begin to explain himself. “Gotcha.” She smiled playfully at him, making him chuckle. “Bangabseubnida. I’m Shinhye. Park Shinhye. Yoga instructor and owner of the studio a few stores down.”
They both smiled and laughed with each other. Both feeling an unspoken connection.
