Baekhyun

The room was pitch black as Baekhyun sat in his corner sipping on scotch. In honesty, he was never a scotch drinker but under the circumstances that he was in. Under the circumstances his heart was in.. he converted himself to be a scotch drinker. He twirled his cup around as he stared into the nothingness of his room. The dark room showing no signs of anything but the comfort of the dark itself. Just moments ago, he called into the work to let them know that he was coming in for the night shift. 

His mind continously whirled around the night he told her to tell Joonmyun. It hurt him when she ended things with him because she was pregnant. Even if the child wasn't his.. he wouldn't mind to look after the child and her. He was always willing to do anything for her but she chose her path. She chose who. Maybe one day he'd understand why she chose him. Maybe he'd fall in love with someone else, he know what it's like to choose that person. 

Baekhyun knew that one day, he was going to have to face his fears of seeing Nami, but this time.. it wasn't the case. He wanted to avoid her at all costs. He took another sip of his drink and sighed. After a sixth cup, he still wasn't tipsy. Maybe it was because he took litle sips at little times, who knows.

A knock sounded against his door as it opened ajar. "Hyung?" The voice of his roommate uttered as the taller came walking in. "You're not going into work?" Baekhyun shook his head and stared at the nothingness once more. His lips thinned briefly before it formed a slight frown. "I'm suppose to be in at three, but I'll leave to be there around one." The ginger-headed man shrugged at the younger as Sehun sat down on the man's bed. "Are you sure you're going to be okay going in?" 

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

"I don't know.. I thought that maybe you'd want to stay away from Nami for a bit more." It's true that it's been a week or two since he last saw here. Since he last talked to her face-to-face. But work is work and he can't avoid it because of one girl that he's been in love with since the moment he met her. "As good as that sounds, I need to work." He sighed and got up, flickering on the lights as he allowed his eyes to adjust to the newcoming light. He tugged the door to his closet open as he rummaged to grab his work clothes, a dress shirt and slacks.

Sehun sighed and walked out of the man's room, shaking his head as he closed the door behind him. Baekhyun later felt his phone vibrate against his leg. He pulled out the phone to see the name pop up on the screen. He shut off the vibration and tucked the phone back into his pocket. Various vibrations bounced off from his phone allowing him to pull out his phone once more, rolling his eyes at the number of miss calls. He was going to see them at work anyway so why were they calling him?

Soon, the man was at work. He walked in through the back as he allowed himself to take the stairs. The stairs usually helped him think when things were at its peaking point of being bad. But right now, it's bad. His eyes furrowed when he reached the third floor where his office resided in the pediatrics ward. He looked around and noticed how empty it was. "Where is everyone?" He muttered softly to himself. 

He walked into his office and shut the door behind him, locking it as he changed into his scrubs while throwing on a white coat. He sat his satchel to the side before he began to turn his computer on and check for voicemails. It was then that his pager buzzed. It caught his attention when the messanger blinked 'CODE BLACK'. His phone went off once more as he looked at the screen. 'H. Nami ♡' 

"Hello," he answered. "Baekhyun?" Her voice sounded frantic as he listened to her question. "Where are you? Are you alright?" He blinked at her rambling, inhaling softly as he asked her to calm down and speak slow enough for him to understand. "I.. Baekhyun please tell me you're not in the hospital." His brows furrowed, replying: "I am.. I'm in my office. Na, what's going on? Why are you so distressed?" She took in a shaky breath and he knew that it wasn't good for the baby. He asked her to calm down and breath before speaking. "Baekhyun please, just stay in your office. Please." 

"Where are you?" He questioned, still not understanding what was going on. He knew there was a code black but he didn't know where this was. "I'm on the third floor right now, I'm—" there was a clanking as she was no longer in hearing distance. "Na? Na, answer me. Na!" 

He stood up eruptively and yanked the door to his office open. She told him she was on the third floor, so he was going to find her on the third floor.
