HUNT 15: NIGHTCRAWLER AWAKENED PT 2
Taemin smiled as he was holding jisoo hand as they weren't on a mission, they weren't doing a favor, and they weren't covered in some creature's guts or blood. Taemin handed jisoo her ice cream cone as she thanked him as he took his own as they started to walk down the sidewalk. "so did you like the movie?" Taemin asked as he on his ice cream cone as jisoo nodded.
"I did. it was good." Jisoo said as she swung their hands as they entered the park as it was getting a bit darker in the sky as they found a bench as they sat down just eating their ice cream. "Taemin, I stil feel bad about samia. maybe tomorrow we could something all three us and explain to her that we are all still friends." Jisoo said as she looked over to Taemin
"I guess that we could talk to her." Taemin said as he looked at her. "we could uhm hang out together or do something but for now can we just talk about us." Taemin said as he looked at her. "I mean, like just talk to each other," Taemin told her
"okay." SHe said as she looked at him. jisoo watched as she could see some people walking around as she turned to Taemin just lightly smacking his shoulder as she jumped on her feet. "Come on, it is cherry blossom season so let's go see the flowers." jisoo grabbed his hand as he pulled to his feet just following her as she pulled him behind her. jisoo smiled as they were standing under a cherry blossom tree just finishing up their cones as Jisoo was now trying to catch petals in her hands.
Taemin smiled as he watched jisoo as he watched her finally catch a few as she closed her eyes just opened the back as she let the petals fly through the air again. "Can you tell me what you wish for?" HE asked as he watched her shake her head as he wrapped his arms around her torso. "you're so cute." HE mumbled into her side as he pecked the side of her head.
"We head back home." jisoo said as she started to walk just looking up at Taemin as he nodded. "today was really fun." SHe added as she linked their fingers together as Taemin was walking next to her again.
"it was fun," Taemin nodded as they walked down the street towards the apartment building. taemin and jisoo were walking up the apartment building as taehwan and mina were leaving. they entered the apartment building as they looked at everyone. "is something going on?" Taemin asked
"no, not really." minkyu answered as he crossed his arms. "where did you two go?" He asked
"on a date," Samia answered from the stairs as she looked at them. "Did you have fun?" she asked as Taemin nodded as jisoo sighed.
"we are still friends." jisoo said as she looked at samia
"well, of course, stupid." Samia shook her head as she started up the stairs just heading to her room.
jisoo sighed as she stomped up the stairs as she leaned back a little just grabbed Taemin as she pulled him towards her just pulling him up the stairs just heading to Samia's room. Jisoo knocked on Samia's door as she said to come on in. jisoo entered the Samia's room as she pulled Taemin in as she smiled at Samia. "Can we talk?" she asked as Samia looked at them.
"I am fine, really. I always knew that TAemin liked you. He was never very subtle about it." Samia said as she was sitting on her bed.
"uh, do you want to do something together tomorrow?" Jisoo asked as she looked at her. "we could -" jisoo started
"I already told Haneul and joohyun that I would help them try to figure out what attacked her." Samia said as she looked at them, "but if you want then you can help us?" She asked as jisoo nodded.
"Sure," Taemin said as he looked at her.
"great," Samia said as she watched Taemin leave as jisoo closed her door behind her.
"aRe you really okay?" Jisoo asked as she watched samia nod.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be? I always knew that Taemin was going to pick you in the end. I just wanted to prolong you two getting together to keep us three together longer." Samia shrugged.
"Sorry," Jisoo answered as she looked at her.
"don't be. you two are cute together and this just means I am on the market and we meet plenty of cute guys. Well at least hwiyeol does so I can steal one of those." samia laughed as she pulled Jisoo on her bed. "Now tell me about your date. what did you guys do?" Samia asked
"We watched a movie, got some ice cream, and walked through the park under the cherry blossoms trees," Jisoo answered as Samia nodded. "Nothing that special just having fun while spending time with each other." SHe said

wonho sighed as he opened the door to the room where the nightcrawler was as he watched as the figure was sitting up just getting some tests done as wonho walked into the room. "how is everything going, Lou (VAV)?" Wonho asked as he stood up from the table just slinging a black leather jacket on.
