Dara was gravely worried when Jiyong temporarily gave up the ghost. This was the first in all their years of association. He might force himself to sleep in the middle of scary movies but he never, not even once fainted. 

The first thing she noted after she caught him was that he was damn heavy. The next thing she noticed was that he was hot. Of course in her eyes he’d always look hot but right now he was literally burning up. It didn’t register at first but the heat from his skin translated to hers despite the layers of clothing between them. 

She touched his nape to confirm. She frowned. He probably was already sick earlier. She felt a twinge of guilt. She was too much in a snitch to notice he wasn’t okay and even had to pull a prank on him to get even.

“I need some help here.” She yelled out for help. Her knees started to buckle while she tried to put up with Jiyong’s dead weight. For a slim guy he was heavy. Heavy for her, at least.

A passing attendant scurried over to take him from her while calling out for a stretcher to be brought to them. She did a quick scan on him. His pulse was still strong. His extremities were limp but warm. His breathing wasn’t labored. As soon as he was down on the gurney, she checked his pupils by flashing her phone’s flashlight across his eyes. They reacted swiftly. She was thankful that none of the things she found pointed to a more serious condition but she was still worried. She helped the attendant push him towards the ER where she found an unexpectedly familiar face.

“Jaejoong.” She breathed out. 

The man in question turned upon hearing his name being called. “Dara.” A bright smile split his face at the sight of her. “I was not expecting to see you here on my first day. What a pleasant surprise.”

Dara smiled slightly but skipped off the pleasantries and went right down to business. “There was an obstetric emergency in the train so we went and helped bring the patient here.” She pointed vaguely towards the direction of the OB ER. “Then Jiyong fainted down the hall. It was my fault I didn’t notice he was sick. He was never sick. I noticed just now that he was running a fever.” Her hands were gesticulating wildly betraying her anxiety. She was not as calm as she had been earlier.

Jaejoong grabbed her hands to still them. “Breathe. Relax. I’m here you don’t have to worry. Okay?” Dara took a deep breath and nodded. Jaejoong’s stern voice had managed to cut through her nervousness.

Jaejoong looked her in the eye. “Good girl. Now, you go fill up his forms and I’ll go and see what I can do for Jiyong.”

Dara was reluctant to leave Jiyong but she knew Jaejoong had a point so she obediently followed his instructions. The hospital was small compared to city standards but the staff was efficient. Pretty soon Jiyong was transferred out to a private room after an initial diagnostic workup was done.

A few hours later Jiyong was already awake but Dara was not around. After she had made sure that Jiyong was going to be okay she went down to check on Hannah and her baby at the maternity ward. Jiyong was not alone, though. 

The door was open and the people passing by would almost without fail take a double look at the sight of the two guys inside the room. They would make a convincing advert for the hospital or better yet they could pass off as a scene in one of those medical slash action type dramas. 

The scene looked peaceful to the uninitiated but the tension was thick between the two. One guy was
