“Ah...it's still pouring down...”
Jimin sighed, his breath steaming up the ground floor window while he stood beside you. Jin was on the other side, looking just as bummed out as you all watched the water cascading down the glass. It wasn't so windy now, but boy was it wet outside.

“Such a shame that our lovely Summer days turned into this...” Jin spoke sadly, and shook his head, tutting like a stern mother. “It's just disgraceful. Mother Nature should be ashamed of herself.”
“Yeah...” Jimin added, placing his hand against the smooth surface and staring out at the sodden grass in the garden. “...I hate the rain.”

You folded your arms and puffed up your cheeks, humming. The storm seemed to be subsiding bit by bit but it was still a risk to go outside, especially if you planned on driving anywhere. You were starting to miss the cafe though. The rainbow cake and Lim typing away in the corner. Jimin in his little black apron, diligently waiting tables with a kindly smile on his face.

Plus that day out with Namjoon had put you in a shopping mood. Speaking of which, when you turned away from the window to wander into the lounge, you took a quick detour into your bedroom and sought out his gift from your bedside table. Opening the compact, you eyed yourself in the mirror for a moment or two, before taking the brush half of it and running the soft white plastic bristles through your locks.

Maybe you'd have to find a way to repay them all. Perhaps now was a good opportunity to think of something. After all, you were at home. The most heartfelt gifts were always made here...

Cake. That was the first thing you thought of, because it had been lingering in your mind. You were fairly sure you didn't have the skills to make that rainbow cake alone...and you knew you couldn't rely on Jimin's help for this, so you decided to roll your sleeves up and tackle a slightly easier beast.

A classic chocolate cake. How hard could it be?

Well, you didn't go quite that simple. You decided to push the boat out a little and planned out a white chocolate icing that could go on the top, with some strawberries for decoration. Which you knew Jin would appreciate, along with the chocolate flavor of the cake. But Jungkook was probably going to be the most pleased about your choice of confection.

Getting to work in the kitchen while the others went upstairs to watch some television (which was thankfully working today), it wasn't long before Taehyung poked his head around the side of the wall and peered at you curiously. He must have somehow known you were making something sweet.
“Jagi? What's that?”
Glancing up at him, you smirked and tapped your nose with one finger, your other hand occupied with stirring the ingredients. You took hold of the bowl again to keep it steady.
“You'll find out~” you assured him, “-Go wait upstairs.”

Taehyung seemed to hesitate, obviously eager to know right now. But he didn't refuse, and went back to join the others again. Thankfully Train to Busan was on, so they'd probably be kept busy for a while. You had already seen it, though you couldn't imagine Taehyung enjoying it given how he seemed to be a bit of a scaredy-cat. He just kept getting cuter the more you discovered about him.

“Hmm...”
You hummed softly to yourself -settling on a soft, vaguer rendition of the piano piece that Jungkook had played for you- while you put the cake mixture in the oven, and worked on making the icing next. Your wrist was getting quite sore from all the stirring, but you pressed on. You didn't want them to come down before it was finished and spoil the surprise.
