She didn't mean for that to happen. It was all an accident.
They would understand, right? They should understand.
They should know she meant no harm.
Nightmares of that day replay in Haneul’s head, over and over again. She remembers exactly how it felt. The feeling of losing all control over herself, of her power destroying her from the inside out. She knew that she should have said something. If she had, many things could have been avoided, but she didn't, and know they're all gone.
The day started like any other. A peaceful morning in the Kim house, or at least as peaceful as could be. It was around noon that a weird feeling began to settle. She was unsure and uncomfortable because of it but chose to ignore it.
They sat as a family at the dining table, enjoying lunch. When Mother decided to speak up.
“Do you have anything in mind dear?” She asked, concerned.
Her father turned to her with a similar expression. They knew that whenever she seemed distracted or was not paying much attention and dozing off, it had to deal with her powers, sensing a disturbance in the near future.
Depending on how it felt, it could mean good or evil. Hence why her parents always paid close attention to how she felt.
During these times she felt that her brothers were very lucky. They did not need 24/7 surveillance in order to ensure that they wouldn't burn the house down. She especially didn't understand how her twin brother didn't have the same power, or how she liked to refer to it, a burden. They were born from the same womb at the same time, wouldn't that mean that they would have the same abilities?
She herself didn't understand why she had those powers, seeing that no one else in the family had anything even similar to it. She acquired them when she turned 117 and they had become a part of her.
She looked up to meet her parents' eyes and shrugged. Not wanting to hear the nagging that day. Her parents let the topic go but stayed wary.
Later in the evening, as Haneul walked into the living room, a knock was heard at the door. This was unusual in her house, seeing that the Kim clan was very powerful and so most people preferred