"I am fine. I just need to get used to this body and everything will work out," Lou said as he stretched his arms. He walked forward a little just standing next to wonho. "You know, I won't be that nice to these hunter people once you're gone," Lou said as he looked at wonho
"I know, but they won't be easy to go up against," Wonho told him as lou shrugged.
"I have you around long enough to teach me about them and learn from you," Lou answered as he looked at him. "also should I be nice to Haneul after all of this I mean, you like her but you're going to be dead soon," Lou added
"that is up to you. I'll only teach you how to control your powers and how hell works. you'll have to learn about the others on your own as I did." wonho said as he looked at him.
"I'll just read your brain at some point," Lou answered as he looked at wonho was they walked out of the room just heading to wonho's office. "so what exactly are my powers?" Lou asked
"I am not quite sure. I killed Jonghyun before he could tell me. He was getting annoying and I was afraid he was going to kill me too early or start a war in hell." Wonho said as he sat down at his desk.
"well I'll practice on the hunters," Lou said
"hold up, let's start with demons." wonho said as he looked at him. "I don't want you going after the hunters not knowing what you are doing because you'll die if you do." wonho added as he looked at him.
"I could lie and say that I need their help," Lou said as wonho shook his head.
"They aren't stupid." wonho said as he looked at him. "they check you out and figure out who you really are." wonho said as he looked at him. "You can go down to the testing room c and practice your powers. I have some demons in there." Wonho said as he watched Lou leave the room as he sighed.
"you've got yourself in quite the pickle haven't you?" daehee appeared in one of the chairs that were across from his desk.
"What do you mean?" Wonho asked her
"with Hwiyeol. how does one kill a god when the object that she needs is completely destroyed? or how does one change their most treasured person?" daehee asked
"shouldn't you watch who Hyungwoo gets close to?" wonho asked as Daehee sighed.
"I am. I am going to talk to him soon about it. Shouldn't you tell hwiyeol what you and minkyu are cooking up? I mean there could be bad things that come from this?" daehee said
"what have you heard?" wonho asked
"that a certain god created another god. oh and you know death isn't very happy, but when is death happy?" daehee asked as wonho sighed.
"I can deal with death. plus if death has any problems with me then I'll just introduce her to Lou." wonho said
"Oh, you're new pet? the nightcrawler. I think Jacob told her by now - or is that part of your plan?" daehee asked him.
"Jacob only knows to what I've instructed him to do. minkyu doesn't really know about him too much just what I've told him. don't make me kill you, daehee." wonho said
"then maybe you should stop bending the rules." daehee said
"we can do it for hyungwoo too. that is why you're here. to make a deal with me." wonho said as he smirked at her.
"what do you want? my life, oh wait you already have that." daehee asked
"I'll tell you what you have to do when the time comes. there is another way for us to get their powers. JUnmyeon did it." wonho said
"we are going to let them repeat Yura? isn't that crueler than -" daehee said
"are you afraid of dying or doing something worse than making a pact with hyungwoo?" HE asked her
"just call on me when I need to start." daehee said as she disappeared.
wonho sighed as he tapped on his desk as he looked at his phone just getting a few texts from joohyun if she could talk to him. "what did you want to talk about?" He asked as he appeared in the workroom that joohyun and jaebum were sitting in.
"I wanted to ask you about haneul and Jonghyun." joohyun answered as she looked at him. "Do you recognize this wound?" joohyun asked as she showed it to Wonho. "The kids have some theories, but I don't think that they are right." She added as she watched wonho looked at the picture.
"well, what do they think that it is?" Wonho asked joohyun
"They think that it is an incubus, but they don't hurt their victims this way. they usually just do emotional and mental attacks not physical." Joohyun said
"Some do attack their victims physically if they want to keep them as pets, return to them later, or charm them for their own use," Wonho said as he looked at her.
