Description

Lee Taeyong knew that not everyone could be saved. Yoo Inna was no exception.

Lee Taeyong - second year dance student at a creative arts university - believes he's found an inexplicable fixation on a young woman at campus. His friends discourage the idea, warn him against the girl known for her unspoken but acknowledged promiscuity, however he is unswayed. Days of interaction and a relationship blossoms. Petals of likeness unfurl. Colours invade his world in the form of love, until the cracks begin to show...

And that Yoo Inna is buried far too deep in them to save.

"I would have showed you the world as it was in my dreams. I would have dropped everything.
"And for those nights when we wept for the moon, I would have died for the spring.
"I saw myself at the roots of the elms, singing songs to the birds and wishing this day would never end.

"But it did."

Foreword

This is a work of fiction, and all character portrayals are purely fictional. If perhaps there are any similarities here with other works, please note it is purely coincidental for this story is one I have conjured and constructed from inspirational sources and mainly my own imagination. Please do not plagiarise!

Note i: there will be no use of Korean honorifics, and Mark and Jaehyun's ages have been adjusted for the sake of the story.

Note ii: please don't be alarmed by the [M] and [TW] warnings in the first chapter. The story does not contain ual or gory content, however it will feature mental issues that may be uncomfortable for some readers.

I worked seriously hard on this. Like unbelievably hard.

Initially, the protagonist was supposed to have been Exo's Suho. But alas! Taeyong fit the part equally as well, if not better, and I had a blast writing him. For a one shot, this is going to be mighty long. I didn't initially foresee this being any longer than maybe 10-12 pages, but boy, was I mistaken. I wrote this in between a lot of my own English assignments, so I paid a lot of attention to construction and riddling emotions into it. This is a cross between prose and poetry - or at least that's what I like to believe - and I hope it has as much impact on you reading as it did on me writing.

Inspirations drawn from: the odd progressive song or two, a few sad piano renditions, and personal sights, sounds, and otherworldly experiences, especially from the window on my left.
