She tossed and turned all night, unable to find peace as her mind raced with thoughts of the omega who had stirred something within her.

"It's nothing, Tiffany. Don't overthink it," she reassured herself.

The next morning, Taeyeon's distinctive scent permeated the dorm, overpowering everything else. Tiffany couldn't recall encountering such a potent aroma from any other omega kin before. It was as though her senses had sharpened, honing in on the omega's presence. She could even hear Taeyeon's giggles from the living room.

Deciding not to dwell on it, Tiffany got up, eager to enjoy her Sunday. Sundays have always been her favorite day of the week.

As she made her way to the kitchen, she found Taeyeon lounging on the couch, wrapped in Mickey Mouse blankets, enjoying coffee and cookies while watching TV.

"Are you planning to spend the whole day watching TV like a hobo? Why don't you do something productive?" Tiffany remarked, hoping to catch her attention. “Don’t you have a job?”

"It's Sunday, Bright Spark. Most people relax on weekends. I'm enjoying mine with Netflix. So, piss off, and leave me alone," Taeyeon retorted.

"Watch your language, omega..."

"Oh, please," Taeyeon groaned, rolling her eyes. "Breakfast is ready. Have yours and be quiet at once."

"You can’t speak to me like that! I'm the leader of this dorm, and you should show some respect!"

"Will you leave me alone if I stop calling you names?" Taeyeon asked, clearly annoyed.

"Yeah," Tiffany agreed.

"Fine. Now, go away, Bright Spark."

"You're still calling me names."

"For an alpha, you're surprisingly concerned about an omega's words. Isn't it typical for your kin to ignore what we have to say most of the time?" Taeyeon questioned.

"You're disrespecting me in my own home. That's unacceptable."

"You're really getting on my nerves, you know that?" Taeyeon paused her show, stood up, and headed to her room. "I'll watch this in peace in my room. Seems like it's the only place I'll find any here. See ya, hemorrhoid."

Tiffany didn't attempt to stop her, relieved that she wouldn't have to deal with the omega for the rest of the morning.

“Yoona…” Tiffany called, gracefully entering the dorm room of her friend’s.

“What's wrong, unnie?”

“About your friend, Taeyang…”

“It's Taeyeon.”

“Right, whatever.” She waved dismissively. “Do you sense her scent as strongly as I do?”

Yoona hesitated, lips twisting in uncertainty. “Well, I can recognize her scent like everyone else here, but it's not that strong for me. Alphas have a different experience, don't they?”

“We do?” Tiffany questioned, intrigued.

“Alphas have enhanced senses, don’t they? Hearing and olfactory senses. So I assume an omega's scent would be more intense to an alpha than to another omega.”

“But it's so overwhelming. It gives me a headache. Why is her scent so strong? I don’t remember you giving me those headaches and hangovers.”

Yoona looked uncomfortable. “Well… she's never been marked before.” Tiffany blinked. “She's untaken, so her scent is rather strong to you. Potentially even… alluring, I assume.”

“But I'm not interested in omegas.”

“I'm just saying that, you being an alpha, you can’t really deny your instincts. Taeyeon's untaken status makes her scent being the dominant one in the dorm for your olfactory senses. Especially because she just arrived so your biology is still adjusting to this new  presence. Your body probably picks up on her signals more intensely than everybody else here.”

“Signals?”

“Yeah, like scent, voice, moods—those kinds of things.” Yoona said. 

“It's really distracting,” Tiffany sighed, hoping to keep her feelings from going deeper.

“I can only imagine. But as days go by, you'll learn how to deal with it. Your senses will regulate and it won’t be a nuisance anymore. You'll be fine after a couple of weeks.”

“I hope so. It's a real pain.”

“I'm sorry, unnie,” Yoona added suddenly. “I didn’t mean to stir trouble. It's my fault. I shouldn't have brought her here without asking you first.”

Tiffany shook her head. “No, it's okay, Yoona. She's your friend, and she needed a safe place. That's what friends do. Bringing her here was the right thing.” Yoona was always kind; Tiffany could never be mad at her. “As you said, I'll learn to ignore it and won’t be a nuisance anymore. Don't worry, okay? I'm not upset with you.”

Yoona smiled, grateful. “Thank you, unnie.”

The girl refused to even say a word to Tiffany for the rest of the Sunday. 

A low growl of frustration churned in Tiffany's stomach as she observed Sunny and Yoona openly loving the company of the newcomer. Sunny enthusiastically shared her games and VR experiences, and it was evident that the new girl was definitely enjoying her time with them. Tiffany could see those shorties become really good friends just fine. 

Tiffany did not like that idea. In fact, she resented it. She didn't want Sunny and Taeyeon to become good friends. She desired for that omega to endure the consequences of how she had treated her – it was unforgivable. The omega needed a reality check, to understand her place. How dare she speak against an alpha like that?

“You repulse me! I'm not interested in you. I'm not interested in alphas!,” She declared sharply on the first day they met.

Was Taeyeon interested in betas, then? Was that why it was so effortless for her to befriend Sunny? Did she prefer betas over alphas? Tiffany was puzzled. Alphas were at the pinnacle of the hierarchy – leaders, warriors, bosses. They were considered the ideal mates. Alpha males and females were what most people sought. How could this seemingly weak omega not desire an alpha as her mate? It defied logic.

Tiffany averted her gaze and took a step back as Taeyeon followed Sunny into her bedroom, still immersed in her VR, giggling away. When the door closed behind them, Tiffany winced.

“Just, please, don't be loud.”