"so one has marked haneul for future use?" Joohyun asked as she looked at him.
"basically," Wonho answered as he looked at her. "Just keep watch on her closely and make sure that she doesn't disappear for days on end or doesn't sleep regularly." He added
"now about Jonghyun. did you kill him?" JOohyun asked him.
"I didn't. I found him dead though that is all I know." Wonho looked at her as he crossed his arms. "Is that all you need because I have some stuff to do," Wonho said
"Yes, that is all," Joohyun said as she watched wonho disappear from the chair that he was sitting in. She sighed as she looked at Jaebum as he looked at her. "how are we going to find out which incubus attacked haneul so that they can't come back and mess with her?" joohyun asked jaebum.
"I am not sure. I think that we should focus on who killed Jonghyun. he was just as powerful as Wonho so it would have to be someone on their level or more powerful to kill him." Jaebum said
"do you think that they found a good vessel for the nightcrawler and that person killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun looked at Jaebum. "Or Wonho forced the nightcrawler to kill Jonghyun?" She asked
"Those are both situations that could have happened," Jaebum said as he looked at her. "We will know soon if the nightcrawler has found a good vessel when Haneul goes to work," Jaebum said as he looked at her
JOohyun sighed as she crossed her arms. "I am going to go research about incubuses." She said as she walked out of the room. She looked up as Jaebum was looking through a couple of books. "What are you looking for?" SHe asked
"nothing much," Jaebum said as he scanned the bookshelves. he grabbed a book just sitting down at the table as he opened up the book as he started to read. Jaebum looked over to Joohyun as she was flipping through some pages. "You shouldn't worry about Jonghyun too much. He is dead and you should just be happy about that. doesn't it matter about who killed him?" Jaebum asked as Joohyun looked at him.
"I am happy that he is dead and that I got my powers, really I am. It just bothers me that Wonho didn't kill then who did?" Joohyun said as she sighed to herself. "I just want to make sure that there isn't a new baddie around other than the nightcrawler," Joohyun said
"There is that kid that keeps trying to kill wenji. wasn't his name Hyunbin?" Jaebum asked
"Could he have killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun asked as she looked at Jaebum.
"Maybe, maybe not. I mean Jonghyun was teaching Hyunbin everything that he knew so why kill the person that was making her you into his mini-me?" Jaebum asked as he was reading the book that he was looking at. "who knows Hyunbin could be the nightcrawler's vessel, but I highly doubt that. He would have already come to attack Wenji." Jaebum said as he looked at Joohyun. He watched her sigh as he shook his head. "Just forget it and help Haneul. I'll work your Jonghyun thing. Plus I believe that I found something that could be remotely related to the nightcrawler. IT is a rare breed of hell hound that is briefly mentioned in this book as they describe it as death's guardian and helper." Jaebum walked over to her just tapping the book. "we overlooked it because hell hounds can't have vessels, but they are considered demons." HE added
Joohyun looked at the book as she looked at the picture. "hyungwoo and Hwiyeol could possibly tell us more about hell hounds and possibly summon one in a vessel. wait, Renjun." Joohyun mumbled as she grabbed a black pot as she grabbed a few things. Joohyun started on a summoning spell as she dropped the last item in the pot as REnjun appeared in a cloud of red smoke. "Renjun, are you a hell hound?" She asked as REnjun looked at them.
"Why are you asking?" REnjun asked
"Cut your cryptic crap or I'll take you out." Jaebum raised his hand as it glowed as Renjun backed up.
"Yeah, I am. I am the few that were upgraded into a knight and gave a vessel to look over a blood witch. Hyungwoo must have one as well, but we don't make contact with our charges unless their life was in danger." Renjun said
"We think the nightcrawler is an ancient version of you," Joohyun said as she pushed the book forward. "And why was Hwiyeol's life in danger?" Joohyun asked
"I can't speak about my clients. I am as a lawyer." Renjun said as he looked at the book. REnjun nodded as he read over the small passage. "Some people do believe that the nightcrawler fits into this creature since neither of them has been seen by human eyes only passed down stories," REnjun told them as Joohyun and Jaebum were looking at him. "I am not going to tell you." Renjun said, "By the way where is hwiyeol. I don't have a location on her."
"She's with hyejin, Hyesung, and hyungwoo at some bird's house," Joohyun said
"A tengu." Jaebum corrected her
"Ah, she's out of my range of my location tracker. Jacob, right?" Renjun asked
"You don't know him?" Joohyun asked, "Aren't you suppose to know everyone she comes in contact with since that is part of your guard dog thing?" JOohyun asked
"Her time with Jacob was before she met Wonho and me, so I don't know him just his name," REnjun said, "He was friends with Gunhee." He shrugged
"He is Hyesung's patron," Joohyun said as she crossed her arms.
"Good for the kid. Well just let me know if you need me again and you dont' have to summon me, just text me." Renjun slid a card across the table.
"Hey, one last thing. Do you know who killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun asked
"I do, but it will cost you." REnjun looked at her

"For now let's just say you owe me," Renjun said as he watched Joohyun nod. "Lou did. He just woke up and freaked out, killed Jonghyun, and Wonho put him under until his body adjusted. He is practicing on demons right now." REnjun said
"Lou?" Joohyun asked
"The Nightcrawler," Jaebum said as Renjun slowly nodded.
"Why are you telling us this?" JOohyun asked
"Because Wonho is planning something with Minkyu. They've been talking a lot lately. My guard dog senses have been going off every time they are together. You do know Minkyu is like a god now. He has the most power in this damn house. You all thought Hwiyeol was the most powerful, but the tables have turned." REnjun said, "Even with you having your full powers - you are no god."
"What do you think that they are planning?" Joohyun asked as she searched around for the picture of haneul's wound as it wasn't where she had left it.
"I am not sure, but I know it has to do with the fact blood witches kill their most treasured thing or person to get their powers. they have to make a great sacrifice then kill their patron. spill tons of blood and hit total rock bottom than their guardian helps them heal." Renjun said
"Well she can't kill Minkyu, he's a god." Joohyun rolled her eyes. "hwiyeol might not admit it, but her family is probably next. I mean when Jaekook isn't helping us, he is at her parent's restaurant or spying on her brother." Joohyun said as she tapped the desk.
"blood witches can also get their powers from shear revenge and despair." Daehee appeared in a chair. "wonho can force her powers out by completely destroying her world, taking everything away, and then manipulating her to taking him out to win it back." She dodged a blade from Joohyun. "Stop attacking me, I'm hyungwoo's demon. I hold his powers." She said
"Why would someone put themselves through that kind of pain and suffering?" Joohyun asked
"people who have no choice." REnjun said, "The dangerous thing, remember." REnjun said
"hey joohyun, hwiyeol texted me some leads about the nightcrawler. it seems that -" Minkyu started as he was cut off by Joohyun.
"Yeah, REnjun already told me - sir god of lightning and thunder. should we call you perun now?" Joohyun asked him as he sighed.
"I was going to tell everyone soon. I mean some of them already knew, but I changed their minds. I didn't want anyone to make a big deal of it." Minkyu said

"No, we can't MInkyu. We need to talk about Hwiyeol. wonho and you are cheating the system and it is dangerous and it could really your relationship with hwiyeol." Joohyun said

"I am not sure. I think that we should focus on who killed Jonghyun. he was just as powerful as Wonho so it would have to be someone on their level or more powerful to kill him." Jaebum said
"do you think that they found a good vessel for the nightcrawler and that person killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun looked at Jaebum. "Or Wonho forced the nightcrawler to kill Jonghyun?" She asked
"Those are both situations that could have happened," Jaebum said as he looked at her. "We will know soon if the nightcrawler has found a good vessel when Haneul goes to work," Jaebum said as he looked at her
JOohyun sighed as she crossed her arms. "I am going to go research about incubuses." She said as she walked out of the room. She looked up as Jaebum was looking through a couple of books. "What are you looking for?" SHe asked
"nothing much," Jaebum said as he scanned the bookshelves. he grabbed a book just sitting down at the table as he opened up the book as he started to read. Jaebum looked over to Joohyun as she was flipping through some pages. "You shouldn't worry about Jonghyun too much. He is dead and you should just be happy about that. doesn't it matter about who killed him?" Jaebum asked as Joohyun looked at him.
"I am happy that he is dead and that I got my powers, really I am. It just bothers me that Wonho didn't kill then who did?" Joohyun said as she sighed to herself. "I just want to make sure that there isn't a new baddie around other than the nightcrawler," Joohyun said
"There is that kid that keeps trying to kill wenji. wasn't his name Hyunbin?" Jaebum asked
"Could he have killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun asked as she looked at Jaebum.
"Maybe, maybe not. I mean Jonghyun was teaching Hyunbin everything that he knew so why kill the person that was making her you into his mini-me?" Jaebum asked as he was reading the book that he was looking at. "who knows Hyunbin could be the nightcrawler's vessel, but I highly doubt that. He would have already come to attack Wenji." Jaebum said as he looked at Joohyun. He watched her sigh as he shook his head. "Just forget it and help Haneul. I'll work your Jonghyun thing. Plus I believe that I found something that could be remotely related to the nightcrawler. IT is a rare breed of hell hound that is briefly mentioned in this book as they describe it as death's guardian and helper." Jaebum walked over to her just tapping the book. "we overlooked it because hell hounds can't have vessels, but they are considered demons." HE added
Joohyun looked at the book as she looked at the picture. "hyungwoo and Hwiyeol could possibly tell us more about hell hounds and possibly summon one in a vessel. wait, Renjun." Joohyun mumbled as she grabbed a black pot as she grabbed a few things. Joohyun started on a summoning spell as she dropped the last item in the pot as REnjun appeared in a cloud of red smoke. "Renjun, are you a hell hound?" She asked as REnjun looked at them.
"Why are you asking?" REnjun asked
"Cut your cryptic crap or I'll take you out." Jaebum raised his hand as it glowed as Renjun backed up.
"Yeah, I am. I am the few that were upgraded into a knight and gave a vessel to look over a blood witch. Hyungwoo must have one as well, but we don't make contact with our charges unless their life was in danger." Renjun said
"We think the nightcrawler is an ancient version of you," Joohyun said as she pushed the book forward. "And why was Hwiyeol's life in danger?" Joohyun asked
"I can't speak about my clients. I am as a lawyer." Renjun said as he looked at the book. REnjun nodded as he read over the small passage. "Some people do believe that the nightcrawler fits into this creature since neither of them has been seen by human eyes only passed down stories," REnjun told them as Joohyun and Jaebum were looking at him. "I am not going to tell you." Renjun said, "By the way where is hwiyeol. I don't have a location on her."
"She's with hyejin, Hyesung, and hyungwoo at some bird's house," Joohyun said
"A tengu." Jaebum corrected her
"Ah, she's out of my range of my location tracker. Jacob, right?" Renjun asked
"You don't know him?" Joohyun asked, "Aren't you suppose to know everyone she comes in contact with since that is part of your guard dog thing?" JOohyun asked
"Her time with Jacob was before she met Wonho and me, so I don't know him just his name," REnjun said, "He was friends with Gunhee." He shrugged
"He is Hyesung's patron," Joohyun said as she crossed her arms.
"Good for the kid. Well just let me know if you need me again and you dont' have to summon me, just text me." Renjun slid a card across the table.
"Hey, one last thing. Do you know who killed Jonghyun?" Joohyun asked
"I do, but it will cost you." REnjun looked at her
"What do you want?" Joohyun asked
"Joohyun." Jaebum glared at her
"For now let's just say you owe me," Renjun said as he watched Joohyun nod. "Lou did. He just woke up and freaked out, killed Jonghyun, and Wonho put him under until his body adjusted. He is practicing on demons right now." REnjun said
"Lou?" Joohyun asked
"The Nightcrawler," Jaebum said as Renjun slowly nodded.
"Why are you telling us this?" JOohyun asked
"Because Wonho is planning something with Minkyu. They've been talking a lot lately. My guard dog senses have been going off every time they are together. You do know Minkyu is like a god now. He has the most power in this damn house. You all thought Hwiyeol was the most powerful, but the tables have turned." REnjun said, "Even with you having your full powers - you are no god."
"What do you think that they are planning?" Joohyun asked as she searched around for the picture of haneul's wound as it wasn't where she had left it.
"I am not sure, but I know it has to do with the fact blood witches kill their most treasured thing or person to get their powers. they have to make a great sacrifice then kill their patron. spill tons of blood and hit total rock bottom than their guardian helps them heal." Renjun said
"Well she can't kill Minkyu, he's a god." Joohyun rolled her eyes. "hwiyeol might not admit it, but her family is probably next. I mean when Jaekook isn't helping us, he is at her parent's restaurant or spying on her brother." Joohyun said as she tapped the desk.
"blood witches can also get their powers from shear revenge and despair." Daehee appeared in a chair. "wonho can force her powers out by completely destroying her world, taking everything away, and then manipulating her to taking him out to win it back." She dodged a blade from Joohyun. "Stop attacking me, I'm hyungwoo's demon. I hold his powers." She said
"Why would someone put themselves through that kind of pain and suffering?" Joohyun asked
"people who have no choice." REnjun said, "The dangerous thing, remember." REnjun said
"hey joohyun, hwiyeol texted me some leads about the nightcrawler. it seems that -" Minkyu started as he was cut off by Joohyun.
"Yeah, REnjun already told me - sir god of lightning and thunder. should we call you perun now?" Joohyun asked him as he sighed.
"I was going to tell everyone soon. I mean some of them already knew, but I changed their minds. I didn't want anyone to make a big deal of it." Minkyu said
"you did what?! Why in the world would you change people's memory? what is wrong with you?" Joohyun asked as she crossed her arms.
"can we just focus on the Nightcrawler?" Minkyu asked as Joohyun shook her head no.
"No, we can't MInkyu. We need to talk about Hwiyeol. wonho and you are cheating the system and it is dangerous and it could really your relationship with hwiyeol." Joohyun said
"at least I am not flirting with a person who stole someone's body," Minkyu said as he looked at Jaebum.
"she flirts with me?" Jaebum asked
"That is not the important thing here! you are manipulating hwiyeol to either kill her family or wonho due to some ed up situation. What are you going to fake your death with me so hwiyeol goes ing crazy?!" JOohyun asked
"Well... I mean," Minkyu started, "It was an idea."
"OH my god! what happens when she finds out you tricked her? Do you think she's going to forgive you? like, oh gosh I am so happy you're not dead let's go make out!" Joohyun purple smoke swirled around the ground.
"WE have ways to get around that. besides I am doing this so she doesn't have to go through all the pain." Minkyu said
"The pain won't just go away. It will happen, no matter what." Daehee spoke up
"what are you guys arguing about? We have a job." Hyunjae walked into the room. "We have found a binding spell to bind the pixies to the forest up in the mountains," Hyunjae said as he looked at the tension between Minkyu and Joohyun. "What is going on?" He asked
"You can't play god with someone's life." Joohyun looked at minkyu. "YOu've let perun take over your mind because this person right here isn't Minkyu." Joohyun purple smoke swirled around her as she was gone.
"did something happen, minkyu?" Hyunjae asked as minkyu shook his head just flashing out as there was a fluttering of wings as Jaebum was gone as well. "Can you two tell me what is going on?" Hyunjae asked as he turned to look at REnjun and Daehee as they were gone. "I ing hate magic," Hyunjae mumbled as he walked out of the room.
